I bought the phone to help with the need to look at your phone all day. The battery supports this by not being massive and prevents you wanting to use it all day. Mobile addiction solved
No one's has ever mentioned the finger getting caught in the hinge thing. I never thought of that but at soon as you said it, it got me thinking. I could literally picture the pinching from getting your finger caught. Good to know that's not a problem with the hinge, and bizarre how I have watched many videos yet no one has bothered to mention that.
I think it could have something to do with age? Being that this is her first time holding a flip phone it is save to assume that maybe the other people you watched had experience with flip phones before?
Too many reviewers expected too much from this phone it's main feature is the fact that it folds no it doesn't have the best battery no it doesn't have the best camera it has a decent screen and it folds its compact that's the theme with this phone that's what a lot of reviewers did not understand and over expected. The fact that Samsung got over that hinge issue is amazing.
My aunt worked for Samsung almost a decade ago. While she was still there, they already had this in the making and she got to look at the prototypes from as early back as 2013, and it went through a lot of material iterations and they had a lot of fragility issues. when she finally got to see it in store it was the coolest thing-- the early concepts even considered having two types of screens at one point, but they realized it wouldn't fly. This is huge feat for smartphones imo :)
Exactly, its like someone would buy a convertible car and complain it doesn't have a big boot space, or back seats. Some say that "if something is for everything then its for nothing special" or something like that😅
Cameras for me are not an issue,it flips which is ultra handy for putting in your pocket instead of having a big slate sticking out. Screen is amazing, battery isn’t an issue if your not continually using it and I’m sure for normal everyday use you would get a full days use.
I really enjoy the honesty and authenticity of your reviews, Ella! I pre-ordered my Samsung Z Flip 3 and have been learning how to use all the neat features slowly. You are right about the difficulty to do the flip, but for me it is a great way to cut down on screen time. 😅. Before I bought this phone, I have considered to give iPhone another try… so glad I waited… ☺️. My love for Samsung phones is pretty solid!
I'm actually coming to this from an iPhone 12 Pro mostly because I miss Android. I do tend to go back and forth every few years or so. Glad to be back this time though some in my family are irritated at me. Let's face it, it's far easier to use an iPhone when everyone else has one but that's just one of the reasons I dislike Apple. iPhones are great but they really do try and force you into their world sometimes. My family will just have to get over it. I am going to do me and they can do them. 🙂
This review made me look at the z flip differently. Im currently searching for a new phone and the s21 is high on my list but now I’m thinking the z flip would be a good option. Everything on the phone market is so similar. The z flip stands out to me and i am someone who props up my phone often with phone grips and popsockets it’s nice to see something that can already do that. My main fear with the z flip is dropping it.
Honestly the flip has a lot aventages for a person who wanna get rid of phone addition. I focus on work daily and the front small screen is good for me to just check important notifications. Then I can decide which message I need to answer or just ignore and wouldn't bother opening the flip. It creates a chance for us to decide whether using the phone or not. I'm using a normal phone with a 5.5inch screen, which is considered not very big but I still need to hold it with 2 hands 😹 so I don't find not being able to use it one hand is an usual thing. The size in flipped mode is also good with females having no pockets and often wear skirts like me. If using normal size phones I always have to carry a big purse for it but for the small flip, just use a cute mini waist bag. Incredible lightweight. I think this flip phone is perfect for busy people but still wanna be fashionable and taking tons of selfies. People complain about the small battery but you really need to use your phone that much during the day? 4-5 hour on screen? No way unless you are a student and still have a lot of free time.
Btw I got my ZFlip in Lavender and in love with it so much~ Got it like almost a month and had no problem with the batteries or whatsoever. My best purchase ^_^
I've had my flip 3 for a while now, nearly a year, and honestly I like it a lot. I think the screen being weak is actually not an issue because when it isn't in use, it's closed. The screen is protected on the INSIDE. I drop my phone constantly, i drop it from big heights, small heights, it slides under furniture, you name it- and it's still pretty much the same. Maybe a bit scuffed on the metal bits, but that's almost nothing compared to when you drop a normal phone and the screen and sometimes other components SHATTER in front of your eyes. People will literally freak out whenever I drop my phone and I'm able to just casually say "it'll be fine". Because it is! I'm hoping maybe as other apps and updates come, the functionality of the cover screen might increase as it did with the flip 4? There are extra apps you can download to extend that for the 4 so maybe there already are things like that for the 3 i just didn't know about
I don't know if it's just me BUT the purpose of the flip is to allow ONLY certain features to be used and NOT THE ENTIRETY of the the device; remember the "pager" back in the day (even though i haven't used one).. it's also beneficial for us to cut down our phone/screen usage (can save our eyes and the phone's battery at the same time)..
In my opinion, the Z Flip 3 is one of the best foldable phones that came out this year. The portability is such a game changer for me since it fits my pocket so easily and the speakers are actually loud for watching videos/listening to music. Although, the down side is battery life since it does have a small battery capacity. Can't wait for what Samsung will do with the Z Flip series!
I got one but that crease made me really crazy. I just could not enjoy movies and games with it. When I touched it I would see a sort of weird glow. If they could get rid of the crease that would be cool. Until them I am back with the regular phone again.
Yooo nice to see you review this phone. Im actually using this phone as my current phone right now and I'm loving it so much. So many people ask me about it as am going through my day, even 3 weeks later after I got it.
I don't think the open problem is a problem for most* people. I feel that many of use grew up with flip phones and we love that feel*. I also believe that this will grow on people. Samsung did release a statement that a high majority of people who buy the Flip 3 is Apple phone users. I think many people will enjoy the classic yet futuristic tech the phone provides. I can only imagine what is to come with flip phones.
As an old person, I went through the first wave of (non-smart) flip-phones. Even then, I didn’t really like them. Some of the Japanese ones from Panasonic or Sharp had actual buttons so they would open up automatically, which was honestly pretty cool. But, I never liked the inherent fragility of them, they always took an extra moment to use, and while they were smaller lengthwise, they were almost always thicker. I think it’s nice that form-factors are diversifying again, because I know my preferences aren’t universal. But, I prefer the “slate” form-factor for the way I use a phone.
@@thekooosh that doesn't mean they're not innerently more fragile than almost any candy bar form factor models in this price range. The z flip and the razr are going to break a hundred times faster and worse than an iPhone. But of course, that doesn't mean you can't be extra careful and manage to keep them around for a couple of years intact, it just doesn't contradict the argument that foldable phones are more fragile.
I’m watching Nevertheless on Netflix and the S21 is literally in every scene lol now I need to check both out in person cause I really have my eyes on the flip!!
9:00 Actually you can practice flicking it open with your wrists outwards one-handed. This is something FlossyCarter (a YT reviewer) does and it works 100% granted you practiced enough not to drop the phone.
@Justin That's why I mentioned the reviewers name. He had the original ZFlip 5G and has been doing it since it launched, there's no damage to be seen. The new flip3 is significantly stronger so I doubt it'll break too.
@@Muhammad-Jacobs699 But has he daily driven the original flip? RUclipsrs sharing their long term folding phone reviews doesn't really mean anything in terms of durability, other than Mr Mobile who does daily drive the galaxy fold/flip.
Yeah I have practiced doing it on my z flip 3 and it's really easy now. I was scared to do it at first but that flossy Carter video really gave me confidence, cuz he said he was flipping that shit hard for over a year and the phone was still fine so I was like wth am I even scared about
@Justin did u not even watch that flossy Carter video? He said, quite literally, I flipped this shit for over a year and it's still fine. So it literally is designed to handle flips like that daily
I got around the one-handed opening quite easily. I just use my one hand to open it only a little bit, then I just push the phone against my chest to open it the rest of the way. And honestly, the fact that it uses less space in my pockets is wonderful! I can't count how many times my S20 would just slide out of my pocket because of the tallness of the device. Because the Flip 3 is physically smaller when folded, it's been pretty much impossible for this to just slide out when I'm sitting down!
The music player widget on the cover screen is so extremely nostalgic for me. My first phone was a Samsung A930 (old school flip phone) that had a music player built into the front. I loved it.
Hey Ella, im so obsessed with this phone ive been watching videos all night long. When you double tap the lock button when the z flip 3 is folded, you swipe left and right to select shooting mode BUT you can swipe up and down to change the lenses!! Hope this helps and I know what im asking santa for this christmas!! 😂
I instantly felt old when you said that u never had a flip phone before 😂 And loved your review! I was in doubt between the flip 3 or iPhone 12 mini because I want a more portable phone, but I'm so tired of IOS limitations and Samsung is bringing some fun back to the table 💜
First, best flip ever was original Razr. Moving on... Just switched to this from iPhone because I too wanted more options and lets face it, Android gives you about 3x the settings to customize to your hearts content. This form factor is definitely fun and certainly more portable. Let me just state for the record though: Apple has best support anywhere. Conversely, Samsung support is the worst on the planet (for anything). It's a darn good thing I'm a techie because most of the time I just have to fix the issue my own darn self 😄
@@ConnieLitrenta I’m probably going to switch to android too. My husband loves androids. He has the flip3 and I really like it. I don’t use apple support. They usually tell you to just get a new phone so I just figure it out myself
Definitely want one for the novelty but waiting for the next generation. You made me feel better about my spontaneous s21 I purchased a while ago and I started following you 💜💜
I've been using my zflip 3 for a month. It's amazing and I'm able to open it with hand. The more you use it the more it get easier to flip it open with one hand.
@@bashaier44 honestly not as nearly as bad as I was anticipating from all the RUclips reviews. I use it most of the day, I Bluetooth my watch 24/7 and I only charge it at night and inadvertently when I drive because I plug it in for Android Auto (about 60 minutes a day).. but I'm about to go to bed now and still have 55%.
I feel like this phone is not about being the most useful or the fastest. This one is dedicated to the ones who just got tired of all these boring similar rectangular phones from all the companies and want something very different. Also this one is dedicated to the ones who got nostalgic of the flip phones before the touchscreens. For example, I'm extremely bored by any phone on the market because it's all basically the same so I'm desperate for some changes. Also my all time favorite phone is Nokia N93 which was VERY weird and original and different and that is why I loved it so much. So I WANT to have this opening/closing proccess every time. I want to end calls by closing my phone. And that is why this phone is very interesting for me. However if I would not like this opening/closing proccess, there would be no point in buying it at all for sure.
It would've been an easy job to make a quick release and some kind of spring to make it pop open with the touch of a physical button. That would sell twice as many devices.
It all really comes down to packaging. If you can't put the smaller size of the flip phone to good use, don't buy it. But if you want a phone that you can put into places where a regular smartphone wouldn't fit, it's sure worth checking out.
I was thinking about getting the z flip 3. But then I thought long term and my use. While I didn't use my note 20 as a media phone unless I hooked it to my TV. The fragility, lack of accessories, I went with the S22 plus. Maybe in a few years I will get a flip and see
I got one a few days ago. It was hard to pick up and open. Having the fingerprint scanner on the side also made it tricky to unlock. Got an armour case for it, makes everything much easier to use, with the added hinge protection and indent for the side buttons
Well I personally enjoy Ella's style and personality, it's really quite refreshing! You're absolutely well within your right to have your own opinions and preferences on reviewers! :) sure, perhaps there are other reviewers that offer more sophisticated reviews and in-depth technical explanations if that's your thing, however just because you're a tech reviewer doesn't necessarily mean you have to follow that format! This is Ella's review, she can establish her own format and create her own stylistic distinction to her liking. It's ok if the end result is not your thing, however it doesn't mean that she's not doing a good job.
not sure what's up with that kid's attempt to bring down the mood. personally i felt this video was super informative and Ella sounded very articulate and knowledgeable when talking about the specs. also appreciated her neutral stance when listing the pros and cons - a lot of reviews out there rave about the folding aspect and gloss over the disadvantages.
You didn’t mention battery 🔋 life. I heard other reviews say that since it’s a foldable phone the battery 🔋 will undoubtedly be smaller and also the screen time you only get about 4 hours where the S21 you get double that for obvious reasons. Great review overall. I still think the foldable phones technology is still quite new and kudos to Samsung for doing it and making it work but I don’t plan on getting a foldable phone anytime soon. I will wait for another 2-3 years when they improve it. Like other people comment on it’s more of a gimmick right now and people are interested and fascinated about the new foldable phones but after the novelty wears out we shall see. 🤷♀️
Stuck between this device and Pixel 6 Pro for my next phone. One of my primary concerns has always been camera quality, and I've been a Pixel user since its first generation. Now that Samsung and Pixel are fairly on par with respect to camera quality, I truly cannot decide. One deal breaker may be battery life, however 🤷 Might just wait it out for ZFlip 4, whenever that happens.
I hear the flip might have a smaller battery but is a good one depending on usage. The pixel has it's own chip set now the tensor so not much is known about it right now. I would go with the flip 3 since there is much more known about it
1:59 - The MATT black one is matt, not glossy, I got that one, the texture is not slippery and definitely not a fingerprint magnet! I bought the Z Flip 3 specifically for the folding smaller in pocket form factor, had it for a month now, still love it! The only things I wish they'd improve upon next time is more storage capacity (at least have a 512GB variant or SD card slot), allow users to turn down the cover screen sensitivity/change the camera ratio for the cover camera, louder speakers and if I am being picky - add a slightly bigger battery. But, the main things I hate are the cover screen being too sensitive in the pocket changing the clock just by it being in your pocket, small storage capacity and less useful things on the cover screen (you can hack the health app for the cover screen to allow full access to ANY apps on the cover screen though, but it deletes the health app entirely... you can play games on the cover screen and do ANY normal things on it with this hack without opening the phone. They need to add this sort of functionality to the cover screen.
Interesting, I was expecting battery life to come up as the big disadvantage but it never did. Are other reviewers exaggerating the issue I wonder? For me choosing between them I think comes down to DEX. The flip dosn't have it and there is no good technical reason why Samsung did add it to the flip. Heck a folded mode dock station would be fricken awesome.
I love how the deal breaker for the foldable phone is that it's foldable. :'DDDD I will get mine next week and I am so excited. I miss foldable phones ever since these ugly, uncreative smartphones took over. All I ever wanted is foldable phones back and I hope they keep improving them. =D
omg i LOVE that it automatically takes folded photos as a square!! my fav social media plat is insta, so i take all my pics as a square anyway to share w my friends. she's made for me 😍
Just want to say that if it was so easy to open then the hinge is weak and flimsy. Its going to be more irritating when its unfolded. So yeah. The deal breaker for this review is just weird and not a disadvantage at all.
Such a great review! I've been looming at this phone for a couple of weeks now, but this convinced me that it's the one I want to get... also gotta say that seeing your music choice made me smile! Lol
I appreciate how quick you got into the video and you didn't mess around. Love this review! I am thinking about upgrading to a new phone and I can't choose between Z flip 3 and the Pixel 6.. so here I am, watching many, many, maaaany review videos of each hehe
I love my Z Flip 3, is one of the best and easy usefull my phones ever. It fits my pocket so easily and the speakers are actually loud for watching videos/listening to music. I am exated to can place the phone everywhere to speak of do foto's horizontally of vertical, even hanging on a branch, thanksto its adaptive shape (different angle of folding)
As someone who is a heavy iPhone user for almost 6 years now, this phone has been my heaviest guilty pleasure and I’m just so ready to give in and get one or at least somehow get sponsored to get my hands on one😳
It has been over 6 months since I own and use my lavender Z Flip 3 and... I still love it!!! My hands do not hurt as much and it fits everywhere. I wish the Samsung cases were not so expensive. I am curious about others' experience with their phone cases...
As someone who is a heavy iPhone user for almost 6 years now, this phone has been my heaviest guilty pleasure and I’m just so ready to give in and get one or at least somehow get sponsored to get my hands on one🤞🏾😳
In other words, a flip phone is not for you. I like that I can have a small leather pouch on my belt to put my phone in to get it out of my pocket. I absolutely hate my phone in my pants pockets. I have to bend down all the time at work and it is uncomfortable. A full sized phone requires a long belt pouch which gets hung up in my car seats all the time as well. I loved the old Razer phones back in the day and was quite happy when Samsung made these flip phones. Tired of a huge bar to carry around. I find it weird all these reviewers are comparing a flip phone to a bar phone... two different styles of phones. We know by simply looking at them what the differences are between flip and bar phones.
This is definitely more exciting then the fold 3. And I think it can cater even a bit more to women with the style and colors. (Btw, I notice you always make an effort to get your nails done. Which is smart for all those close ups haha) Great job on the efforts! 😊👏🏽
A very thoughtful review. She makes it clear comments are her opinion. However, the points she brings out may or may not be important for you. At least she makes you aware of them.
That Your mentioning flip open Z flip is pretty hard is I think pretty natural for Samsung to upgrade the issue in the next one. Everything is not perfect in the first place but the issue is the thing prospective buyers should consider.
I don't really care if I have to use two fingers to open my phone...What's the big deal...It's a cellphone and works fine...Too picky on small issues...I care more about the technical aspects of the phone and not if it flips open with one or two hands...It works and does what I need it to do and the pictures are nice. Easy to carry around and not a big bulky phone that I have to find places to put it at...I'm not going to carry it in my back pocket fully open or with any camera so that someone can just casually remove and keep going
I'm a fan of the Flip 3 but I have to agree that we pay extra money for extra work (folding and opening, and cannot open by 1 hand). The most money-making feature is also the most disadvantage LOL still I'm gonna get it next week though, its pleasing aesthetic is more than enough
That's a funny comment. I like that you're buying it anyways. When you think of it ,we humans often buy stuff that makes no sense. The funniest one for me as a man is women will buy an LV handbag for more than a flagship phone and will say the phone is too expensive. 😛
I was curious, does the cover screen allow for more customization than traditional AOD? I’ve only seen the AOD on the S10 plus; and there are some customizations available for it.. I think the selfie point is an interesting one. It works for stand alone things pretty decently (aside from the square aspect ratio), but it won’t work for something like a Zoom call for better quality. I also believe setting or phone down about half way open to stand it up. However, I think it is really only practice for calls; as I think viewing content is comprised then. I think the camera quality for the money is quite a big disadvantage. You get a better setup on the s21 for $200. I think someone would have to really love the folding form factor to justify that. But I think a phones camera should be better the higher you go up the ladder.
what customisations on the AOD are you looking for in particular? also the camera on the phone is literally amazing, its not bad at all. i dont like how people constantly chime in about how bad this phone camera is but its literally so good, maybe only missing a couple of high end features on the s21 ultra but why would most people ever use those?
Omg I really want to know the difference between two, I always want flip phone because I hate put my phone in purse/bag but usually flip phone is lame, so I’m happy that samsung made all I need. I know s21 ultra is much much better in performance and camera but is flip3 worth it? The price is almost the same. Thanks for talking abt it, I’ll choose flip3
@@Caitlin4444 love it! I won't replace it for better samsung/iphone unless it's flip. I feel comfortable with it because it's small, and so cute and fit in my pocket. Tbh I'm kind of person who even comfortable to use a cheap 2019 samsung phone, because I only use WhatsApp or instagram daily. I use ipad pro more than my phone, so I may not accurately tell people if it's that good.
I just "upgraded" to the Z Flip 3 from the S20+. At first I hated the phone because of the more narrower screen and the downgrade of the camera. After having it for a couple days the Flip 3 is actually a good phone. It fits alot better in my pocket then my old phone S20+. I still have to get used to using 2 hands to open the phone but it's not as bad. The crease in the middle I can easily ignore.
Hi Ella. i just watch your videos because i really like the way you deliver the content with true honesty and i hear lot of patience in your voice. you are best youtuber ever i follow all your videos..!! die hard fan of the content...!! God bless you.
my mom has the zflip-3 my sister has the fold3 and i have S21Ultra the folding phones look great but i got used to long phones, we boycotted all apple products in our home.
Thank you Ella! This video was extremely helpful, I recently got the s21, but was really thinking about trading it in for the flip. You brought up some really great points that I have not considered, and probably saved me lots of money and trouble, so I thank you!!
I was about to do the same thing but finding out it can't screen mirror and only gets 4 hours of screen on time was the deal breaker. My s21 gets almost 10 hours if I have 60hz on and if I use 120hz I still get 7. Having a pocketable phone isn't worth it If I'm terrified of using it and killing the battery when I'm out and about.
Great review Ella. You highlighted an extremely important point that many, myself included, may have not considered; that is how quickly the novelty of having a folding phone wears off after having to unfold it multiple times in a day to check for emails and other app updates :)
Ya the flipping is a big thing. Remembering when I used a flip phone 2005-2014 I really didn't use my phone much calls and texts. Now a smart flip phone which is used more it would be a pain
I really enjoyed your video. You must be young, because before before 10 years ago all phones needed to be opened and closed. Plus having to close the phone protects the screen. A phone that the screen is always visible to the elements more things can happen to it like scratches, cracking, ect. Being a female you probably carry your phone in your pocketbook. Having these large phones the only place you could carry it is in your back pocket. Since it was in your back pocket it was sat on. Once I have broken a phone having it in my back pocket and sitting down. Now with the Samsung Z Flip3 phone I am able to keep it in my front pocket. Amazing how awesome this is. That alone is the best selling point!
Thinking of going with Android & this phone Ella…..I have had Apple about 6 years….had an LG years ago & lost it. Now have to go back to get re-acquainted with Android at 65 years young😬. Nice Review👌🏼
It is a beautiful phone for sure! The only issue I am having with flip 3 is when video calling the image of yourself does get very lagging with both front and rear cameras. Not sure if you have noticed this as well?
Recently got my Z Flip 3. And I kept experimenting how to open with one hand. Not so much for convenience when my other hand is occupied, but cos it'd be cool to do so. HAHAHA! The more successful method I tried so far was to use your thumb to open it a little, then slot your index finger in and use it to push the screen up (then I use my index fingerprint to unlock it). I've seen some others actually flipping it open (like FLIPPING it up and open, like KA-TAK), and I dare not do that over and over again, afraid that the hinge or the screen or something else might break LOL.
I do hope in future generations of the Flip that the cover display matches the size of the Razr's "2.7. It's a world of difference from "1.9 to "2.7. I don't want to wait until Flip 6 to have it at "2.7.
I would like to see a video about how to make, take delete and save an actual phone call. It has a lot of great widgets but I am 83 years old and just need a telephone.
I actually like that it takes two hands to open it. Listen up, if it is harder you will use it less. Boom. Your phone addiction is solved.
could be an advantage
all about perspective
Next model might require some prying tool
Except for times when you actually need to use it with only one hand free
I bought the phone to help with the need to look at your phone all day.
The battery supports this by not being massive and prevents you wanting to use it all day.

This review made me look at the z flip differently. Im currently searching for a new phone and the s21 is high on my list but now I’m thinking the z flip would be a good option. My main fear with the z flip is dropping it.
I saw another review where the Z Flip screen got a horrible crease in the plastic screen cover where it flips

Anyone that had a flip phone back in the day knows the wrist movement to get it open one handed 👌🏻
With the index finger ready to cushion the pressure on the hinge.
I had the motorola razr back then.. really loved it. So satisfying
Lol. Essentially, you are saying the biggest negative of the folding phone is that it folds.
And she doesn't realize the reason they call it a FLIP...you use one hand to FLIP it open.
Ikr. Bring back freakin phones that can fit a pocket. This is one of the very very few phones that can. Boo big ass phones!
Did you experience any scratches on the display with your fingernails? People say it is quite sensitive/soft.
But, I prefer the “slate” form-factor for the way I use a phone.
thanks for sharing!
Inherent fragility?! I still have my startac, v60, and razr. I used each of those for at least two years and they're still perfect, AND BOOT UP.
I have a 21 ultra I love it!! I went from the note 20 ultra which is also a great phone
then you might wanna watch Our Beloved Summer to see the flip often xD
Yessss 😭😭😭😭
I wanted to get the Z flip too but because of Nevertheless, I considered getting the S21 and now I'm torn between these two phones. 🤣
9:00 Actually you can practice flicking it open with your wrists outwards one-handed. This is something FlossyCarter (a YT reviewer) does and it works 100% granted you practiced enough not to drop the phone.
Ya no. If I'm spending 1000 on a flip phone I'm not going to flick it open. That's a good way to break a phone
I instantly felt old when you said that u never had a flip phone before 😂
And loved your review!
You made me feel better about my spontaneous s21 I purchased a while ago and I started following you 💜💜
Great to hear!
Me watching ella's video from a normal room background to a professional studio background, so proud of you!
I've been using my zflip 3 for a month. It's amazing and I'm able to open it with hand. The more you use it the more it get easier to flip it open with one hand.
Do u feel it is pocket size. I'm a girl and my workout pockets are just not big enough to comfortably fit my samsung 10 in yoga pants
@@spaingirl87 yes! Fits great in yoga pants pockets!
How is the battery?
@@bashaier44 honestly not as nearly as bad as I was anticipating from all the RUclips reviews. I use it most of the day, I Bluetooth my watch 24/7 and I only charge it at night and inadvertently when I drive because I plug it in for Android Auto (about 60 minutes a day).. but I'm about to go to bed now and still have 55%.

I just want one for the nostalgia of owning a flip phone again.
I'm from the era and time where Flip phone was a thing and omg I can't wait to get mine, this brings me back memories
I ordered the Z FLIP3 and kept my S21 as well for my next upgrade 😉
It would've been an easy job to make a quick release and some kind of spring to make it pop open with the touch of a physical button. That would sell twice as many devices.
Yes but it wouldn't be able to hold the position if it was at a 100 degree angle
I love my flip and loved your review... You really are getting better with every video... LOVE IT!!!!
Thank you!
It always feels very nice to see things you can't afford
It's a good day when Ella uploads a new video
Well I personally enjoy Ella's style and personality, it's really quite refreshing!
You're absolutely well within your right to have your own opinions and preferences on reviewers! :) sure, perhaps there are other reviewers that offer more sophisticated reviews and in-depth technical explanations if that's your thing, however just because you're a tech reviewer doesn't necessarily mean you have to follow that format! This is Ella's review, she can establish her own format and create her own stylistic distinction to her liking. It's ok if the end result is not your thing, however it doesn't mean that she's not doing a good job.
@@jamesmarshall230 people like you is the reason why the world can't be a good place.
aww tysm! I really appreciate your support :)
@@jamesmarshall230 why da hell you watch her channel for? Go watch other channels for your tech review's.
not sure what's up with that kid's attempt to bring down the mood. personally i felt this video was super informative and Ella sounded very articulate and knowledgeable when talking about the specs. also appreciated her neutral stance when listing the pros and cons - a lot of reviews out there rave about the folding aspect and gloss over the disadvantages.
Double battery life on S21??? No, I have 4,5h max...
what does 4 hour screen time mean? like you can only use it for 4 hours?
Stuck between this device and Pixel 6 Pro for my next phone. One of my primary concerns has always been camera quality, and I've been a Pixel user since its first generation. Now that Samsung and Pixel are fairly on par with respect to camera quality, I truly cannot decide. One deal breaker may be battery life, however 🤷 Might just wait it out for ZFlip 4, whenever that happens.
I hear the flip might have a smaller battery but is a good one depending on usage. The pixel has it's own chip set now the tensor so not much is known about it right now. I would go with the flip 3 since there is much more known about it
I get so excited when Ella posts a new video even though I know I'll never get my hands on these gadgets😂😂😅
Thanks!
Thats a bummer. I have bought the z flip 3 and now my bank account is $13.45!
I want to buy this phone but worried after watching reviews most of them saying that the battery dies faster what should I do then ?
The Z Flip 3 actually does have an ultra-thin glass over the display, and the pre-installed screen protector helps
maintain it's integrity.
I love how the deal breaker for the foldable phone is that it's foldable. :'DDDD I will get mine next week and I am so excited. I miss foldable phones ever since these ugly, uncreative smartphones took over. All I ever wanted is foldable phones back and I hope they keep improving them. =D
How have you liked the new flip phone? I'm thinking about getting it too lol
omg i LOVE that it automatically takes folded photos as a square!! my fav social media plat is insta, so i take all my pics as a square anyway to share w my friends. she's made for me 😍
I am kind of pleasantly surprised how she manages to figure out minute but crucial details which many people tend to ignore.
I think I would love the viewfinder for quickly reapplying my makeup !!
I really love your videos!!
Thanks
Just want to say that if it was so easy to open then the hinge is weak and flimsy. Its going to be more irritating when its unfolded. So yeah. The deal breaker for this review is just weird and not a disadvantage at all.
Yes it's almost saying that the deal breaker for a folding phone is that it folds
Why did you end up getting? I'm doing the same thing right now but with the S21 and Flip 3.😅
@@MaryJane-ld2js I ended up going with Pixel because I just like their photo processing better and I think it'd last me longer than the flip will. 👍
@@Shelbichu thanks. I also think that the flip may only be good for a year. Longevity wise, serms like bar phones still are more durable.
After getting the z fold 3, I'm definitely interested in the fFLIP as a backup.
You can always use your leg to help open it while on one hands.
Great review , I have been a iPhone user since day one now gone to Samsung zfold 3 phone . Now really enjoying the fold series
Amazon has a few cases that are generic brands. Might be cheaper than Samsung brand.
Hey you can get cheap ones on aliexpress
This is actually the future of Smartphones.
Love the perspective on this video!!! It really helps bring me to my decision:)
As someone who is a heavy iPhone user for almost 6 years now, this phone has been my heaviest guilty pleasure and I’m just so ready to give in and get one or at least somehow get sponsored to get my hands on one🤞🏾😳
This was by far the BEST REVIEW for this phone and i’m definitely gonna get this !!!!
Just got mine today. I haven't got it setup yet but will be tomorrow! Very excited!
6:12 impecable music taste 🤩💜
Thanks!
I love my flip 3. Did you end up getting one?
@@Caitlin4444 love it! I won't replace it for better samsung/iphone unless it's flip. I feel comfortable with it because it's small, and so cute and fit in my pocket.
Tbh I'm kind of person who even comfortable to use a cheap 2019 samsung phone, because I only use WhatsApp or instagram daily. I use ipad pro more than my phone, so I may not accurately tell people if it's that good.
I use my phone constantly and I completely love this phone. 💕
The crease is being compared to the notch of the iPhone. You don't see it after time and get used to it
@@Truecrimeresearcher224 Correct. Most of the time I don't see it so it's not a concern for me.

Mr.Mobile series Into The Fold was the one that convinced me into the foldable life. I got the Z Flip 3 and I'm now fully on that train.
thanks for sharing :)
Yup same. Mr mobile is such a proponent of these clam shell foldables and I love him for it
The camera comparison surprised me. This was a good video.
For the typical user, the cameras aren't a deal breaker. They are still a huge leap from the early galaxy phone line-up (like the 10 series).
I appreciate your review and your exact comparison photos!!
Really loving mine so far as far as the inner screen the flip3 screen is better then my fold 2 inner screen

You rock Ella! Thanks for making this.
Really good video, I think this is a good phone for my dad haha also I liked the first selfies you took really cute 👍🏼
65 is nothing! U can learn anything at any age if u put ur mind to it. I believe in u!
How does it hold the battery?
Imma wait for a flip 4
Thanks for your review! I definitely feel like this is a minimalist phone to where you wouldn’t need to be on it all the time
Glad it was helpful!
I do hope in future generations of the Flip that the cover display matches the size of the Razr's "2.7. It's a world of difference from "1.9 to "2.7. I don't want to wait until Flip 6 to have it at "2.7.
I hope they'll let us reply to messages directly on that screen without having to open the phone to do so lololol
