Manaal was always a really serious and conscientious student, and she got good grades and worked hard, she cared. It was time for ap exams for all of her ap classes, and, she was taking a ton of ap classes which could sometimes be a disaster, lots of ap tests - ap english, ap bio, ap environmental studies, ap history, ap world history, and ap chemistry, ap physics, ap physics 1, and ap government. It was a bit of a test nightmare.
Throughout the whole school year she knew that finals week, and taking that ap exam in each class, was the most important time of the year and that those tests and exams counted the most toward your final grades.
So, finals week was upon her, and it was the day of her final exam in ap englsih in junior year. She got to the cafeteria where they were giving out the test, and everyone was there, all her friends and classmates, and everyone was getting ready.
Sharp pencils, everything organized, and the teacher who was the test administrator, or proctor, told the students that they could start to fill in the bubbles with their names and all of that information. Now, before tests and other assignments Manaal has this habit of needing to first clean her glasses - makes sense - so, with everything all ready for the ap exam, and not expecting any kind of disaster at all, she took her glasses off and started to wipe them with her shirt.
Suddenly - SNAP - the glasses just break, right in half, two identical pieces, one in each hand, and she just sat there, no idea what to do, frozen, her heart starting to race - a real panic attack coming on!
She jumps out of her chair and runs to the teachers - HELP she yells, my glasses just broke, this is as disaster, a nightmare - HELP! They were calm, too calm, and just casually suggested that she take the make-up exam the next week. They didn't get that she had a whole set of ap exams to take, one week after the other. Then they asked if she could just take the test without her glasses, but she couldn't do that because her eyes were really bad and she really couldn't see without them. Finally they were just like, well, sorry, we can't do anything for you, it's all on you.

She thought it would end in total disaster but at that moment a librarian from her school walked by, and, as everyone knows, librarians can handle pretty much any emergency, and this definitely was one - her final grades depended on it! So, they ran to the library, the seconds ticking by, and there they found some paper crafting tape, like masking tape, and she wraps it all up like its a broken arm, and it works! BUT, it takes a really long time, and the kids have already are started in on their ap english exam.
She runs back to her seat and hasn't even had a chance to do the pre-bubbling. By the time she actually gets to the multiple choice section, she's way behind. She gets filled with fear and anxiety - this is the kind of scary story that happens to other people not to her - and she just starts filling in random answers, nervous, trying to catch up.
Half of her mind is throwing herself a pity party and can't get past the fact that her glasses broke right before her ap exam, and the other half is trying to rally and recover. Her glasses started coming apart, of course, and every two seconds she had to reach up and adjust them to keep them on, and so she could see the test she was taking.
She was so behind, and so out of it, and practically crying, tears, pain - but finally, she got through it, for better or worse, and even though she had an AP Exam Disaster, at least she was done. She went home and cried about it some more.
But, a month later, in June, she logged in to college boards to receive her scores, and guess what - she got a 5, the maximum best you can get. She had been so ready to give up, and she had spent a lot of time being really upset about it, but in the end, she pushed through and was rewarded for her efforts! That's parity!

I wasn’t her fault though. I feel for her. Thought I did bad on my AP world history exam, and I got a 5. Thanks to this sweet girl for sharing this. There has to be APAA. AP anxiety awareness. I know I maybe overreacting but there is a lot of pressure on teens/students. School is important of course and when you’re a student, school is one of your top priorities and you worry for any test or exam. Even if you’re a relatively good student.
For my AP English exam this year, I had a mini panic attack and ended up only writing one of the three essays. I'd be blessed by the gods above if I get a 3.

hi, this is so random but i'm in 9th grade and I'm going to take my first AP test. I apologize in advance, because I'm going to rant for a moment, since in a way, writing my thoughts out is kind of cathartic, it allows me to let go of my stresses for a brief period of time. So hopefully someone will read this.
Ok. i hate this, im going to fail my AP chinese test, and worst of all... I'm Chinese American, so I feel like there is this extra added pressure even though I was already so stressed in the first place. Because it's not like I just took some Chinese classes in school and then took the exam and failed, that would be different. Instead, if I fail I'm going to be so ashamed and embarrassed and I'll disappoint so many people. My parents were like "Oh, you're an ABC (American Born Chinese), you've been going to Chinese school every Sunday for almost a decade and you grew up speaking Chinese as your second language, so that means you're going to pass! My Chinese teacher will get my score, and I'm dreading the day she does because she said everyone in her class last year got a 5, so I'm extremely scared I'm going to be the only one who fails.
But the truth is, my Chinese isn't as good as it should be in my circumstance. And I'm not downplaying this or anything, because my Chinese really is below average compared to what level I should be at. See, I've been going to Chinese school every Sunday to learn Chinese for the past 9 years, almost 10. My classmates have always been better at Chinese than me, my reading skills are horrendous, I can't write good either, and my speaking... ughhh i don't want to talk about that. I am so going to fail this exam, and it's on May 21rst. Happy the girl in the vid got a 5, i just wish I could too :(

Well, yeah. The grading scale goes from 1 - 5.
1 - no recommendation (no chance)
2 - possibly qualified (unlikely to get college credit)
3 - qualified (somewhat likely to get college credit)
4 - well qualified (likely to get college credit)
5 - extremely well qualified (definitely get college credit, what big colleges like Ivy League want).

exactly, i studied hard for a social studies quiz in 6th grade and got a 57. Then a few weeks later, I had another quiz that I completely forgot to study for. I didn't study at all and went in completely blind, and ended up getting an 87.

I’m really scared for when I’m older and have to take exams like this. I am good at doing all the work and I understand things (this is mainly for math) But I’m a horrible test taker. I get really stressed and nervous. At least I have a couple years before I have to do this.

I was the one who had a panic attack during math test in college and the final exam. I felt like I was going to die or I just doubting myself for wanted to pass the math class. When I looked up the grades, I got a C on math. It's a good one and I felt so relieved with tears. So yeah, I like to thank you for this, it made me feel like better and encouraged to myself.

I don't think she guessed everything. She was probably exaggerating when she said she guessed everything, and in reality she might've been more nervous and missed a few extra questions, rather than just plain guessing. She also probably studied a lot before the exam, and it's very likely that she was so devastated because she studied hard to get a perfect 5 and now she thinks she'll get a 4. So I don't think she was just randomly guessing.

Wtf? I unexpectedly guessed on like most of the questions on my AP exam yesterday and I'm predicting that I will extremely likely get a 1 or 2. I would be extremely surprised and pleased with a 3, frankly.

Omg they got rid of staar testing when i entered 3rd grade(when i start testing) oof gl with it i heard it was terrible.
Omg this exact thing happened to me too! It was our last class of the day and my glasses started to get a little dirty so naturally I went to clean it with my neck tie (since I didn't have anything else on me) I was cleaning it up like normal and like in this video it just legit cracked in half at the center, my glasses were already broken tho but only at the part where the glasses and the part where you put it on your ears, so my dad had to put air dry clay around it and it worked normally. I was shocked that it broke but thank fully it was the end of the day and I could still read with my vision if I look a little closer. I showed my class that my glasses broke like- "wait ohno my glasses broke" and showed it to the whole class we ended up having a good laugh about it and went back to the lesson, my dad was able to fix it with some clay again but when quarantine started it just broke completely TwT now I haven't worn any glasses in a year but Thankfully I can still see xd
And then people wonder why I wear contacts...
I’d still opt for glasses, but that’s for reasons beyond this video.

I am amaze to people whom panic or forgot what are the right answers an get a passing grade. The storybooth is one of the best sources of lessons and hope more stories are to be told.
I can truly relate to this story, Actually itS been something around 1 or 2 months it was the First day honors exam of my BSc Zoology 1st Year & On the way to my exam center I found one part of my specs was broken up! I didn't notice how?.... but thank god The idea of Sticking them together with the help of craft tape came to my mind.... & What's now i borrowed Craft Tape from The College's Staff Room and did what i could!

It’s always good to stress a little bit! Because if you’re too relaxed you’re probably too confident, although confidence is good it’s always good to be on your toes and be aware therefore you’re more likely to be ready for the unexpected.
My glasses also broke before my exams because I fell over while trying to impress this girl I liked when I was younger. Jeez~ really makes me feel like an idiot now.

yep, i hate this, im going to fail my AP chinese test, and worst of all... I'm Chinese American, so I feel like there is this extra added pressure even though I was already so stressed in the first place. Because it's not like I just took some Chinese classes in school and then took the exam and failed, that would be different. Instead, if I fail I'm going to be so ashamed and embarrassed and I'll disappoint so many people. My parents were like "Oh, you're an ABC (American Born Chinese), you've been going to Chinese school every Sunday for almost a decade and you grew up speaking Chinese as your second language, so that means you're going to pass!
But the truth is, my Chinese isn't as good as it should be in my circumstance. And I'm not downplaying this or anything, because my Chinese really is below average compared to what level I should be at. See, I've been going to Chinese school every Sunday to learn Chinese for the past 9 years, almost 10. My classmates have always been better at Chinese than me, my reading skills are horrendous, I can't write good either, and my speaking... ughhh i don't want to talk about that. I am so going to fail this exam, and it's on May 21rst, I swear, I've never been so stressed. Sorry for the long rant, in a way, writing my thoughts out is kind of cathartic, it allows me to let go of my stresses for a brief moment.

I can relate to this as I have glasses and they broke and I had to go to the nurse and get them taped constantly (because I went to the nurses office so much me and the nurse became good friends after that)

Can i share my story similar to this one??
So...i had a language test, and it were actually our mid-terms (i live in a country were students are taught English and this language) and we had 2 exams on that day specifically Science and that subject.
We also had to do this Portfolio thingy where you display activies that you did during that specific term. Like for example, *On the Term 3 Test we had to do our Term 3 Portfolio*
I was a lazy kid so i didn’t do it until the last minute, which meant i had less time to study for the 2 Tests.
In that term, i found Science i bit hard (i was one of the smart kids in my class) but, i was honestly pretty good at that subject.
So...my schedule was:
7:00 AM: We had to do our MATH Test
9:30: We went home
10:00: I started to do the Portfolio
12:00 PM: I ate
1:00: Finished napping for a bit
1:20: Did it again
7:30: Ate dinner
8:20: Did the thing again
9:10: Took a quick shower
9:30: Studied for Science
And went to sleep.
The next day i was hella anxious thinking that
*GURL YOU’RE GONNA FAIL*
Btw i was a faithful soul, i never cheated in an exam ever in my life, so i knew that i screwed up..
I did the test trying to remember everything our teacher taught us, but in the back of my mind i was like
*AHAHAHAHAHH YOU’RE GOIN’ TO FAIL WHY DID YOU NOT STUDY AJGWNSIWHWN*
Sooo..i finished the test, went home, and did the thing again (We had another exam after that day and was the same day on where we had to pass the Portfolio)
Then.....a couple days later, our teacher called us one by one to give out our scores..some names were called, and it was my turn.
I was having a mini mental breakdown knowing that i’m gonna fail but....
