    I really enjoy your videos, and it's frustrating to see all these new "produced, TV celebrity, Motoring journo" channels all taking the brownie points away from yourselves in a tsunami of "professional" channels that we have no idea of wether they're being "nudged" in any way. It's almost nostalgic thinking back to the days when it was just you and your family doing the best you could to change the world. How things have changed in just a few years !!

    I agree with all of your findings, & yes I would buy one. I currently have a 2020 e-Golf Executive and find most of the new EV's to be lacking in quality fit and finish compared to the e-Golf. But the Mokka looks like it's a real contender at a good price point. Love the colour, awesome! Great honest video as ever, well done & thanks!

    The choice of EV cars available today is amazing. Even better knowing that you two are consistently producing excellent family reviews which are down to earth and better than any showroom explanation. Another good review. It is aesthetically pleasing inside and outside. I must admit the only thing I do not like is the bright colour green.

    I'm no fan of SUV's, and would have an estate if it was available, but as you said, this one appeals straight away, so this Vauxhall is an exception, despite the ridiculous name. About 25% more real world range for this platform would make them all sell very well, if the price could be kept under control.

    Yes I have been a fan of this from the word go. What was always going to win me over is the Opel Manta A front grill look from the 70s. My dad had a green one - same color as this. I thought I was living in the past. Great to see. Aside from that they have really come up with a good quirky formula, I guess in the way the Kia Soul has. Also, while its high up, the roof line I noticed is actually lower than the Nissan LEAF's.

    Yes I now own one of these in Red. This is day 5 and I'm enjoying it. Just be clear the entertainment system does not support my ipod classic. But that's about the only negative thing I have found.. Mine when fully charged on Eco mode says 212 miles range. I did a 105miles on Friday using 44% of battery. All of which bodes well for range. I'm impressed with the delayed charging and the my Vauxhall app. Very happy with it so far. I installed a 7kw charger at home.

    Nice review as always. Really funky looking car. I'd have to drive it to see if it is the best on this platform from my point of view (loved the E 208, Corsa too plain for me. Citroen also a bit plain, E2008 OK and DS way too fussy inside - diamonds as you say). I find swimming regularly sorts out all my aches and pains - good luck sorting out the neck Kate, not fun.

    Great review. No idea why the e-208 is talked about in the comparison as that is in the class with the e-Corsa,
    the Peugeot e-2008 is the sister car. Best really that someone gets on and running the cars in convoy and check the PSA cars. The taller, heavier Crossover types are not going as far as the 2 lower and lighter Peugeot / Vauxhall (Opel)
    Reverse camera is nice staying on until the doors Autolock' so about 5 mph , you see if you forgot to take your deck chairs / picnic box.

    Also, its really great how the PSA group(Peugeot/Citroen/Opel/Vauxhall) have stuck with a 50KwHr battery which is I think the optimal size. Why be carrying round more expensive battery when you don't need it? But they really need to focus now on getting the price down for these cars.

    I currently drive a Toyota Corolla Touring Sports 2.0 MY19 and aren't happy with the seat comfort and I've started to consider the replacement. Went for a test drive in the Lexus UX 250h and this one has much better seats and ride comfort, but lack in the multimedia department. I followed up with a test ride in the Citroen e-C4 and did not like that one. To my surprise, the Mokka-e was more or less an instant hit with me. I really like it. While it lacks towing possibility, the other features makes up for that. The ride is actually relatively close to the Lexus, which surprised me. Now I am waiting for the Renault Megane electric and Toyota BZ4x to be launched such that I can inspect and drive those cars, but I must say that the Mokka made a really good impression and it is at the top of my list atm. And thanks for making a review of the car. I subbed ;)

  • @wobby1516

    I’ve found that on my Niro that’s spec at 100 kw charging, the max I get is nearer to 70 although it has to be said regeneration can be as high as 100kw. I imagine that the Moka would be the same and only reach the 100kw when regenerating. It’s a really nice looking car and to be honest I might just have gone for had it been available when I bought my Niro. I’ve found that one doesn’t need a huge range something that I was paranoid about, like you’ve stated, one needs to take a pee brake. Having watched you blog about servicing in Scotland you’ve shown that a smaller battery, such as in your van is quite adequate although I imagine on those trip a bigger battery might have been helpful.

    • @Lewis_Standing
      @Lewis_Standing 3 года назад +1

      The Niro can only charge at 70kw. They give you a time for how long it charges on 100kw which is a little misleading.

    • @wobby1516
      @wobby1516 3 года назад +1

      @@Lewis_Standing
      Yes I agree with you it is a little misleading however as I mention, another blogger, not me, tested how much it would regenerate at and was surprised to find it could regenerate at close to 100 kw. From what I’ve seen most manufacturers state more than can be done at a rapid charge point, with a few exceptions. Frankly I don’t much care as the Nero has such a long range it’s not a problem. Where I believe very fast charging would come into its own is in cars with small 30kwh hour batteries, splash and dash!

    I own a 2014 Mokka 1.4t SE and find it excellent but whether £30K+ for electric is worth paying I am subjective. The looks of this new design are great and maybe if I win the lottery a new electric Mokka may be on the table. Will give it a couple of years to grow up.

    Will fast charging reduce the battery life? A man in the USA killed his battery in a year fast charging every day. What is the range with family of 4 and clothes / cases if going on holiday?

    So we have had a petrol automatic Mokka for 12 months. So the lane control is a pain. Getting in the back is another issue. So kids will be ok but if your an adult you will have issues getting in and out. We have the keyless entry. We have given up on this as it is so temperamental. Then one big issue is when we go to open the car with the key fob. We find the car will not open. The key fob stops working. So we have a trick now to get round this. We have to open and close the boot. Which I am guessing because we have keyless entry it allows us to do this. Then the key fob comes back to life. We can now open the car with the key fob. The car has been back 7 times to the dealer. Still not fixed. Oh Vauxhall customer service is a waste of time. I will not say what I think of them.

    Having owned an MG ZS EV for 18 months, I naturally compare all the new EV's (we are looking for a new car) to this and I just question why all these mainstream EV's cost £30K and above. We compared leasing costs and nothing got even close to the MG's £250/month. If MG can sell a fully featured EV for just over £20K on the road, why can't these big manufacturers?

      They can, they just don't want to. When they have the option of selling ice cars cheaper and making the electric version expensive they will.
      They prefer to sell ice cars as they give more profit down the line in used parts/ servicing. So they will keep the EV price stupid high to discourage people from buying them.
      Only when they are forced to, or to compete against the Chinese will they reduce the price.
