"That's not a fetish, that's an appreciation for good socks."
Ah my daily dose of sassy british man an silky smooth narrator.
Like The Stanley Parable.
I could have sworn Yahtzee was Australian
@@thunderheadcinema6743 He used to live in Australia, but he’s originally from Britain; supposedly, he originally moved there for job opportunities.
@@15oClock I thought he moved to Australia following a girl he liked, and it didn't work out, but he stuck around.
@@askennedy6076 why did I move here? I guess it was the weather.
"That means your graphics card is dying, I think." Is a great frost quote but would seem mundane out of context.
the context definitely made it funnier lol
OMG THAT SUMMONING SALT GAG!
Loved that 😆
"There is a shotgun pointed at me and I'm not sure I like it" -famous last words
I don't know why, but hearing Frost say "There's your soul, oh my god" made me chuckle.
I am loving the random outtake-level lines during the credits here. Great touch.
One day it would be nice to have Frost summarize the Yahtzee Tries, based only on what he remembers.
I dig the recent trend of overlaying either bespoke written outros or cut together choice voice clips on the credits of these videos. Please continue doing that, Marty "Fill My Ass Up" Sliva, Yahtzee "Dahmer is my Favorite" Croshaw, and Sebastien "Appreciation for Good Socks" Ruiz.
Yes, Yahtzee. Indika definitely sounds like a font and not...something else lol.
"New Indika heroes, from Bionicle."
I’m reminded of Redlettermedia’s review of Verotika.
@@nirast2561 Legend
@@nirast2561 You can't just sucker punch people with nostalgia like that
Just wait for the sequel, Sateva
1:09 heh, that Summoning Salt reference
love the summoning salt reference
This has become the gentleman's 3MR/Bytesized
7:52 - hahaha - love the editing on this bit! "Yeaaahhhh...."
Glad to see you enjoyed Crow Country, it's definitvely one of the best "PS1 styled survival horror" games out there. If you found the game too easy cus it had lots of ammo everywhere (which I agree, I never was close to running out even once), the devs are developing a Hard mode, so maybe check it out in a few months.
The easy stuff goes beyond that tbh. The most complex puzzles have the solution straight up hidden in the game. Eg: there’s one puzzle that is mostly time consuming rather than difficult. The one where you need to find out the password for the Central Control Room. Except right next to it there’s a save room where the code is written on the wall.
@@roboknobthesnob I can't comment on that cus I'm terrible at puzzles and a few times I had to look up the solutions online XD but yeah, even I could progress til the final stretch of the game by myself, so the puzzles are on the easy side
Fun Fact: The devs behind Crow Country are Tom and Adam Vian. They did a lot of flash animations in the days before RUclips. One of their most popular ones was the Decline of Video Gaming series, which I still quote to this day, and has some scarily accurate predictions of the video gaming industry.
Ah yes Indica, the game about stumbling down the stairs at 3am in order to raid the fridge.
Hats off to Surmount's character customization, Yathzee's character looks just like him.
How it began: Frost "You are like a brother to me" Yahtzee "No"
How it became: Yahtzee "I'm a Battle Nun" Frost "No"
Since I was a big fan of Yahtzee's Let's Drown Out series, I do wish they would do a reunion stream with him and Gabe. Those two had the best chemistry together.
The only time I've ever heard of Estatica was when the Oney boys played it. Knowing Yahtzee is aware of it makes me really hope they continue their playthrough.
3:01 I'm so old that I get the Blues Brothers reference 😭
Oh my gosh I didn't catch that, thank you!
_We're on a mission from God.._
Summoning Salt reference is just 😙👌
"I think it was about climbing a mountain, but I spent most of the time doing anything else. It's like if Celeste was about ADHD instead of anxiety" LMAOOO
5:35 oh man the stories ive heard about Mr Seagal.
Several in particular came from Brian Bishop who worked as an advisor on one of his movies i believe, one of them being Steven closed down a clothes store for roughly 2hrs for "shopping" but in actuality he damaged his spray on hair and he spent the 2 hrs sculpting it back into shape since it requires multiple layer sprays and drying.
Also that he pretty much believes his acting roles were real life situations, dudes insane.
Heading Out sounds somewhat close to a dream game I've been thinking about for a few years, not necessarily in the aesthetics or vibes but more in the mechanics. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, I just added it to my wishlist.
"I'm a Battle Nun." - Yahtzee
It's so nice that second wind continues the tradition of ear shattering loud intros followed by a normal volume Yahtzee
We need you as awake as possible before watching. You're welcome.
The font is Andika. Excuse me swinging.
Did not expect a reference to summoning salt, but I certainly appreciated it
Heading out seems so very up my alley as someone who likes Spyhunter and Road Rash. The muscle car and noire style seemed dope too.
I know a bunch of indie devs watch this:
Nun and Gun, A western inspired game on the frontier where a nun has to defend an orphanage with a shotgun from hordes of the undead and the ocasional bandito vampire.
Like Undead nightmare, but from the Nun´s perspective, and in the Vampire survivor overhead style
GET TO IT
That sounds fun! Maybe you should make it.
@@wordcroutons Nah, not talented enough, But I consider myself an Ideas kinda guy :)
That made me think of the old game "the dark watch". Mostly because of wild western vampires. But that's a concept that sounds awesome
Pu up seat to😅but it hugely y uhh 7y🎉, building a new husk kit i😮@@wordcroutons
@@NOFuture1986Maybe try again?
Nobody's mentioned Nick saying bussy with a straight face yet tf
Games that sound like a font. That makes me wish for a game named Helvetica.
I know it's a font, but I can't help but think of Nichijou anytime I see that name.
I feel like Helvetica is a game that could really make an Impact.
Helvetica will be the third strand like
@@JimTheFlyalright jim pack it up
Prevent the queen calcium atom from going leaving.
Heading Out is just the racing missions from Burnout Paradise without all the traffic or city life or colorful scenery.
The Back Pocket play through of this was hilarious! Sister Act never looked so surreal lol
The Summoning Salt reference lmaooo
The last one feels like a “what NFS The Run should have been”
Thanks. We did our best :)
I'm going to continue to rave about the "Not just elevator music during the credits." The out-of-context audio clips killed me.
Heading Out kinda reminds me of Consuming Shadow, only with a lot more 3D.
1:14 Pffft the Summoning Salt song playing at that moment is absolute genius! 😂
(I'm trying to find it again in my Spotify playlists to get the name but can't find it. Which is annoying, as I actually heard it on Spotify and really liked it well before I ever knew who Summoning Salt is, and it feels bad to call it "The Summoning Salt song" because of it. All I know is that the album cover shows the word "HOME" but I've no idea if that's the artist name or the song name. Anyway, this is all besides the point. It's a good song in its own right!)
Wow, ecstatica reference! Punched me right in the nostalgia gland, I need to lie down for a while.
Been through Tomah before as it's only a couple hours drive from home. Neat.
Frost is speaking truth about stockings, its not a fetish its an appreciation
Yahtzee's comments about Mara betray that he hasn't finished Crow Country.
I love these. It may be "strategically editing your streams", but i can't stand streams. I dont have the time, or maybe the attention span, to sit for 1-2 hours on a single topic
especially given that, as you clearly demonstrate, the most relevant parts can be boiled down into less than 1/4 of that time.
Highlight reels like this are great and i hope you keep doing them, this is the only way i can enjoy the streaming content
8:20 Me, who knows the twist at the end: Oh ho ho, that's going to make you feel creepy later on.
“Ah Spider!”
*inserts SpongeBob clip
Goated Editor👏🏾
10:28 I think you meant "ZA WARUDO!!!" *distorded bass effect on clock tick
I really want to see Yahtzee play little kitty big city and I don’t know why
Shows how the gaming perception window has shifted that Surmount wasn't at all compared to DK: King of Swing
Alright caught me with that one I wasn't expecting a jojo reference 🤣
Now I want to play a survival horror game game where your character is actually geared up and prepared at the start like they would be going in for a dangerous operation, but there is no ammo to pick up. What you start with is all you have. A rifle, a chest rig with like six mags on it, and a sidearm. Use sparingly.
Recently watched The Name Of A Rose with Sean Connery.
It's pretty good.
It's like Sherlock with Monks.
So watch that if you're playing Indika along with Sister Act. (Plus Back in the Habit of course.) Bye. 👋
I like these tries series
Hey! Ecstatica II was one of the very first games I experienced as a kid, though I was too young and scared to play it. Fond memories of sitting on my Dad's knees with my sister, watching him play. I get the obscure reference!
Oh yes, Day Moyns Iowa, I know that place 😂
Nuns don't work on sunday.
I could see myself playing an endless highway game.
Hey now, that soundbite is trademarked! You'll be hearing from SummoningSalts lawyers!
Someone on the editing team loves Summoning Salt ^^
I get checkerboards too!
Speaking of Ecstatica - Oneyplays did a great playthrough of what I’m guessing is around the first 30 minutes of the game
7:52 yeah
I've been playing Crow Country and I've been kind of disappointed in it so far. It feels like baby's first survival horror, while I was hoping for another Signalis. It feels good to play and it's not boring, but like Yahtzee said, it's not scary or challenging at all
I really appreciate the SummoningSalt reference early on!
Why is Heading Out, tagged as a "visual novel"? i say this as a person who is fond of Visual Novels, that this does the game a disservice but it's also just inaccurate. Visual Novels are a style of interactive fiction ultimately derived from old text based game like Colossal Cave Adventure (also known as Adventure). Fun fact: the term "adventure game" was basically to describe games that were similar to the original Adventure, eventually Adventure Games or Adventure-Likes, gained graphics and led to point and clicks, and walking sims in the west.
I'd describe Visual Novels as games that are almost entirely dialogue trees, games books or choose your own adventures but as a visual experience. There is too much gameplay to call Heading Out a visual novel.
surmount reminds me of donkey kong king of climb or whatever the name of it was
These edits are so damn good! 😂👌
Tomah, Wisconsin mentioned
I would love more Yahtzee mixed with Home’s music.
Indika is 3-4 hours. Complete it,if only to see what happens to the points you colllect.
Nuns are tight!!
yeh yeh yeh ... yeah.
Super easy...
Seriously, 2D pixel art is the best the industry has to offer.
Ah, "De Moines," that one we don't hear so often.
I'm definitely waiting for Crow Country to get a Switch port!
I feel that I need to know more about this truck that sold food out of it but wasn't a food truck
Now here's hoping next time it isn't three games I already played the demo of. Although reading reviews before playing something isn't something I tend to do anyway, I prefer to know what the review is talking about and use it to reflect on my own feelings towards the game.
Someday, every gaming video will include a Summoning Salt callout. It will be a good day.
Heading Out reminds me of Deathroad to Canada meets FTL
I'd be a happy wizard, because the sole reason I am unhappy is because I'm not a wizard.
There's an even more miserable wizard called Kevin... the Wizard
how many podcasts does Yathzee listen to that he always listen to them while playing?
Nuns don't jump. They fly
Obnoxious radio djs is just something you can never escape.
I must admit that i skipped Indika because of the seemingly AI generated cover art but every review give it a good impression
it's one of the strangest, most unique and memorable gaming experiences I've ever had. that being said, if you want an action game and don't care about narrative, don't pick it up. but if you like games that think outside the box and present challenging, engaging stories, this is for you!
I appreciated what the devs did with Indika.
No AI, just narrative craftsmanship ! ☦️📿
I heard that about steven seagal
Oh God, a Yahtzee with arms. How cursed
vibes based statistics
Was that an achievement for doing a barrel roll in the last game? If so, nice
Could you add chapters to these with the different games?
Nice
Please tell me where the sound in the speedrunning joke is from. It's scratching my brain and I cannot figure it out.
RUclips channel called SummoningSalt. Looks like a a lot of comments talked about it already
HOME-We're Finally landing!
i thought indika was the one about car racing
You should play fear and hunger 2: termina... Picked it up an cannot put it down.
What if it's Batman but the crotch without the underwear area? Just Bat-Dong hanging out and everything else is business as usual. You know, for anonymity.
jo Yahtzee play "Animal Well" got 10h in it and it is r_aight so far....
ah you all already made a review of it honestly I got stuck on a puzzle a bit later in the game not because I can't solve it I am just to slow with the items so I struggle with it but I think I got enouth out of the game already anyways...
You forgot to describe Indika as “arty” with a capital “F”.
Indika? A font? I thought it was a marijuana.
Indika looks so interesting.
indika is 3 hours long
