Yup, I have 2 of these in the i5 6c6t variant with 16Gb ram. I have a 128GB M.2 in there for Proxmox and a 2TB SSD for storage. Running my 3CX PBX and a couple of other VMs. Very stable and impressive unit. Going to get a few more for 3CX for self-hosted clients. I get mine from Dell though since I'm a reseller, though I pay a few bucks more for them, but with that I get a 1yr warranty.
I know you didn't have the intention to give wrong information, but please allow me to make a correction at 6:04. That's not the GPU. What you are referring to is the SouthBridge chip, it handles audio, LAN, USB, SATA, etc. It's low power and doesn't need a heatsink.
nice review. I have been using the 3000 and 5000 series for years. you can also purchase a vesa mount for them and mount the unit directly to the back of your monitor.
I used to buy the optiplex 780/790's. They were a tad bigger and had optical drives in them (which you could take out and use for an extra SSD with an adapter). No USB 3 ports either, only USB 2.0 but they were great for retro Arcade machines etc. The 3050's look like a good option too for projects. Nice size and indeed make great TV media players/streamers if your current smart TV doesn't have the capability or just doesn't run Kodi well. The best thing about having a PC connected to the TV is you can actually install a proper web browser as the ones on Android TVs are always pretty ordinary and lack functionality. Although the 3050's seem a bit pricey here in Oz ($300AU). The 7050's can be had cheaper (about $200) for some reason?
Wow! This look perfect for me. I like the fact that it's pushing a powerful processor and that it have upgradable parts. I also like that the seize of this mini PC is small and portable.

Is it good for youtube? Like, if I want to take it somewhere but I'd like to take a break from work and watch youtube, would it run just fine? I'm not that well versed with computer stats needed for basic things like youtube. Edit: More specifically, does it have trouble with streaming from the internet? Or live streams?
