2017 Duke 390 owner here Already have a tail tidy on my bike Installed it using provided toolkit, was a big barrel of laughs Now If you wish to really spice up the proceedings, how about installing handlebar risers? It'll be TOO MUCH FUN!!
Yeah you have talked about calibrating the speedo's... Can you attempt that? Also, how about tuning them? You kinda of mentioned the Triumph needing it after the new exhaust install.
Just got back on a bike after 33 yrs. I’m disabled so I never thought it would happen. I chose the duke because of its weight, looks and performance. I’m very limited but this bike is fun while I’m doing it. Thanks guys
I've never been on a bike and it's been 42 years since I rode my moped. I became disabled after a car accident and being in my mid-50's I decided I wanted to learn how to ride. My bike of choice-- KTM duke 390. Ride Safe
Congratulations, that's wonderful! I was hoping to take a beginning rider's class earlier this month, but all the scheduled classes in my area are canceled until further notice, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The classes are open in my area with all the necessary precautions - masks, sanitizing gel. The exam itself was hard to sign up for - I had to constantly check for a slot, after two weeks of monitoring I finally managed to snag a spot. I was planning to buy a Yamaha MT-03, but after several sessions of training on the instructor's Yamaha XJ-6, I'm used to a 600 CC bike. It was easier for me to perform all the necessary exercises on an XJ-6 provided by my instructor than on an XJ-6 with a limiter provided by the examining authorities. So now I'm deciding between the MT-07 and an MT-03,
1 reason that prevented me from doing tail tidy is because i dont want rain splashing to my back. But the reason quickly got voided because even with factory tail, my back is still got splashed. So i just change it.
Dude it's been a while since I've watched your channel. It's awesome to see what you've built. You don't need to put your life on the line for views! Much more mature channel. Keep up the great work!
what you could do is mount the toolkit to the passenger seat bottom with the 2 included rubber bands, this holds it out of the way and keeps it from rattling.
I don't get why Duke is such a polarizing bike. It's cool-looking; granted, not every classical rider's cup of tea, but still highly diggable IMHO. Very maneuverable and versatile both in the city and on the road for shorter trips. I don't own one at the moment but I wouldn't say no to buying one in the future. That and an RC are on my future bikes list.
Yammie.....there's a fun feature that i find amusing on the bike....you may know it or not.....the bike has a feature called self start.....you just gotta tap the ignition switch and it starts the bike....just the slightest tap..
Lol, UK is a lot free'er for what you can do to your bike. From factory, bikes coming into the UK have kinda strict regulations, like having to meet emissions regulations etc. But once the bike is privately owned by anyone, the rulebook is almost non existant. There are no emissions regulations once privately owned, and the rules on noise levels bikes are allowed to produce are relaxed, basically if the noise will deafen you after exposure to it for a few seconds then it needs fixing, but you'll be surprised by the amount of bikes that can have straight pipes and still be legal. The only things you need to keep on top of to make sure your bike is road legal in the UK is to make sure the brake light works, there is a minimum of 1mm tyre tread depth, and the front light/lights work and project light at the correct angle. Indicators (turn signals) or mirrors which are common mandatory features on motorcycles in different countries are not mandatory in the UK. You dont have to have them. Heres the other thing. We have daytime only MOT inspections which make the rules even more relaxed. You dont even have to have any lights at all apart from a brake light. This means, you can literally take a Yamaha YZ250 dirt bike, put a brake light and number plate (license plate) on it, and you'll be able to register it and get a daytime MOT for it to ride on the streets. Want to be able to ride on the roads day and night? Get a headlight fitted and there ya go
I got the same tail tidy for my 390. I also ordered the rear fender from KTMtwins, it attaches to the swing arm, does an awesome job keeping dirt on the ground and looks sick.
That Duke is way more capable than that dirt track. People have taken it to Ladakh here in India and that route is way more demanding with river crossings and way bad off-roads
Most, but certainly not all motorcycles (yes, Triumph, I'm looking at you), come with a tool kit. So here's the challenge: how many common maintenance tasks can you perform on your bike(s) using ONLY the tool kit that is supplied with it? Do "premium" motorcycles come with a better or more useful tool kit than "budget" bikes?
@Yammie noob. In regards to the exhaust portion of the video. Just getting an exhaust is first on most peoples list but don’t you HAVE to get a tune also!! I mean you don’t want (in the long term) damage the bike.
I like to take it all the way to Johnson city, Blanco, Wembley, dripping and back to Austin on back roads. I work for a delivery company and learned all those roads in a 53ft truck at full speed.
Legend says if you are early papa yam will like your comment. Great video, just make the music while you are talking a little bit quieter it was hard to focus on what you and Spite were saying.

Both of those bikes need bar end mirrors. That would improve the look of them so much! The stock ones especially on the KTM are so ugly. Love the vids keep it up 👍🏼

Congrats!
Welcome to the club 🤟🏼

The amount of mud on the fender shows it does do its job lmao
Yeah it works surprisingly well
@@yammienoob especially if you're doing what ut does best and being a hooligan

Definitely a missed opportunity not putting the Coffin meme in Yami when you were about to sneeze 😂
If I remember right, the Duke 390 we get here in India has L. E. D turn signals in the stock form.

If you want to ride with a tail tidy keep in mind turn signals can be in the way of luggage and obstruct turn signal visibility from the side.
I think Jake the Garden Snake's adventure bike is looking awesome so far. Also I love how the tidy kit looks on the KTM.
Another Yammie and Spite vid! My day can now officially start well! 😎👍
What's up my yammies! Cant wait for more videos....keep up the good work🤙🤙🤙
Lead with the bike that got the mod so we can see it in motion.

Hey @yammi, can I get the link to that tail tidy? I just bought a duke 390 not even 3 weeks ago and am looking for a preferred tail tidy.
Hand guards would keep cool/cold air off your hands so it can be a functional mod
Lots & lots of talk about KTMs yet still no review of the 690 smc R! What I’d give to see that 😢

I would have used spearhead led signals all-around to replace stock for an icier look and better light.

Sometimes you just have to ask yourself WWLRD... What Would Lord Rossi Do?
BTW, Yoshimura muffler on a VFR800 is a dreamy noise!
Do y'all ever take Fitzhugh all the way down to Ranch Road 12?
I like the little downhill curve by the water!

How and where do you put the sign after the tail is installed? No video shows that
Someone on Facebook marketplace in my area turned their Duke into a trike with a quad bike rear end
I wish your channel wasn't dying:(
Yamaha r3, mt 03, duke 390 or ninja 400? New
Which dealership makes you feel comfortable?
I have question is evotech tail tidy for duke 390 available in other countries.
Well and how you gonna pop dankers with a tail tidy? It's a functional mod in my opinion for that reason.

i got a duke 125 an i feel like a child when he called the 390 little lol
I've always wondered.. doesn't papa yam go on night rides??🤔🤔
He did one on the boosa. It's probably coz night rides don't give the best footage.

i have a 2021 duke 200 and i'm trying to find this or something that can eliminate the fender where you get this one at

KTM needs a mirror tidy tho 😬

Duke 390 squad!
Ktm in Indian market are better compared to USA it comes with better oem parts and gizmos and handgaurds as stock
They don’t even give you guys any nice products over there. You guys are poor.
I'm two seconds away from buying spite a new pair of jeans. His knee is too hot for RUclips, not very "advertiser friendly".
I put the Yoshimura tail on my Z900 THE DAY she came home 🤣😂
