He destroyed literally the Detroit Pistons forever like this guy is insane Michael Jordan is insane that's a real monster like when you have a monster that you can't kill then you get scared because you can't destroy that monster that's what Michael Jordan became to them....

The thing that never gets talked about in regards to Isiah is that the guy had a crazy mad basketball IQ in that he could control the game and 9 other people like a conductor controlling an orchestra and it was a thing of beauty to see. Isiah Thomas is the most underrated player in history. Because he played for Detroit and we had the “Bad Boy” image people hated them. He was the only star player to deny Jordan from winning championships and because MJ was the chosen one the league hated him and the pistons. It’s why he was snubbed from the dream team and why he’s never talked about as a top 10 player of all time. The fact remains he’s the best pure pg ever and if he were 6’6 and never broke his ankle he’d be in the goat conversation. He’s the only player to beat Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, and Magic Johnson (all in the same season mind you) in their primes…which is another reason the league hated him cause those 3 were the poster childs of the NBA for 10+ years and Isiah and the Bad Boy Pistons interrupted the league narrative. The Pistons won back to back titles in 89’/90’ but it really should have been the first 3 peat since the old Celtics. If not for a phantom foul called on Laimbeer for idk being too close to Kareem in game 6 of the 88 finals they would have won that year too. That foul cost them the game and game 7 was never a contest because Isiah was hurt in game 6 and literally gave his all to win the chip that night, scoring 25pts in the 3rd Qtr on 1 leg (go watch the highlights). That was the single greatest performance by a player in the finals I had ever seen. It’s a shame the refs cost them the game or that would still be talked about as the greatest finals performance of all time.
I know the mainstream will never give the man his flowers, but Isiah Lord Thomas was and is one of the greatest players of all time…period.

That's why his high school team competed for a state title, why his international team won a gold medal (before he even played a college game), won his collegiate team won the NCAA tournament and why his NBA went to 3 straight finals

Michael Jordan wasn't getting past the Pistons for several years. Not until he had coach Phil Jackson, Pippen, Grant, Paxson, Cartwright, and other supporting cast members stepped up their game with the triangle offense. Until then, Pistons dominated, used their "Jordan Rules" to limit his scoring just enough (of course he was going to score no matter what) to prevail. I hear the Alan Parsons project Sirius at 4:45, which is obviously what they would later use for the starting lineups with Ray Clay, the public address announcer.

Against taller guards (and a little slower) Jordan does OK. As a forward, Jordan always had trouble with stronger forwards. they would pound him inside, usually getting a big rebounding edge. Detroit was a better team but they got old. Strange how that happens. Also, the league started to bend the rules in favor of Jordan for TV ratings.

Zeke would not have comparable points in most cases. Jordan could not guard Isaiah. He was too quick, but almost as importantly he was as competitive as Jordan and had a ton of heart. Saw a post claiming Bulls were 27-0 versus the Pistons post elimination in 91. That was not against the Bad Boys. Pistons were still good teams but injury and age and long playoff runs had taken their toll. Through retirements and trades and Thomas' achilles injury that age of Pistons ball came to an unceremonious close. I miss that style of basketball, rivalry and competitiveness.

@@kclark8080 who put Grant and Pippen in the starting lineup?
Who won playoff series over higher seeded Cleveland and NY teams?
Who had Detroit down 1-0 and 2-1?
He HANDED Phil Jackson a team ready to compete for a title.
Jackson got the same starting 5 one year later and took them JUST one game further .

This clip shows MJ playing LAZY ASS D.
I wonder if he was worried that #11 was gonna make him look really bad.

@udYi Q Pistons won in 88 b/c of a crooked ref and MJ is LUCKY that he came into the league between Bad Boys and Shaq-Kobe .... Do you really think that the teams of Magic, Bird and Thomas would not have won 6 titles in those same years?! And remember, Bulls needed Rodman, a Bad Boy, to win 3 of those. MJ and his teams were inferior to those 3 teams and to Kobe-Shaq. Hardy har har !!!

You don't have to bad-mouth Michael to appreciate Isiah. As a Die-hard Piston fan, I know very well how great MJ was. I don't
have to hate Michael to like Isiah.

Isiah and Dumars or Steph and Klay?

Isiah Dumars. Isiah would had never got outplayed by Kyrie Irving and Dumars and Klay are even, Dumars more of a play maker

    • @kclark8080
      @kclark8080 5 лет назад +7

The rules are so different. You can't touch a guy any more. No hand check, so pounding picks...Isaiah would've run roughshod over today's NBA....Period. And Dumars was a tremendous shooter and post up guard with great moves around the basket. Klay is a bigger guy but that wouldn't matter. If its 80s rules, those Steph and Klay would struggle with the physicality.

Dumars and Klay aren't even, Dumars was better, at defense, at clutch and he was more consistent, Klay sometimes disappears... although Klay is a better shooter and when he's hot sometimes I think he's a better shooter than Curry

OISEOZOJE OHIWEREI 4-11 all day. BAD BOYS would dominate those two! Though they are the best shooting back court of all time, I’ll take the gritty toughness of Zeek and Joe

K Clark Isiah was hardly even touched in this video, so idk why you’re discrediting Steph and Klay by that dumb point.
