I have the 1873 Pietta revolver. The bar doesn't go up all the way so the hammer doesn't strike the firing pin correctly. It's this an easy fix? It looks like it is.

I have a base pin that does not want to slide out. I have pressed the release and the pin refuses to slide out. I have removed it many times before. What do I do now and what are the reasons why it is so difficult now?
