William was always a sweet, innocent, well-behaved kid in school. He never skipped classes, never bullied anyone or was rude to teachers, AND, he never cheated. All that was about to change.
There was one subject that he just couldn't seem to nail the finals on. Through his Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior years - every time he got to the end of the semester, he failed that math exam. Even though he got great grades on all the classes and tests during the year, and he really DID know the material, had studied hard, there was something about that final test that just had him going blank, every year, and he got F's on them.
He just ended up feeling an intense amount of pressure, fear and anxiety leading up to those final tests and exams, and those feelings messed him up on test day, in a big way.
As if that pressure wasn't enough in his first three years in high school, the final final final math exam, in his senior year, had to be passed in order to graduate.
He studied hard leading up to it, and followed the teacher's advice by studying the night before but going to bed early enough to be rested and ready when the test began. And, of course, when he woke up, all that stress and pressure and anxiety and nerves wiped all of that studying and all of that knowledge right out of his head. He didn't know what to do - his mind was a total and complete blank, and there he was sitting at his desk waiting for the teacher to pass around the final exams.
The teacher gave his usual speech: "no talking, no phones, no cheating, blah, blah, blah" and that was it, time to begin.
Right away Williams mind started talking to him, freaking him out even more, saying things to himself like "oooh, you're gonna fail, you don't know this stuff, you might as well put your pencil down and walk out right now."
Part of him wanted to do just that - walk out - tell the teacher "hey, I'll just take Summer School" or "I'll repeat the 12th grade if I have to." But his parents would absolutely kill him, would be so disappointed in him, and really, he would be disappointed in himself too.
And, with only 30 minutes left, and only 10 out of the 50 questions left on the exam, he felt totally defeated, done, ruined.
On the verge of tears, on the verge of a nervous breakdown, desperate, William noticed that the kid sitting in front of him had already finished his test, and he had just put it down on the floor next to him.
With 30 minutes left, and 40 more questions to answer, AND a finished test sitting right in front of him, he felt he had to take the risk. He copied every single one of the answers from the other kid's test, and when the bell rang he had just finished copying over the last answer - cheating, cheated, the whole thing. He had figured out how to cheat and did.
He was just happy to be done and tried to put the whole cheating thing behind him. A couple of weeks later, his guidance counselor called him to let him know he had passed. He was overjoyed - had been so worried that he wouldn't graduate on time, and his parents were so relieved to hear that he had finally passed a math exam and it was the one that mattered most!
But that same night, he started to feel it - guilt - he had cheated, plain and simple, and there was no getting around it. Nobody else knew, but he did, and that was enough to make him feel really bad. He was now one of the cheaters.
On graduation day, as he was standing on stage getting his high school diploma, with his parents and everyone cheering for him, all he could hear was a little voice in his head telling him "YOU DON'T DESERVE THIS. DON'T DESERVE THE DIPLOMA. DON'T DESERVE THE CHEERS."
Even though he cheated, graduated and no one found out, he carries that guilt around with him always. He did not earn it.

Cheating has saved my ass on so many occasions and I feel no shame. The school system is garbage and I'm just doing what I can to get through it so I can do what I want to do as an adult. And that sounds super shady but I mean it's super true.

So here’s the thing about this story:
I’m a good student. I pass all my classes, pass all my tests, and so on. So, there’s this one exam that I cheated on. It’s like one out of a thousand tests I took (figurative language). I don’t regret it, because I know I’m a good student and I know I have the capability. So even if i didn’t know the answers to one question, I think it was ok to cheat because:I knew i was a good student, it was a routine exam I got every few weeks, and I studied the subjects I didn’t know after. So I think the best students know when they have to study and are good students usually, but they also know when to take risks and when cheating counts. I know some people may not agree with me, but it’s what I think
I’m a good student as well and I cheated on my math course. I feel guilty about it, but I felt the need to do it so I can manage the rest of my schoolwork. Lesson learned, I won’t cheat again.

I read a lot of comments saying that this guy shouldn't be feeling guilty and cheating is ok but the reason why he can feel guilty is because he never cheated in his life up until that moment and knew it was wrong. Imma be honest, I would’ve done the same thing. When you got everyone expecting you to pass and you’re in a situation where if you fail you’re not graduating, I would’ve took the risk and cheat. One time I didn’t know any of the answers to a vocabulary test in like 10th grade so I looked at the dude next to me’s paper. He had like three answers so far so I just copied them real quick and looked away. I waited for him to write something else down, I was only occasionally looking at his paper. The teacher looked up in my direction so I panicked and wrote some random words in the blanks on my test. They were actual random words that I thought I remembered from the study guide ( I looked at the study like once). When the teacher looked away, I turned back to the dude’s paper and saw his paper which looked exactly like mine. When I put it that way, it sounds like he was obviously cheating off me, but I didn’t think of it like that at the time, I thought I just got all the answers right so far. I was so proud of myself so I just kept writing down random words that I thought were on the study guide, and occasionally looking at the dude’s paper, only the see that all my answers were like his, once again. I finished putting words in the blanks and looked up to see the teacher looking in my direction again. I waited till the teacher looked away to look at the dude’s paper again. All the answers were the same. I got up and gave the test to the teacher, thinking I got like a 100 on the test. Soon the dude got up to give his to the teacher. The bell soon rang and I got up to put my stuff in my book bag. That’s when I overheard the dude saying he cheated off the smartest girl in the class to his friend. His friend just laughed and asked who. The dude said he cheated off me. My stomach dropped, that means I failed. I got really mad all of a sudden so I when up to him and gave him a piece of my mind. I said, “well that sucks for you, I didn’t know any of the answers to the test.” After that, I walked away. I felt really good because karma got him for cheating off of me, but karma got me too for cheating off him, who was cheating off me. So basically I was cheating off myself. I didn’t really care about getting a bad grade just this once because my parents weren’t really strict, and I had all A’s. In conclusion, I will NEVER cheat again, especially when I’m the smartest in the class.
Oh, and I failed the test.

No, an exam wouldn't teach you what you need for 1 specific job. If it was an exam for the job you wanted you wouldn't cheat on it. What I am saying is "Most" Exams are an utter waste of time, nothing more nothing less. If you wanted to do something in life you should study for THAT subject not everything. Example if you wanted to become a scientist you would study science and maths not everything because what would you do with all that other useless information?

I have weekly spelling test too! One of my classmate cheat every single time but it seems like he never regreted it.
Most of the times I don't care, but 'someone' *cough* Dania *cough* , was wondering what an answer was to this assessment we were having(For Religious Studies- RS). Next thing I know, my book was in her hands and she was rereading what I said, copying some of the sentences... I didn't get a high grade. Since she copied me, she didn't get a high grade either. IN YOUR FACE!! is what I would've said, but instead I sat there smiling at my test.
I did feel bad about my grade, but Dania came to the rescue, I probably would've sat there sad if she hadn't copied me.

Someone accused me of cheating and wanted to tell the teacher. Now I don’t know who it was. I’m not against with anyone who’s in my class. I’m known as a good student. Now our teacher said we can cheat but don’t let him catch you. In a joking matter. So I don’t understand why they wanted to snitch on me.
It’s not going to make their grade be any better.

Here’s a tip: You shouldn’t study the night before an exam or test because all the tension that goes throughout your body will impact on your memory, and stresses. Make sure you study almost a week before the exam and that way, you will feel relief and you’ll be able to ace any exam any day;)

It’s not like as if you’re making someone else fail. If you want to take a risk, take it. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with cheating in school. The only drawback is that you won’t really take in all of the info you learned in that unit and you’ll have to re teach it to yourself before college.
I am a person’s who guilt takes over quickly and strongly. It eats at me in the inside. 😣

I respect this guy for actually studying the night before and cheating just because he had to if he wanted to pass. It isn't his fault he gets anxious about finals.
So you sucked at exams, you still deserved a good grade. You did all the class work, all the homework and studied hard. You just tended stress out too much. I can empathize.

Ever since online school started the only thing I learned was not getting nervous and guilty when cheating on exams. Before online school I have never cheated or even attempted it but still had really good grades. But because of stress in online classes I cheated. Alot. But I never felt guilty about them anymore. I even got in the with honors and never got caught. Tbh I didn't even care that I got in the with honors, it wasn't my goal to, all I cared about was that school is finally over

Just some advice for people in school: DONT study the night before a major test or any test really. Study about a month before so your brain knows to remember that information
