    You can tell you play a lot of city planning/building games because the layout of your settlement is so well throughout and nice. I’ve watched a lot of these videos and your settlement is by far one of the nicest ones

    When your assigning people that harvest or plant trees you can change the size of the circle by scrolling to cover a larger area, may make it a bit easier for you. Great Series!

    A little tip, when placing burgage plots there are plus and minus buttons next to the confirm build button, it will let you change the number of plots, lower the number for wider plots with room for house extensions, it's easier than trying to place the one by one.
    Oh and horses are only used in trading jobs, you might as well add it to the trading post, since you literally have no other use for it at the moment.

    Someone said that the backyard goats you can add to the houses (instead of vegetables and chickens) do give meat and leather, which the sheep don't, but I haven't seen any content creator videos where they've added any goats.
    For people living far from their workplaces, you can assign the family from a specific house to a specific workplace. I've seen another creator unassign the village-living family from a remote quarry, and assign the family from the nearby house there instead. They were pretty far from the market, so I don't know if they were getting adequate living supplies.

    Tips For The Game:
    1. FOOD - BACKYARD CHICKENS!!! : When you make houses they should mostly all have extra room for a backyard The first row of upgrades (Vegetables, Apples, Chickens, & Goats) do NOT take away your people from doing any regular jobs. Every house should have either chickens or goats (vegetables take too long, better to trade for them). Chickens give you a lot of eggs & goats are for leather. Eggs are a super important food supply & a fast one. It does NOT take the family away from their regular assigned jobs. So upgrade half your houses to have chickens & the other half to goats. But if you do not want to trade leather much I would focus more on Chickens.
    Anything other that those four (Vegetables, Apples, Chickens, & Goats) when you upgrade the backyard of the house is level 2 or level 3 (like shoe making for example) this make that household artisans which takes them away from the regular work force so you can not assign them anywhere. I think level 3 houses or level 3 artisan jobs then take up 2 worker families from regular jobs if you make them an artisan.
    2. Trade is the most important thing, You should have used your skill points in the trade section. The first one makes all trade routes 25 coins to unlock automatically so you don't have to pay hundreds of coins to unlocks routes. Then the second one removes the tariffs so everything is cheaper. To make a lot of money you are going to have to export things that you have a surplus of I would suggest doing leather from goats or roof tiles if you have a lot of clay or both to make money. Then you can import things that you need and are difficult to get. (Like another food source, meat & vegetables are hard to get a huge surplus of yourself but buying them is cheap & will make your citizens happy)
    - I believe the price when importing or exporting is per item. So its 11 coins to buy 1 firewood.
    3. For the farms. You can have multiple fields for one farm, you don't need to make such a huge field or have another farm house. You should create multiple smaller fields & interchange them between growing something & letting them be fallow (empty) for the year. The reason your field was not full was because the workers can not finish it fully because its to big & there is not enough workers to complete it in time. Farms require a lot of workers the more fields you have or the bigger the fields are.
    4. When assigning an work area to chop down trees, plant tress, gather berries/herbs you can expand the circle thing to have a bigger work area. It tells you what the button is for it at the bottom of the screen when you have the circle out. That way you don't have to keep redoing the circle every few minutes.
    5. Oxen are very important I would buy a few more. One for each saw pit you decide to have then a handful of them for building. They are not expensive to buy either. So id have at least 5 of them by the time you hit 60/70 houses. You can buy extra and assign then to logging camps as well if you want to. But make sure you have some unassigned ones for building things.
    - I have no idea if you need to assign people the the hitching posts because I have no clue what they do. I don't think I have seen anyone in other play throughs assign people to them because the people that build things (unassigned workers) are the ones that lead the Oxen around. They might be needed for other types of livestock you don't own yet like mules. I would look into it though.
    6. Horses are only used for trading things, make sure to assign 2 horses for each trading post you have.

    hi, delady! i don't know if you already figured this out but where you plant barley, wheat, and flax around you manor differs. each of these plants have different fertility rate on where you plant them. also, the orchard fully yields more apples after three years of planting it, i think?
    these were just what i picked from watching other videos. i hope it helps!

    The retinue is the Men at Arms who attend to the lord. They are professional soldiers, and so do not do any labor other than fight for you when you go to war or need to fight bandits. These Men at Arms are landless nobility. They are different from the militia in that they are professional, and the militia are composed of your serfs/freemen, and as such, when you rally your militia, it comes at the cost of your labor pool.

    @11:33 When you first draw the zone for burgage plots, it automatically tries to fill as many individual plots as it can for the space which usually means only single plots. However, once you have drawn the zone, you get the tools to confirm, rotate, and a plus/minus. The last 2 allow you to increase the size of the individual plots in the zone by reducing the number of plots in the zone, or to increase the number of plots (if there is space for it). by reducing the number of plots often, 1 or more of the plots will become wide enough for the side house.

    When crops are harvested, the crop is brought to the farmhouse for storage. Once everything is harvest, then the crop (wheat/emmer and rye) is thrashed into grains, that are also stored in the farmhouse. The grains are then brought to the windmill to be ground into flour. If the crop is barley, then it is taken to the Malthouse to be made into malt, and if the crop is flax, then it is brought to the weaver to be made into linen. No crops are stored on the field once harvested.

    Those round work zones from the forester, loggers, hunters, etc you can increase and decrease the size of the work area you want them to work. You can select the forester, and decrease the work size to it's smallest, and use that to plant trees for decorative purposes in your village. The farmhouses also have an assignable work area that you can use to designate which fields you want a given farm to work on if you have more than 1 farmhouse and many fields. any building with assignable work areas that you do not assign a specific zone, the workers will go to wherever there is a viable place for them to work no matter how far away that is. So if you had 1 farmhouse, and a field way on the other side of the region, the workers will travel all the way to that field to work it if they have the time to do so.

    Vegetable gardens, like crops have a planting and harvesting season, so until they harvest their vegetables, the supply won't go up. Chicken coops produce a consistent supply of eggs all year round.

    I don't think the second hunting camp will help you, due to the reserve of 10. The first camp you placed is set to only hunt when there are more than 10 deer. There are currently 10, so the second camp won't be able to work either. Unless their limit is lower. But, you need some deer in order to breed more deer.... This game is SO CLEVER! @33:10 Goat pens are a burgage plot extension. The goats provide hides (that the tanner can turn into leather), but do not provide milk. At least not yet. I believe that one of the development points allows you to get meat from the goats, but I could be wrong about that.

    For the burgage plot extensions of vegetable gardens and apple orchards, the land fertility does not matter. the land fertility is only for the farm crops. The vegetable garden and apple orchards are the only extensions where the square footage (meters) of the back yard matter for the amounts that they produce.

    Sheep graze on the grass in their pasture, so you do not supply them with food. None of the animals need to be fed in this game actually. But you do need a pasture for the sheep or they will run away on you. The size of the pasture determines how many sheep you can have. You can have more than one pasture even if you have only one sheep farm building.

    @47:31 it doesn't matter how far away a family is from the marketplace in terms of the market counting for them (as they will walk to it no matter how far it is). But it does matter in terms of how long it takes for the family to get to the market and purchase their supplies from it. This will be even more so for families that just moved in as these ones are as they have not even had a chance to go to market to pick up supplies. That will happen in due time, but the distance may mean that they will not be good candidates for upgrade as they may not be able to access enough different market stalls in a timely fashion beyond what they need for level one.
    These new plots are also very far away from all the work areas. So, it might be a good idea to either reserve them for your construction (unassigned) or to build a building or 2 nearby to them to work at. If they both work far from their homes and the market is far from their homes, then they may struggle to get to the market as they have to walk to work, then walk back home before they can walk to the market to fill their supplies.
    You can make sure people work the jobs they live closest to by clicking on a house, and under the advanced tab there is a "reassign work area" button. Clicking on that will allow you to click on any work building and that family will automatically be assigned to that building.

    • @DeLadysigner
      @DeLadysigner  5 месяцев назад

      Funny you mention this.. because I think I saw a video of someone saying that families actually dont really move to the market at all.. their supplies just appear in the house their inventory? But it does matter how close the houses are to the market.. the closer the house to the market, the more sure they are of a certain supply if in stock..
      No idea if you expierenced the same?

    • @spamfilter32
      @spamfilter32 5 месяцев назад

      @DeLadysigner interesting? I hadn't paid much attention, but now that you mention it, I only remember seeing families man the stalls, not people loitering in the marketplace. It may be that Greg just hasn't implemented the animations/ai behaviors for that yet.

    Sheep only produce wool, but you can also import lambs. I haven't seen anyone do that yet, but I assume differentiating lambs from sheep is because the lambs are slaughtered for meat? I could be wrong about that, but it is interesting that they have lambs and sheep as separate animals.

    • @DeLadysigner
      @DeLadysigner  5 месяцев назад +1

      Arn't lambs just baby sheep that might be a bit cheaper than sheep because they first need to grow up and you don't get any whool from them in the beginning? Not sure.. I somehow feel in some games in works this way, haha!

    • @spamfilter32
      @spamfilter32 5 месяцев назад

      @DeLadysigner yep. The lambs are just baby sheep and I have been told they grow into adult sheep. I was a bit confused because there isn't an aging process for the peeps, so I thought sheep wouldn't either. No lamb chops in the game yet. To bad because they are deeeeelish!

    A few things about Trading. I hope I'll not reveal to much haha
    The price e.g. 1/11 mean you selling (export) for 1, buying (import) for 11. You can spend a development point to bring import price to export price.
    You can also use other development point to reduce price for opening new trade routes to 25. instead of 100 or 200.
    About farming. I'm not 100 % sure but I think you can use one farmers house for more then one field. Also different areas are suitable to grow different crops.
    I hope it helps. Not sure about the planks...

    Hey FYI - when selecting areas to clear/gather for like your woodcutters, berry gatherers, hunters, you can increase and decrease the size of that circle. So instead of having to constantly select new areas to clear forest, you can just make that circle quite large.
    That said, does anyone else kind of wish they would have implemented a similar system for clearing areas out like Foundation?
