Wow David, I just wanna say it’s an amazing channel and literally I’ve been binge watching your channel from past 3 hours. Just loved it . Keep it up, sending much love and positivity.❤️❤️❤️❤️⚡️
Alish, I agree. His KTM 390 knowledge and presentation style is very captivating. Most of my weekend was spent watching his channel, and I do not own a Duke 390…not yet that is. 😊
I thought in one of his later videos I noticed at least one welding helmet on a shelf there, and hoped to see some fab/welding work, either making parts or a repair. Looks like he used a MIG this time. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has a video making some frame mods with a TIG too! If that was me running that cutoff wheel, and not using gloves, half of my video would need to be deleted to remove the excessive blood spray…😂 The closeup of the final product on the bench has a nice MIG bead run, nice! The metal was thicker than I thought, I was expecting to see some damage where you may have blown-through.
Thanks, much appreciated. It had been my plan to include some welding in the video, but I do so little welding at the moment that it takes too long to get back up to speed to include it. The main issue with welding this is that being a non structural part it is a very low quality steel and I think recycled so there is a lot of contamination which makes for very messy welds. I try not to get too much blood on the camera ;)
Thank you so much for this Detailed video, it was very helpful. I opted to cut mine straight off at the square tube to achieve the desired length and welding it back together again.
Nice. Size and shape of the licence plate will drive the final design. In the UK we have huge plates and it makes it hard to tuck them in (legally anyway!)
Thank you, I really enjoyed this video, as many previous ones. I plan to the same next long winter. I like your language and pronunciation. I would even recommend your videos for English classes ;).
Hi! I know that im late because this video is from 2 years ago but i bought a 2023 ktm duke and discovered your channel recently. It looks like that the bike from this video have a bigger back tire than the stock one, am i wrong? About the tail tidy, 100% that this is the next change for my bike! Amazing video, really helpfull!
Glad I could help and thank you. That is a stock size rear tyre. The way the manufacturer constructs the tyre can make them look a bit wider - and I agree, the Bridgestone does look wider (I think that is what I had on the back in this video).
Thanks. I built the shed and the tools accumulate over the years. I still use the spanners that I bought thirty years ago. You can travel a long way in small steps. This is personal, but I'm also planning for the future when I'm no longer doing a desk job.
Would you suggest the basic tail tidy from rok bagoros? I'm doubting because the cables of the blinkers are exposed. And the price gap for the premium one is pretty big.
@@MotoMirius Yeah so I ordered the premium one! You know, watching your channel is really fun and expensive at the same time! bassically ordered every protection part + tail tidy for my 390 from bagoros now 😁😂
I bought a tail tidy and am using that but I don't really like it... Also it does not have the number plate light (so kind of not legal).... but I think I'm going to be doing this now!!! looks pretty cool, hope I complete it tho :b
Dave! Just asking about on the road security, for bikes, because I just bought another 125 KTM 2022, and nearly got it stolen out side a small walk in Sainsbury's just today, I had a D-Lock on the back sprocket and chain, so that walk the only thing that stopped them and so staff shouting in the store that they were trying to steal my bike, could you suggest any measure that I could take? P.s They got away on a scooter....
Of course they were on a scooter. Ultimately if someone wants your bike there is nothing you can do to stop it. But what you experienced is common too - you have to strike a balance - there is only so much security you can carry and a D lock is good (if its a good one) but hard to lock a motorbike to anything with one. A proper chain and padlock - say ABBA not Oxford works but then you have something that weighs nearly as much as the bike. I do quite like the KTM disk lock for this reason. Never bought one, but it's always fitted and not so easy to remove with an angle grinder or brute force as your average cheap disk lock. Good to hear that you survived that one. But a couple of years ago there was a 390 Duke got stolen from the high street near me and was ridden around for quite a while by the thieves.
@@MotoMirius thanks a million for your insight, I ordered two more D-locks, the one that saved me was a ABUS, That I normally use with my garage lock, one more of them a Kryptonite deck Evo, for the break disk, until my steering lock is fixed Saturday morning, thanks again, salute to always!
Ah, I continue to have microphone issues and being deaf in my right ear, I sometimes miss it. I just spent an hour on the next video correcting exactly this problem!
I had planned to show better shots of the tail but during the making of this my computer crashed and I lost files, and I've taken it off to mock up on another bike so I didn't take additional shots. But thank you, much appreciated, and I will try to do better! Skäl David
Not all that long - it's hard to say because filming always makes jobs five times longer. Waiting for paint to dry is the longest part, a good fabricator would be able to do the basic work in just a few minutes.
I did see this on another video the other day and wondered if and when you was going to post this. Unfortunately, this is way out my skill set! Plus how would I get the aliexpress tail tidy off probably rusted on haha
Ha! Easier to make than you might think. I did shoot footage of how to do this without welding but I left it out as it wasn't complete enough. Maybe I need to buy another tail and do a non welding version? Did I come over a bit peeved about the existing tail tidy? AliExpress is back on the bike after a bit of rust removal, filing and a coat of paint! Skäl David
