Frampton KILLS on this -- love his style -- a pure rock guitarist, but with some great jazzy/chromatic lines thrown in that most rock guitarists would never do. Great player.
Who in their right mind would thumbs down this greatness? Let's see Tekashi69 perform this good!!! From this to mumble rap? I am so glad I am from a different era when it comes to music. Peace
Well ladies and gents, there you have a classic example of the late, extremely great, Mr. Jack Bruce, bringing out the best in the guitarists who play with him. Ive never seen Frampton so “alive”, lol, as he is in this vid. And of course, the wonderful Ringo ❤️❤️
Exactly, that is why Eric wanted him to be in Cream. He is a rare breed, everyone that ever played with him was better because they had to keep up. RIP Jack, there will never be another like you.
@@garyroy3503 because cream was a great band made up of Eric Clapton Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce that lasted 2 years 1966 to 1968 rip Ginger and Jack but this is amazing watching Jack and Peter Frampton jamming
OMG! This is awesome. So few bass guitarists are as good as Jack Bruce, and to sing as well... Frampton does the song justice too. Frampton, Bruce and Starr. That's a Supergroup.
Ever since his Humble Pie roots he's been an MVP. His solos are almost something you can sing to (as opposed to playing routine hammer-ons) AND HE CAN SING!
Oh, yeah. Frampton can play. It just blows my mind how certain superb guitarists are unknown to most. Frampton, Robin Trower, and Frank Marino are the ones I'm thinking about. Marino can play circles around most everyone, in any style, but nobody's heard of him. It's the weirdest thing.
This was the the Ringo Starr Traveling All-Stars around 1998. Saw them at Jones Beach LI NY. Awesome show. Older crowd, which meant that they (we) were not standing unless it was a special song. Needless to say, both this and "White Room" had us older folk on our feet and rocking! lol. RIP to the greatest Bass Player Ever!
I can still remember when I first heard this album, a summer party at Karen Krugers house :) in 1967 I'm 70 now. The days when landmark music released every week !!
The Late Great Jack Bruce! Who wrote and sang most of Creams hit songs and somehow didn’t get the proper credit or fame. That all went to Clapton and Baker. Life can be so unfair at times. Too bad they didn’t do a whole Tour! Frampton is more than good enough to fill Claptons shoes. He can sing and play well! What a talent! They are both virtuosos on their instruments and both can sing and write songs! What a lineup! RIP Bruce
I know man.... I was talking to my mom who was born around the time Cream formed about the band... Even she thinks its all Clapton, having no idea that Jack wrote and sung most of Creams greatest songs!. He truly was a force man. I ended up playing bass and singing initially because of this band! I have always loved how Jack sang, such drama, such bravado... IDK, there aren't many that sing quite like he did! And of course his simply amazing bass lines.. I could go on, I'm sure you know what I mean ;)
As a kid I pumped gas for PF in London. He was driving an Aston Martin DB5 and had a gorgeous blond next to him. At 16 years old I was very impressed. Two years later I bought his solo album 'Wind of Change' which I still love.
Just an awesome rendition of Sunshine !! Peter Frampton's solo and energy are definitely felt. Just an electric performance... With Ringo Starr on drums and the late great Jack Bruce on a fretless just tearing it up !!! 🤯🤯⚡🎸🎶🔥
Im a big Frampton fan since 1971. I’ve seen him live so many times I’ve lost count. Easily the most underrated performer of our time. He never mails it in. Always a 110 percent show. And a sweet guy as well. Saw him for the last time last month in Tampa. All things must pass I suppose.
Wow. This is really good. Jack Bruce's voice is unique and excellent. I see that Frampton was aiming to recreate the tone and style of the original hit recording, and he nails it. It's like a perfect cover of the original hit recording.
I saw PF in St. Augustine last year. Absolutely fabulous! Always loved him. I played 'Comes Alive' so many times I could probably hold the records up and see through 'em!
Tim Allbritton Hell Yeah! Frampton is awesome, I hope he continues to record before it becomes too hard. Frampton live I've seen many times headlining and as lead guitarist with David Bowie. I can't play guitar. I play sax, and love transposing guitar solos for sax. Melodic lead players like him, Mark Knopfler, Jeffrey Beck, Neal Schon and of course Eric Clapton are the best for this. Tasteful without been too flashy and over the top.
Frampton is a god here in Brazil. We love him too much. This music rocks my mind. And evicting many energies and I mulling over now, listening to this great song.
I know Clapton didn't like Sunshine of Your Love much. And now it seems that his effort and interest it it was minimal. People also tend to forget just how brilliant and versatile Peter Frampton is as a guitarist, one must just recall his Frampton Comes Alive and Humble Pie Performance LP's to get a taste of the style and sound he is so capable of. So here we have Frampton paired up with unquestionably one of the best bass players to ever plug into an amp, Jack Bruce. And what we get is a high energy technically flawless version of that song, proving just how brilliantly each can play. I am a monstrous Clapton fan, but I dare say that if Cream were going to play a gig and for whatever reason Eric couldn't be there, Peter would be able to capably fill in. And NOT disappoint the audience. THIS, was an excellent performance. I would have loved to have seen them. Does anyone know the particulars ? When, where and did they both do a whole show together? What an incredible pairing, who knew !!!
I was 17 when this hit the air and still listen to Cream at least once a week. Frampton is a great, no doubt about it, but he'll never be Clapton. As for Ringo, well, he was a steady bass drum at best. Long live the 60's.
This was probably filmed at the Pine Knob Music Theater which is now known as the DTE Center. Saw a few good concerts there. That back portion is on a hill and the music flows up over the top of the front crowd to the back section. Awesome.
Frampton was a good guitarist. Saw him in Camden New Jersey around 2000 as the opener for Journey. He was much better than Journey, and saved the night from being a waste.
Slow hand's not a easy act to follow, however, I think Peter got in tha passing lane! Guess we'll never know how many drummers to make a Ginger! But its more than two!
Peter sounds so much like Eric. Nice and loud and talented!!! Were they both in Ringo's All Stars? This looks like at Pine Knob in Detroit/DTE So many times have I seen acts be professionally taped there
Wow! Love the way Bruce and Frampton played together. I don't think I've heard a more dynamic version of this song. As someone who 'discovered' and loved Frampton starting with "Frampton Comes Alive", I often would be disappointed with many of his follow-up efforts. That album is awfully tough follow-up and unfortunately his follow-up wasn't even close. Fast forward a couple decades I starting rediscovering his music and have concluded his biggest problem is he was so much better live it was very hard for him to avoid the big drop off in his studio career. This shouldn't be considered such a negative. I'd much rather have a musician who excels live. There are many that can't and need the studio to perform their magic.
My brain police are searching now for a reson NOT TO LIKE THIS. I WISH THE 3 PPL THAT PUT THUMBS DOWN HERE WOULD EXPLAIN IF THEY CAN TYPE. Simply an iconic Performance of one of the best swing string rock legends of all time. 4 thumbs up from me.

Frampton very poor!
And a great singer too.
Jack Bruce thumping the cat hair off that bass ! No doubt he is in the top three greatest rock n roll bassist of all-time !
Rest in peace Jack. The best bass player who ever lived. Great singer, songwriter, cello player, harp player, keyboards, guitar player too.
Don’t forget that he wrote all of creams songs except the tennis song that was written by a guitar player.
@@David-vz9ov Yes, usually he wrote the music and Peter Brown wrote the lyrices

I love all of Jack's songs.
Indeed..everyone including Jaco, Geezer, Gaddy, Claypool LEARNED at Jacks Knee...Matt NYC
Jack had impeccable intonation on fretless, even while singing.
Too right mate. One of the greatest bass players ever. And PF wasn't too shabby either
Frampton is a master guitarist!!!!
Wow! This was pure genius at 76 I can't move around but I can nod my head and listen. I'm so happy.
No one plays the bass like jack fucking legend

Idiots who know sod all about music probably. This is a brilliant version.
probably some Clapton fanboys

Brilliant
Love Peter on this. This must have been a thrill even for him to play with Jack.

Frampton is sure no slouch in the guitar. One of the very best, actually.
got to see he and Clapton play a few weeks ago, many grins on stage that night.

What a great jam between these two and they both looked like they were having a ball too . ❤
I didn't know Frampton was that good. That was out of sight.
Where have you been that you didn't know Frampton is a killer guitarist? Look at some of the videos of him on RUclips.
