I’m Not saying that there aren’t a ton of horrible talk shows now, but they are fascinating in how much effort they take to put on every day for me. But back then there was Dave and Conan and even though they were both pretty subversive they were still commercially viable. So even though I think shows like Jay Leno and eventually Jimmy Fallon and Colbert are pander fests, they all have some good points here and there and but have to appease the people who pay for and watch their shows.

i read somewhere that John Hughes was very adamant in getting Jodie Foster to play Claire in The Breakfast Club but foster has in Yale at the time & wasn't interested in doing teen films but it would had been great to see Jodie in the breakfast club
