The housing prices are not much less than in Az. What's the draw to live there? $1,500 for a 2 bedroom (about 15% less) $2,500 for a 3 bedroom (about 15% more)

The draw to live there is there is a large crime rate, larger than east san diego, and the quality of life is a lot lower. The roads are a lot worse, I have had dogs eat the bumpers off my car, while driving 35mph. However, it is not all bad and there are safer areas but the rent is another thing. In Mexico, household items and living cost less so in TJ, a 1 bed 1 bath could be like $250 for a regular apartment. In a far safer beach city just ten miles south, you can easily spend $1.2k-1.6k for a 3 bed 2 bath home on the beach with a chandelier and a 4 car garage. The cost of living is insanely low, but in some areas of Mexico, the quality of life can also be very high. Tijuana is a border city and is geniunely a very high crime rate area. Realistically, it’s like walking around Watts/South LA at night. Something will always happen.
