  • If you've ever eaten ice cream right out of the pint, you know how annoying it is to have freezing hands! This tutorial uses my GirlyGrrlStyle "Cozy Grrl Pattern" dropping on 01/12/2022 on Etsy as a digital download. The pattern will have both the "Cool Grrl" pattern for pints of ice cream, and the "Hot Grrl" pattern for microwaveable bowl cozies.

    You gave some wonderfully clear directions. Very easy to follow! Thank you 🙏. I’m not new to sewing but always appreciate someone who is clear and doesn’t skip steps. I did end up cutting my corners 3” by 2.5” because I found I liked the tighter fit around the pint size containers. It was a little to loose and moving around a bit using your measurements, which made it harder to hold on to. But again, I still have come back to your videos for the best explanation of steps!! 😊🎈

    Also you can use fleece for the batting, I did and it work wonderful. Also I use a thin faux leather for the inside so I can wipe it out its wonderful. I am also gonna try and use heat n bond ultra hold so I don't have to sew the X to fuse my fleece and cotton fabric together.

    Wow! I just watched a few videos on how to make these cozies and I didn't want to spend a lot of money on templates.... your video is the easiest to follow and I love all the tips like cutting the batting shorter than the fabric to make the cozy less bulky. Thanks so much. I love love love this. Running now to try it. 🥰

    Hello! Can you please tell me if the template you are referring to has the 10 inch square and the 9.5 inch square included, or is it only the template you showed in your video to make the marks for the darts in the ice cream cozy? Thank you. 😊

    • @thecraftygrrl
      @thecraftygrrl  2 года назад

      Hi Linda, the pattern i sell on Etsy includes the 10" square and pleat guides for both the ice cream cozy and a bowl cozy. I didn't include 9.5" marks to save paper when printing. The binding also doesn't have to be exactly 9.5" inches just smaller than the outer square to reduce bulk and make it easier to topstitch. :)

    Hello!
    When sewing it all together (still inside out) am I suppose to sew through the batting as well? My batting square is smaller.

    • @thecraftygrrl
      @thecraftygrrl  2 года назад

      The batting should be smaller so that there is less bulk on the edges. The 1/4" stitch around the edge might catch some batting but it's better if it doesn't.

    Hello ~ Thank you for your video. Question: If I have using fusible fleece, do I still need to sew the "X" on the pieces? or just proceed to the corner triangles. ('m using for ice cream pints, so it won't be used in the microwave. Thank you!

    • @thecraftygrrl
      @thecraftygrrl  2 года назад +1

      I like the x's because it gives it that cute quilting effect and also adds a little stabilization in the overall structure but depending on the weight of the fusible fleece, it could totally work. Let me know how it goes if you try it!

    • @MyKim1967
      @MyKim1967 2 года назад +2

    I wonder if I still have to use the batting if I use fux leather on the inside? I using leather so I can wipe the inside out and not have to wash them in washing machine all the time.

    • @thecraftygrrl
      @thecraftygrrl  2 года назад +1

      That is such a brilliant idea! If the faux leather is thick enough I wouldn't use the batting. I'm actually going to try this soon so thank you!

    • @thecraftygrrl

    • @dleggio8766
      @dleggio8766 2 года назад

      From the center point of each of the 4 straight sides you measure 2.25" in both directions from the center point and then down 2.75" to form a "dart" not a pleat.
