couldnt agree more with sticking with the free one! just consider it part of the days exercise. when you say single chambered, is it still a 2 way pump like the blue one (i.e. pumps up and down) or does it just pump on the down stroke? i have decathlons standard (non free) pump which is single chambered but 2 way, it cost 30euro and you can switch it from 2 way to 1 way when it starts to get difficult. it is an excellent pump.

I'm surprised that he didn't mention that the risk increases significantly if one is walking with a dog which cows may view as a predator. It's probably not a good idea to walk with a dog through a field of cows one does not know, especially if the cows have calves. I assume that cows get used to family dogs that are around the farm all the time but even with those dogs that the cows know I wonder how the cows would react to the family dog when they have calves. I was visiting a pig farm one day and was with the farmer and his dog as we looked at a pig and her brand new piglets. The farmer said that if the dog was foolish enough to jump into the pig pen the mother pig would kill the dog. Mind you the pig pen was very small and a pasture is massive in comparison.

If your walking your dog and there are cows in the field I would avoid, if you have too then make your transit as quickly as possible - if the cows do get skittish then leave the dog lead go and make for the closest exit,most dogs will outrun cows. The safest option is to not walk your dogs near large farm animals always keep your dogs on a leash around sheep as they will run and the dog will chase thinking its a game - the farmer is fully entiled to shoot the dog which is totally avoidable.

all i am saying is that once i walked through a cow field and all 20 of the cows who were eating just bolted towards me. Let me tell you i have never ran so fast in my life

Cows with small and bulls are dangerous.Yougsters like you have there are just nosey just keep walking and talk to them quietly never do anything sudden which starts them running

I grew up in a farm small village we had 12 cows we sold cheese milk and butter cow won't do nothing to you bull may will but not a cow hell naw cows are just curiuos and get scared easily most of the time these cows come to me is for scratches lol

Cows are wonderful animals & It’s all fine & good until you inadvertently walk up on a mother cow with her calf. Or the farmer decided to turn the bull in with them & he has been busy breeding. They aren’t so gentle then. Then you will see a whole new side of cattle. The angry side. Avoid range cattle, some will have never seen a human & will be very afraid. A scared cow, is a dangerous cow.

What about asking the landowners permission to be on their land?

I find that the normal cows are very curious but skittish. I think of them like having the intelligence of geese except even more afraid despite their size. At least a goose will hiss but cows have ran from me just for sneezing or standing up.

How about STEERS not cows? In the western US, I see a lot of steers and them charging around in a group in response to my presence does not seem benign.
