Amen the battle belongs to Jesus Christ. We have His inherited Power and Authority to rebuke in (Jesus’s name) and believe in His promises which is the (POWER of FAITH). We lean on the Holy Spirit for understanding in context of scripture and by exercising faith for His will to give Him glory.
      Matthew 17:20
“Because you have so little faith,” He answered. “For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you”

Brother Allen I had a few experiences with speaking to demon possessed people and I just wanna tell you from experience one time a roommate was rolling on the floor like a snake having a seizure, n when I touched him him stood up, something said to me cast him out, so I said with authority “come outta him in Jesus name” I’m telling you he screamed and ran outta the back door barefoot in 14 degrees weather. He moved out a few days later. Now two other incidents my friends car wouldn’t start near the Holland tunnel n we were stuck n didn’t know what to do, so I said just agree with me, and I spoke in Jesus name and the car started right away, this happened more than once. I guess the moral to the story is “ let it be unto you as your faith is” bcuz without faith you can do nothing bcuz without faith it’s impossible to please God. #IlivedThis🙏🏾

Dr Tony Evans has a great sermon on Spiritual Authority and binding and loosing, I hear what you are saying, but we do have some spiritual authority and believers need to be aware. I totally agree. And for to him to say that if an angel didn’t think he had the authority then why should we, because God gave it to US. The scriptures says what it says and means how it is. He gave us the authority to bind demonic powers and loose heavenly ones in His name. None of it is done on our own power or authority but it’s through the power of God and the authority He gave us in Jesus name. The enemy wants us to think we are powerless so we won’t resist him. My Bible says resist the devil and he will flee. When the deciples cast out demons they went back to Jesus and said “Even the demons are subject to us” Jesus didn’t say “no they aren’t”. He gave us the authority to cast out devils and bind powers that are in opposition to the kingdom of God. Now I do agree we can’t bind the devil himself, but we can bind his demons and we can push him back in by the power of Jesus Christ!

One night I was praying and my atmosphere changed it was about 3am and a demon entered my room and stood in the corner and told me to shut up, in return I commanded him to shut up and leave and on his way out I commanded him to loose my finances. At the time I didn't know why I said this, it just came up out of my Spirit, the spirit left and later on that day I got a call from my Job, they explained that somehow my check was shortened and they wanted me to come and pick up the remaining money that I was owed. I don't have to life a defeated like and take whatever Satan throws at me, we authority over him through the blood of Jesus Christ, for it is written " Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

What's important to keep in mind, "binding and loosening" appears in scripture in other places as well. Particularly in spiritual warfare cases. Mark 3:27 "No man can enter into a Strongs man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first BIND the strong man; and then spoil his goods. Jesus is clearly "in this case" speaking of binding the enemy "the strongman" in order to render deliverance. In Luke 13:12" And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, woman thou art "LOOSED" from thine infirmity. Jesus goes on to say this lady was bound by satan, but he loosed her by the power of His word. It's also important to understand that according to scripture; Luke 9:1, Luke 10:19, Mark 3:15 God has given the believer the authority over the enemy. Our physical flesh doesn't have power over darkness, but the Spirit of God in us does. However, if you are a born again believer in Jesus Christ, you have been given power and authority over the enemy, to cast him out, bind him and loose. It's important to understand God has equipped the believer with power of the Holy Ghost and His Word to bring the kingdom of God. It's every believers job to TAKE authority over the enemy.

Surely there’s more, because “whatever” covers a lot of territory. Obviously it’s not us! It’s Christ IN us, and yes, He has the power to do exceedingly and abundantly above all we dare ask or think! If it’s His will, He WILL do it.

definitely a great discussion that can come about with this video. although, i do have one thing to say: at 8:55, you ask the question, “how can we think that we could have the authority to bind up the devil?”, while i do agree that God most certainly is the only being that can “bind up” or take control of the enemy, it is still clearly shown in Luke 10:19 that Jesus has given us authority to *tread on “all the power of the enemy…”* which is most certainly expressed in the Christian life through ministry and prayer. We believers definitely have the authority to pray against the will of the enemy in various situations in our lives. Although we must remember to be sure that what we’re praying against is truly the enemy’s will, not just some fleshly idea we’ve found to be inconveniencing us in our lives. For example, we *should* 100% be praying against the enemy’s will to harm marriages and for the Lord’s will to come through, because we clearly know through Scripture that divorce is not the will of God, and Satan’s entire character is built around stealing, killing, and destroying people’s lives and attempting to turn everything in their life away from the will of God.
Binding and loosing is exegetically not the best language to apply in prayer, but we most certainly still have authority over the power of the enemy in prayer and in our lives as a whole.

We all have things we’re believing will change. We prayed, we believed, but we don’t see anything improving. But what you can’t see is that the moment you prayed, in the unseen realm, the source of what was coming against you was cut off: the source of that fear, the source of the addiction, the source of the sickness. There will always be a time where it looks like God didn’t do what He promised. Don’t get discouraged because you don’t see anything happening. It’s just a matter of time. Hi Allen. I grew up in the Pentecostal church, so the terminology of binding and loosing is used frequently. It was not until about a year ago that i began to understand the true interpretation of that passage of scripture and the context in which it was being used. However, I do believe that scripture does support that we as believers have been given some authority over the enemy in our lives. Not in the sense of being able to "bind" him, but more in the sense of breaking the powers of sin and darkness over our lives through the blood of Jesus Christ and power of the The Holy Spirit working in our lives. I base this on: Luke 10:19, Mark 16:17-18, James 4:7, Revelation 12:11 and Philippians 4:13. I don't claim to be an authority on scripture, this is just the way that I interpret it.

      @berniegatchalian2630 2 года назад +22

Hi oldmanriver. Allow me to share some of my thoughts on this, and hope it helps. I believe from Scriptures that we do have power as believers. What confuses us believers is what that power is and what it does. A lot of believers mistakenly believe that that power is to do miracles and signs and wonders. But if you study the Bible carefully, you’ll see that the power is not so much these things, but power over sin IN CHRIST and through the Holy Spirit’s indwelling. It’s living a life that honors God and a “supernatural” life where we “walk in the Spirit and not gratifying the desires of the flesh” that truly demonstrates God’s power. I hope this helps in some way.
And yes, as believers with the Holy Spirit in us, we do have “power” and “authority” to cast out demons from someone (unbeliever) that may be “possessed”. But that power is also not absolute in the sense that it is still the Lord working through us. It’s not like a magic wand that we just take out and boom, done! Even in casting out demons, the Lord is still sovereign over the situation.

Mr. Parr attempts to diminish the authority of the Holy Spirit filled believer in this video, but once you take that step of faith and command a sickness to leave or a devil to leave and suddenly the person being prayed for is healed and delivered, there is no going back. No RUclips video can ever change this experiential knowledge in our walk with God. It’s the name of Jesus that has such tremendous power, when wielded by a spirit filled Christian who uses the Word of God (sword of the spirit) to pierce even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow! Heb 4:12. First God must permit and impart this power and we must be obedient to His timing of how and when to use it, so that we are praying out of the Spirit and not the flesh. He said to the devil , “it is written , it is written , it is written “! He used the sword of the Spirit against the enemy as we should do by putting on the full armour of God ! We can’t command angels either all of these things comes from the Word of Faith , NAR and charismatic movements . As a Pentecostal I never heard these things 40 years ago they have just begun to gain preeminence in the churches

Hey brother I've been questioning this and I've looked up those scriptures about binding and loosing in different translations of the Bible, and the amplified Bible as well. That just made me more confused because I had the understanding that you had at the beginning of this video. But I prayed as I was watching the beginning of this; I said Father, please just let me hear the truth about this. The way that the Holy Spirit speaks to me, He confirmed everything that you said! Thank you for sharing this. This is a really big deal for me, and I love how the Holy Spirit works in my life. He always shows me the things that I question in my Spirit, and in this particular instance, He used you and your message to teach me! God bless you and thank you again! Hallelujah. I love the truth because the truth will set us free! Praise be to God and Jesus Christ forevermore! 🙏❤️‍🔥

I don't know what 'bind and loose' prayer even is, never did or heard that kind of prayer but
"We bind and destroy the work of darkness in the name of Jesus"
No prayer or way of praying is the 'right one'. Legalism and rules don't apply to real believers who know, by the Holy Spirit , how and what to pray, cuz words given by the Spirit of God aren't rigid or repeated.
I don't see any wrong in this prayer of bind and cast out, I mean believers are literally given power to trample over the kingdom of darkness not to cowardly think in corner whether God will hear or not. Though that authority doesn't apply to literally everything
(Example saying some vain nonsense like 'I bind and destroy poverty and become millionaire in name of Jesus)
A Holy Spirit filled believer will be led how to pray. Faith is the key, it's weird to see why ppl think 'too much faith' is trying to tell God what to do 😅um God Himself gave authority to saints through the Holy Spirit. Man how bold and tough were the first generation Christians in their faith, that's why even the demons used to tremble by their word and even presence. Believers aren't supposed to have defeated and weak soul, we need to realize how powerful our God given authority is to glorify His name

Another scripture reference for binding and loosing: Luke 13:16
Satan bound the lady for 18 years with the spirit of infirmity. She was a slave to infirmity which would be sickness in this context. Also, Jesus said she has the right to to be loosed, meaning free from the spirit of infirmity because she is the daughter or seed of Abraham.
We are authorized to put the devil and our spiritual enemies under our feet. Please reference Psalm 18:38 and Psalm 91:13. This is all by the authorization and power of The LORD not our own power.

The Lord gave his disciples a measure of authority, or "exousia" (bind), over impure spirits, and said He has given us authority over unclean spirits. Jesus spoke the Word, and rebuked demonic spirits. Jesus had authority over all realms. I think it requires study in order to use God's Word properly. God gave us spiritual armor, and rescued us from the dominion of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. Jesus disarmed the powers and authorities (exousia) and "made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross." Satan is a defeated foe because we serve the One who has authority over all.

I remember teaching on this passage several years ago at my former church. I took the same position as you--that passage doesn't mean that believers can bind and loose anything they want to. They have to pray in accordance with scripture and the will of God. I did a lot of research. When I finished teaching, my former pastor shook his head at me like everything I said was wrong. It was discouraging at the time. Now, hearing you teach basically the same thing, it makes me feel like I wasn't completely off base.
A lot of people will probably have a hard time accepting this message because they want to feel like they're in control and they can protect themselves and their loved ones from all hurt, harm, and danger. And that's not Biblical either. Christ said we would have trouble in this world.
I love your ministry. Keep up the good work.

Praying my brothers and sisters on this platform… context is one thing
Understanding the context is another… some of you will listen to this message and think it is entirely correct without doing the correct research and correlation of scripture.. Man has become so intellectual that we have put chains on ourselves… YAHWEH has no chains and no boundaries…
James 4:2(b) yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
Ephesians 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all we ask or think according to the power that worketh in us.
Key word “think” the Power that worketh within us “THE HOLY SPIRIT who is the Spirit of the LORD
      who intercedes on our behalf
      Romans 8:26-27
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.
And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.
Binding and Loosing works but there is a process
      1. Your heart must be right (pure)
      2. Repentance before you go to God in prayer (all things in JESUS name)
      3. Know that Binding and Loosing has a sequence
I can go on but it will be lengthy… bottom line is We have been given authority over the enemy in the name of JESUS … the weapons of warfare are not carnal but mighty through GOD to the pulling down of strongholds..
What I read on the this platform are a lot of yes men who may have knowledge but possess no power.
I love you all in Christ Jesus and pray that the HolySpirit lead you and guide you someone or a place of worship that has leaders who are equipped to teach what you truly need to know.

💖🙏💖🙏💖 because it sooo resonates with our flesh the belief that we should be rich and healthy, that's why people resort to such tactics as binding the devil! Many a Chrsitian bought into the idea without ever questioning it. For the Bible clearly states in 1 Peter 5:8 : Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy is the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. So much for the idea of binding him.
Rather we may use the following verse to stand against him Ephesians 6:11 : Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.

I found this video helpful. I was raised in a very charismatic environment and in the last few years have kind of stepped back and reassessed some of the things I have been taught...so I have a couple questions on this, but truly not trying to be challenging but just seeking truth and understanding. I do agree that these scriptures have been taken out of context a lot and some of the things you pointed out, I was like ,"Oh, that makes sense now"...very good teaching. One thing I kind of am confused about is that you said the angel didn't presume he could have control over satan so we definitely shouldn't...but we are the children of God and he is a King, so as his children, in a Kingdom setup, wouldn't we have more authority than an angel? Again, my background may be causing me some confusion. Also, we have the Holy Spirit in us, so don't we have authority because of God's Holy Spirit in us? Like, I understand that we are not God, but can we say to Satan he has to leave because we have the Holy Spirit in us and He has that authority and because we are God's children? I know you mention Actd at the end there...but I'm just seeking some clarity and understanding on this aspect. Coming out of the charismatic lifestyle I find myself a little confused at times and kind of feel a little unsteady and defenseless because everything I use to know for certain and felt very confident in, is now proving to be out of line and context and I am really enjoying learning correct doctrine and theology and would appreciate your thoughts on these questions I have. Thank you in advance!

I have a similar question. Is it a bad thing to pray against the devil? I would think not. Often times, Christians allow the devil/evil spirits to bully them. I know I’ve fallen victim to that. It’s standing in the authority of scripture that has brought me freedom. in fact, even Jesus told him “depart from me Satan.” I would think telling the devil to get out of here isn’t unbiblical?

I also would like to know how to place the story of Paul rebuking the python spirit acting in a female sevant in Acts 16:16-24. You need this authority to free people under demonic powers too. But you must do that in submission unto God and be guided by the Holy spirit. In this you follow what already happened in Heaven. I think that your motivation and heart are to be checked before engaging this kind of siritual fights. It looks than different than in the hypercharismatic churches. This point needs a larger study in my opinion.

    • @jakefrickey
      @jakefrickey 2 года назад +3

I think it is important here to remember what power God has given us directly in scripture. In a kingdom setup we only have the power given to us by our king. If our king has not given us the authority to do something then our words carry little weight. We are heirs to gods kingdom but we are also servants. Even Jesus did not come to be served but to serve others. Following his example we also should serve others. When it comes to the holy spirit, we should remember why it was given to us in the first place. Jesus left the earth and left us the holy spirit. The holy spirit is a teacher, a guide, and protects us. The holy spirit helps us to know when we are doing what is right or wrong. When demons are cast out it is done in Jesus name. Not of our own power but Jesus. The devil has to leave when you resist him as said in scripture but that resistance as referenced in James 4:7 is to submit yourself to god, and elevate his word above your own desires. When you read the whole chapter discussing this it becomes clear that people had sinful desires within them coming out and rather then humbling themselves before God they were choosing the world. Even when Jesus tells the devil to leave he submits himself to the Lord quoting scripture and staying obedient to the god, rather then giving in to temptation leaving the devil no foothold in his life. Jesus had the power to command the devil to leave and call angels to help him, but he chose not to. This was to fulfill many things, but one of them being an example on how to live ourselves as he lived a perfect sinless life.

Satan is a liar and we can crush him but he deceives most and they believe him and not God.

Sorry brother, but nowhere in the text does it say that binding and losing is only applicable for church discipline. Binding and losing is a demonstration of the power that Jesus Christ has given us in order to demonstrate the Kingdom of God.
You can only know the power of these principles and the keys that have been given every born again believer when you witness deliverance from unclean spirits.
Jesus is able to bring judgment against the devil, and the Holy Spirit dwells in us, who has the same power to cast him out.

Why can’t the PRINCIPLE of binding and loosing be used in different ways? It sounds like he’s saying that because the original context was about the gospel, that automatically means that it cannot be used for other things. God can loose more in Heaven than the gospel(including prosperity, health, etc.), so why does the principle not work for other things? I agree that you can only loose and bind what’s already been allowed by God. It’s nice to know the context, but why do you automatically assume that it ONLY works in that context? The scriptures don’t say that this principle can be used only for church and spreading the gospel. There are many people who have testimonies about binding and loosing.

I like this. It's kind of like how God already knows what we need, but has us pray to confirm what he's already done ! I don't pray because I NEED, I prayed because GOD wanted me to have. His will operating through me.

One of the most eye opening scripture that you have made. I am with you on alot of it and CONTEXT IS ESSENTIAL the truth hinges on it. Hope you read my prior comment about how Gentiles are bound and loosed. Mostly loosed really in context to us in the BOC

Jesus’ words meant that Peter would have the right to enter the kingdom himself, that he would have general authority symbolized by the possession of the keys, and that preaching the gospel would be the means of opening the kingdom of heaven to all believers and shutting it against unbelievers.
The book of Acts shows us this (Binding & Loosing) process at work. By his sermon on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:14-40), Peter opened the door of the kingdom for the first time. The expressions “bind” and “loose” were common to Jewish legal phraseology meaning to declare something forbidden or to declare it allowed.
Peace & Grace in Jesus precious name.

I heard that phrase so many times growing up in the traditional black baptist church. They would bind and loose everything under the sun 😩 😂

Wow 😳🤯. Brother Allan, this has REALLY opened my eyes! So many times as Believers, we truly don't dig beneath the surface but go along with what we're told and what's been said.
I've read those Scriptures many times in the past with someone else's opinion in mind (what they've told me) regarding binding and loosing. Thanks for sharing and reminding God's people to read the Word IN CONTEXT. Much love from California to the household of God ❤.
