    Those wood beams are so good, they look so realistic. Good job on the backstage area, they're such a pain to fill properly so I'm always admiring when people decided to go the extra mile to make them look this nice.

    You already know im obsessed with this nighthouse but its so inspiring! Im also willing to die on the hill of it being "platypi" ("Platy-Pie") and will fight anyone who disagrees. I had not actually considered turning the gutter upside down for more solid colour on the lines, such a great idea! Bring on the next one!

    I love the look at your backstage areas! There's something about making the space feel "lived in", as if there's actual human beings using it, and not just game mechanics where things happen magically 😅

    Platypus will be the next animal for which I'll be building an enclosure in my night pavilion! 😄
    I really enjoy watching people build backstage areas because it's something you don't see much, and it gives me a lot of inspiration and ideas for when I build in my own zoo. Great episode!
    Just a small note... Could you please make longer cinematic shots and show more of the build?🤩

    This exhibit looks so good. I love the platypus and was so happy when they added it to planet zoo. I’m totally going to be using that plastic, water marking trick in the future. I’ve always used them as a placeholder for water at the height I had already placed but putting them at each interval was just a great idea. I actually love seeing your backstage areas because that’s one of the areas that I have the hardest time with. It makes the exhibits feel so much more real and really it’s the animals primary care space. For concrete (floors, walls, ceilings) something to help make them feel more real and less boring is expansion joints. Most concrete is poured in smaller slabs to make it easier to form and shape. I was just working on my backstage and it helped so much. I usually just use either a decal or concrete wall/pillar slightly recorded and sunk into the slab to make the line.

    • @sparrow838_
      @sparrow838_  5 месяцев назад +1

      That's a really smart trick with the concrete! I'll have to try it out in the future.

    Such an excellent build! This nocturnal/night house is so inspirational, and seeing a notification that you've posted again never fails to bring a smile to my face! I'm loving the realism and backstage areas you're adding to the builds, and I am very excited to see more of the future of Sandstone Eco Zoo!
    One further thing that I thing could really elevate the realism of the platypus backstage area could be an implied burrow system! The few zoos that keep the species around the world have extensive burrow systems to allow them to be separated easier, and to allow them to enjoy the same kinds of expansive burrows they would create in the wild🙂
    Furthermore, I must say I very strongly stand for "platypi" as opposed to "platypuses"😂 Sorry mate😂

    • @sparrow838_
      @sparrow838_  5 месяцев назад +1

      I actually had a friend send me a schematic for a platypus backstage and noticed the burrows! I took one look at it though and it looked waaay too complicated to make work in Planet Zoo. So the platypuses (linguistically correct lol, but I agree that platypi sounds better) got nesting boxes instead. As always, thanks for watching!!

    • @That_AussieBloke
      @That_AussieBloke 5 месяцев назад +1

      That's entirely fair enough - I can't imagine making those burrows work would be a fun/easy task!
