I've run everything from 2.8 to 2.5 and I believe the 2.6 is the perfect size. You nailed it with the paint, mine is chipped to hell! Doesn't bother me though, it is a MTB after all!
I've got an old green transmitter and I love it. I've swapped the forks out for some revelation and I also run 2.8 nobby nicks front and rear. Great bike for me, a dropper post is well worth getting but you already know that. Overall I'd say the frame is great but a lot of the components (hubs, bar grips etc etc) aren't really up to it but I've just upgraded them as they've worn out.
bought mine back in 2019. as you said it is an awsome bike for downhill, jumping and playing around forests. dropper post is a must and also would reckomend better brakes. nice review!
Great review! I love my Transmitter but it does have its flaws. I'd recommend keeping an eye on the little screws that bolt the rear drop out/hangers. Mine continually come lose and cause slight rattling and poor shifting ( even with loctite). Your upgrades all make sense! To get the most out of the those brakes, I'd recommend upgrading the front rotor to a 203 and moving the 180 from the front, to the rear. More power over all and less heat! I do like the look of the internal routing, but boy is it a hastle to replace a cable. I miss the external routing on the V2 frames. Nice review!
This is super useful to know. I'm considering Sonder's Dial frame, which looks like it also has a removable rear dropout (but I can't tell for sure). Since this is a new model I've just started looking at reviews of the Transmitter to see if folks have had issues with its dropout, and bingo!
@@Jeremie83022 hey ! I still re use the sram rotors however I did upgrade to a 203 f/180r rotors. I pared them with 2 piston SLX and they are plenty powerful
Trail boss tyre melted off after 6 months on rear. Needed new bb after 6 months too. Swapped out cranks and bb to sram dub( was crappy truative powerspline). Also new fork on front as cheap rockshoch 160mm recon failed after 6 months. ( Too flexible. Needs to be 35mm stantions). Other than that I love it. The frame is sexy and the rear hub is noisey too.

It's definitely a bike with flaws but there is just something about it which you have to love
great video! which one would you recommend between the frontier and the transmitter for a bikepacking trip in the moutains?
Hi what size of tires you got on ?
Hi i loved your reveiw, what size did you get
This is a Large frame, although I'd be tempted to get a medium which in my opinion would let me move the bike around easier. I'm 6'1 ☺
@@RhysGarrard im 5'7 and i ordered a large
@@finboulton5084 you being a shorter guy like myself how does it ride I’m 5”3 and might get one
@@crikmtb5338 a large one is basically like a medium
@@crikmtb5338 but im about 5"11 so you should probably go medium
How is the frame chatter and small bump compliance from the frame?
Would this bike fare well as a bike packing steed?
