I heard a story about this from the Kollias forums, apparently Tony was playing on other people's equipment because the airline lost his. He couldn't do the fast double bass with the pedals he was given, the sticks were a different size to normal etc. Sorry if this has already been posted or something.
I think this would really be a very good time to recognize ALL the drummers who have worked their magic w/ Nile over the years: Pete Hammoura -Nile Demo(94) -Festivals of Atonement EP(95) -Ramses Bringer of War EP(97) -Amongst the Catacombs of Nephren-Ka(98) Derek Roddy -Black Seeds of Vengeance(00) Tony Laureano -In Their Darkened Shrines(02) George Kollias -Annihilation of the Wicked(05) -Ithyphallic(07)
I witnessed Tim Yeung shred with Nile in ABQ, NM back in 2001 maybe 2002. He had been playing with them for less than 2 months and absolutely crushed it!!!
That's pretty interesting. I don't know why anyone would leave being the front man of Nile for being a truck driver. He's great for the job too. He obviously plays bass well and has great gutteral vox. Plus with those huge fucking arms, he looks scary as hell. Thanks for the info!
schwing! you can actually hear the bass work in this vid. I'm glad. It's such a waste when badass death metal bands have badass bassists and you can't hear a single note they play.
Yeah I saw him too when I saw Nile with Skinless and Chthonic here in New York...he's pretty awesome, I met him outside and does some outstanding vocals besides being a really good bass player...well, to play with Nile you have to be pretty much an amazing bass player or drummer or whatever...
The future of death metal is unsure :O? Its more popular than ever, and where did he say this? But there is almost no money in playing death metal Cannibal Corpse sold 1 million albums and they make like 40-50 grand a year...
I've always wondered. But I feel like Karl is a control freak. Which is not bad, but not everyone can handle that. There's an article floating around Google somewhere about Chief Spire's time in Nile and his issues with Karl.
Can I flag this as "too awesome"? anyway, there's a little issue with the video though, the vocals are too loud, the drums too loud, the guitars too loud and the audience can barely be heard...also, Jon Vesano sounds kinda tired here or is it me?
Nile's best line up ever. Period!
and their best album who would have thought?
No question
Jon Vesano, Tony Laureano, Dalas and Karl ☠☠☠

Love the brutal bass in Blessed Dead - this is exactly what Nile is missing on their records.
Heaviest Nile line-up
i just realized somthing, jon vesano was the only audible bassist in nile

13 years ago this epic biblical event took place!

i fucking LOVE the snare in this.
This was definitely an Awesome Nile Lineup!
Fuckin' love the part where Jon throws the horns to the camera. Badassness at it's best.
Tony always kill the drums!
Vesano Owns... One of the best frontmen of the underground.
I opened up on this tour in Binghamton ny ,thought i was good on drums .boy did i get schooled that night .blown away. NILE RULES
Joe Vesano is a beast of a bassist... and a generally intimidating person.
Thats is Jon Vesano.
Joe Payne joined Nile in 2005.
I'm so glad I got to see these guys live. It was such a fucking badass night.
Awesome blastbeats!
this had to be their best lineup.
schwing! you can actually hear the bass work in this vid. I'm glad. It's such a waste when badass death metal bands have badass bassists and you can't hear a single note they play.
So we understand each other. I'm married too and I think Jon was very charismatic frontman.
Nile \m/ best death metal band ever!!!!!
Karl and Dallas are my favorites!!
Египетская Сила!!!
Increíble estos wns... Brutales y técnicos ...
Isn't it hilarious to think RUclips and Facebook didn't exist in 03?! Fuck man. Times change.
Tony is the drummer. The bass player is Jon Vesano. He does have some forearms that look like they are ready to choke the shit out of someone!!
Nile the best band ever!!!!!!!!
i am the biggest fan!
Raw and perfect ..this is brutal attack
And thanks to Tony for making this live vid so awesome!
The sickest lineup! 🤘🤘🤘
holy fuck i love nile.
that bassist is crazy :D
The ending break down w the opera sample is fucking epic on black seed.
The bass on blessed dead.
"Their carcasses will be consumed in the desert...."
Yeah I saw him too when I saw Nile with Skinless and Chthonic here in New York...he's pretty awesome, I met him outside and does some outstanding vocals besides being a really good bass player...well, to play with Nile you have to be pretty much an amazing bass player or drummer or whatever...

GOD BLESS NILE!!!!!
Jon chose his family and day time job because he said thar future of death metal is unsure.
always loved tony on drums. Not as crazy as george but still pretty good
best death metal band ever \m/
The Scourge of Amalek is Upon You!
Oh yeah and If YOU think that the last album(2012)is fantastic,LISTEN to this!!
i concur with your agreement
yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Tony Laureano rules!
the bassist has the BIGGEST fore arms ive ever seen
0:35 should be the thumbnail
The future of death metal is unsure :O? Its more popular than ever, and where did he say this? But there is almost no money in playing death metal Cannibal Corpse sold 1 million albums and they make like 40-50 grand a year...
VERYYY GOODDD VIVA EL METAL
Joe vesano is a fucking beast!
*tony laureano
drummer on BLACK SEEDS OF VENGEANCE and IN THEIR DARKENED SHRINES
Now, this is brutal. Latest albums are not so good in terms of originality
their new bass guitarist is fucking awesome chris lollis is his name=)) saw em yesterday live in hamburg, germany.
He has to be, he wouldn't have been in Nile otherwise...
Anyone know what snare he is using? I really like the sound of it.
@dcs2690 driven insane by the awesomeness
fucking MASTER VOCALS!
Tony is having serious trigger/head tuning problems. been there. sucks when it happens live.
@777EZekiel haha, its got a bark like no other
omg the snare sound aweful DAMN!
@Jleedrummermetal
sompared to the greek god yes :D ..
and because of his snare
he left in 04, it is tony
was george k not with them at this point? he could've done a fucking amazing job
Who's that on the bass?
I'd like to listen to the bassist's direct sound from bass without all the rest instruments. I believe it'd sound like porriage)
John Vesano's vocals are lacking in this performance. He's also off with some of the timing and lyrics. Bass on point, though!
Great sticks from laureano but it woulda been more fun if he played out the double bass full blast man!!!
4:45...o.o....oh shit...
who the hell is doing the growling? all three of them?
Kollias for the win definitely, but would like to see Jon back. Sure as fuck gonna miss Dallas damn it!
is that even george kolias
it's a bass and it's Jon Vesano dismembering it
So what's Jon doing now?
Does anyone know why Jon Versano left? Or was he kicked out?
that would be Joe Payne I believe
You haven't watched a strongman competition before, have you?
@dcs2690 Psychopath is a very short word!! Nile rules!!!
the guy with green guitar
Two songs for die....
6:35 ---> KICK ASS
keep brutal \m/
as much as i love nile, tony's feet suck here so much ha
karl sounds funny at :39
no its pete hammoroa
Tony Laureano.
one thing i dont understand why they dont have a permanent bass player
I've always wondered. But I feel like Karl is a control freak. Which is not bad, but not everyone can handle that. There's an article floating around Google somewhere about Chief Spire's time in Nile and his issues with Karl.
amazing...george is tighter though in my opinion...but still good
its tony loreano
No, i am the biggest fan :D!
look at my work and see how its influced by Karl Sanders works! and wait for my new death metal band!
that's what jon vesano said. why do you even bother to write me what i already know. learn to understand what others are trying to say, please
In the beginning of The Blessed Dead, what the HELL does Jon Vesano say?!
'What's up wacken'
there is no need to be rude
i haven't said anything offensive to you
Can I flag this as "too awesome"? anyway, there's a little issue with the video though, the vocals are too loud, the drums too loud, the guitars too loud and the audience can barely be heard...also, Jon Vesano sounds kinda tired here or is it me?
@Longtom33 Jon
his fucking name JON not JOE!
how the fuck can people say Laureano is true speed compared to George ? that's bullshit. George is better (unless Laureano is having a bad day)
kollias rules...
@deathmetalfan91 george kollias rules!!! george kollis as a god @ blastbeats and averything else!!
Tony just looks to stiff when he's playing to me...George looks much more relaxed. It just may be me though
