Erebus only used a Miyota 9000 series movement in their GADA watch, the Ascent. All of the Origins have NH movements including the new GMT. I know you’re blowing through these fairly quickly, but you should probably at least read the media sheet to refresh your memory.
I struggle to understand your perspective in your reviews. You seem to judge watches like they're $1k+ watches when 90% of what you review are super budget watches. I don't feel like the expectations align with the products. I've watched several of your reviews and this seems to always be the case. I like the Origin okay, as a dive watch-it's fine. But then when you consider the price, it's exceptional. I struggle to find anything at that price point that can even touch it.
It's likely a by product of being a watch reviewer. Handling so many watches it takes a lot to truly impress and the focus is on the details whereas the average buyer likely has a much more macro view
@@jimmcmellen986 I just wish the rules were the same for watches they are gifted vs. watches they don't get to keep. It's almost like they resent not being given a free watch so they're MUCH harsher.
@@jaredstephenson6468 I agree, and it's soo easy to be a critic. People bust their hump to do something they believe in, and spend a lot of time, effort, and money to do it just to be pooh poohed by an authority {sometimes with an ax to grind). Not saying Ben always does this, but I see it out there. Personally, I think the watches look clean and sporty, but they look like so many others I gravitate to more.
Also how is 12.6mm chunky for a tool-style dive watch? I just don't get the expectations at all. Maybe you could make a video explaining your criteria and how you judge the items you review. You also seem to be MUCH more favorable to watches when they've been gifted as opposed to when they're loaned.
The empty space on the dial was what i didnt like on the first, this is rectified her due to the smaller size, but personally the gmt version fixes that in an even better way thanks to the extra hand and thicker bezel
I guess if its true that the manufacturer is San Martin I would expect the quality to be right up there. Even Mark from Long Island watch is now retailing the San Martin. Out of all the Chinese watch manufacturers San Martin is by far the best. So is it true? Is Erebus made by San Martin?
My daughter wants a pink dial for her 18th birthday,….if only the purple was available in pink dial/bezel and a 36mm but this dimensions just about work given the female market trend going for male watches. Jody…make me a pink one and I’ll buy immediately 😂
I think Long Island makes a pink automatic. And rheres another comaony that makes a pink quartz diver - I forget their name. I bought my daughter the SM 37mm with the grey bezel BB homage and it looks frest in her tiny wrist. She said people comment a lot on it - they dont expect a woman to wear a nice diver like that. The grey bezel with the black dial looks amazing. Recommended.
It's still bereft of any passion, joy or enthusiasm. The absolute blandest, run of the mill, 'one of the watches ever', cynically shat out by some Chinese factory to sell to gullible fans of some shilly youtuber. No thanks!

Aaah, the reviewer becomes the reviewed.

2:45 the movement is NH35 and not Miyota per the website
Great unboxing. Not enough steel bezels out there. Reminds me of the Tudor 79730 or a Sinn.
NH35 not Miyota. Good watch, better size, but a tad boring

Cmon man 😂 it’s Ben. He’s an egg on a stick, anything he wears is chunky on him. Don’t take him seriously
Watches he finds big I find too small but that's just preference I guess
I just bought a Automatic chronograph 14mm thick. This watch is thick for what it is .

It’s a dive watch, they’re usually chunky.
I mean he's open about how many watches don't fit his slim wrist

The purple 38 is absolutely perfect! 😊
Ben, dive watches can afford to be on the chunky side.
That being said, this one is still pretty slim for a diver.
Yeah I haven't been able to really like the Origin watches, they're just plain looking to me--something is missing. The 38mm does look better though.
Nice watches for the money but not enough to make me pull the trigger.
They definitely did not use a Miyota movement in the previous larger version. Come on, Ben.
This one has an NH35 doesn't iit?
So when will Jody review your SpaScam?
He already did.

Doubtfully
Is it the same level of quality such as San Martin offers?
Many say that Erebus watches are made by San Martin

the black with the SS bezel is definitely my favorite of the bunch
The red pops out beautifully on the steel bezel

it wears great on your wrist 💯
I was thinking the same.
Ben must be insecure claiming it’s too big.
Check out the Citi-Oak BM7630

Single digit iq take. Its great value for the price with an excellent minimalist design, go touch some grass

Couldn’t have said it better!
They hated Jesus because he told the truth.
Erebus - just ugly watches 😪
Ugly comment.
Pass. Looks like a kid designed it.
Minimalism is the word.
Less is more.
Love it.
38 mm is too small for a real dive watch.
Unfollowing. 6 1/4 wrist reviews are not in line with my needs. Good luck.
😂 Look out.. we got a big-wrister here!
@@bboooobbyy LoL his big manly wrist is just too much for this channel! By the way I have an 8.1 inch wrist, but I still like Ben’s channel. 😊
