By far the best Nile lineup. I like what they've done since, but it's all really dry and sterile-sounding-Kollias is a beefmaster but a lot of the time he might as well be a machine. Difference with this lineup is they never quite sounded like they were 100% in control of what was happening, they were on the ragged edge, and it felt sorta dangerous and unpredictable. Dunno, maybe you needed to be there at the time, really. I'm glad I was.
It's what's missing from most of modern metal - a sense of danger. The click takes that all away. Musicians actually listening to each other and riding the song is becoming a thing of the past. And what do we get in return - a "perfectly" constant tempo. Yay.
Awesome man. I wish there was more videomaterial of him available. His drumming on Nile's " Shrines" is just amazing, creative, original, fast as hell and tight while still serving the music and not overplaying the band. Awesome drummer!
Nah George is better but Tony just fits so awesomely with Nile. I miss his effortless fills, he is no doubt a master when it comes to death metal drumming. George however still brings more to the table for Nile, musically. He has a broader scope of capabilities.
I saw this lineup in Los angeles, 2003 on the "ART OF NOISE 2" tour it was one of the Best COncerts of my entire life! Nile Kreator Vader Amon Amarth Each one of them destroyed!!!!
Lest we forget Tony's era in AngelCorpse? The Inexorable is phenomenal and probably his best work. I never got into Nile even after Tony joined, though I loved Tony in Malevolent and AngelCorpse. Colonel Sanders solos are that of a kid trying to play leads at Guitar Center on a Saturday afternoon and always ruined any of the semi-decent songs they had.
Dudes ive neen into the hate eternal / derek roddy / nile / george kollias universe for over 10 years. Why HAVE I NEVER EVEN SEEN THIS DUDES NAME BEFORE
@DaemoniumCC Thanks for posting the name of the song! I lost this when switching computers, such a bummer. The solo section is sweet.. you think it's gonna slow down, but then fucking BOOM Karl time lol. \m/
@dime133 No problem man! One of my favorite Nile tunes for sure. I used to be able to play it on guitar but I've forgotten most of it. It's deceptively hard to play, especially the verse riffs and interludes.
I remember seeing Nile on this tour in Phoenix and wasn't familiar with the bass/vocalist at the time. Definitely was a surprise, he was a badass. Gonna have to figure out what became of him.
@DaemoniumCC Same here. I actually prefer hearing Laureano play it. The guitar is some technical work, depending on anybodys ability. I agree with it being deceptively hard, because they tune so low on 6 strings with so much distortion/mids scooped that alot of the low string riffing/notes aren't even audible at times lol.
@DaemoniumCC It is fairly difficult, I could play most of it except maybe a couple of Dallas' solos..sweet shit. They get really into the fine points of their playing/technique.
LOL @ anyone who would DARE suggest Tony ISN'T an extreme-metal drum lord. Guy's fast, tight and professional. He also is amazing with his efficiency-of-movement. An oft-overlooked aspect of extreme players.
@Threske Why don't you play that fast and see how powerful you are. Theses are very fast speeds, and he's playing a long set. And you can hear everything he's playing because he plays dynamically for an even drumset sound.
First comes Chapter For Transforming Into A Snake and changes around 2.30 to Nas Akhu Khan She En Asbiu. The last one is shorter version compared to original 4 minutes. From Black Seeds of Vengeance. What a Masterpiece.
tony recorded the best nile album in my opinion.
great drummer!
Couldn't agree more.george is incredible and AOTW is a heavy album.would loved have seen them around the BSOV and ITDS ERA.

@@gringochucha Agreed 100%
@@gringochuchaHey man listen to my band Submerged from San Diego, California! We are bringing back the danger it’s fuckin scary to blast that music
I'd argue Black Seeds is their strongest line-up for two reasons: Derek Roddy and Chief Spires.
Awesome man. I wish there was more videomaterial of him available. His drumming on Nile's " Shrines" is just amazing, creative, original, fast as hell and tight while still serving the music and not overplaying the band. Awesome drummer!
I totally agree he is on point
couldn't write a better statement on him, just the best
Rick Lieffering follow him on Instagram @Captain.rhodes
YES dude, he’s so creative for this kind style of drumming
100% agree... I much prefer Tony to Georges Kolias
My favorite Nile line-up
Vesano was a MONSTER! There needed to be more videos with him. And the Barra Edinazzu transition was PERFECT!
Best Nile lineup with out a doubt
As much as I love George carrying the flame and loving all their albums dearly, there´s no doubt this was Nile at it´s peak. Cannot top Shrines.
Old Nile 4ever
best drummer of Nile ever. 100%
Святослав Сыщенко lol okay
+Святослав Сыщенко no George is better
Nah George is better but Tony just fits so awesomely with Nile. I miss his effortless fills, he is no doubt a master when it comes to death metal drumming. George however still brings more to the table for Nile, musically. He has a broader scope of capabilities.
+Shadar Sixx Kollias is better technically but the sheer brutality delivered by Laureano on "In Their Darkened Shrines" is unsurpassable.
+João Alcântara
Agreed. Kollias more technically proficient, but I just enjoy the sound of In Their Darkened Shrines so damn much.
I love his left china sound, OMFG
+Camilo Barker Official RUclips Channel SAME HERE
I think it’s a Wuhan, maybe size 14“ 🤣
what a monstrous band they were back then. both in terms of pure audio assault and also in terms of presence lol
Chapter for transforming into a snake + barra edinazzu...jus cant take it anymore...aaaaarrrrrgggghhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
They went straight into Barra Edinazzu. Fucking awesome.
This is the holy grail of Tony Laureano Nile videos, no fucking doubt.
tony is a beast. nile hasn't been the same since he left.
totally agree with you, tony was best
I would've loved to have seen this line up.jon vesano has such a stage presence and those arms.jesus.
@@sticksman7819 Dude is basically a drawing, isn't he? His forearms are comically large.
@@sticksman7819 i can tell ou it was the best line up. and i love nile now still but back then, it was something else.
Bad take. George kollias is better than him in every sense. Creativity, speed, technique, timing, precision, george kollias does it way better
Still remember going to these shows! Tony was great! Jon was a beast on bass! 🤘
Laureano is a Drum Hero
Saw them on this tour twice. Great band!
Best Drummer in malevolent creation....toni Laureano...
This is the best shit I've literally ever seen in my life
this was the pefect line up
Love Tony. This guy's an animal.
When Nile were the gods!!!! Incredible drumming!!!
Laureano is a beast!
Such terrific relaxation and balance!!!
True master!
laureano has got STYLE !!!
This is awesome! Great video.
Ohh, sin duda alguna, de lo mejores de todos los tiempos, esta en mi top 5
1:28 that moment when the solo comes in…I wish I could write some shit as perfectly timed and executed.
Who knew that Obelix was such an awesome drummer xD
why the f*** isn´t the complete show upoaded already!?? this performance is Just KILLER. Catacomb´s vibe at it´s best. the true Nile Damn it!
Laureano is a god.
jon vesano
Melhor formação do Nile! 🤘🏽
I love Tony's sound on darkened shrines, George is faster but i like Tony's style a bit more.
I saw this lineup in Los angeles, 2003 on the "ART OF NOISE 2" tour it was one of the Best COncerts of my entire life!
Nile
Kreator
Vader
Amon Amarth
Each one of them destroyed!!!!
Man... this was THE line-up
So sad this was for ITDS only
LAUREANO RULES !!!
Good quality video for 2003
Beastly drumming!
Amazing
Lest we forget Tony's era in AngelCorpse? The Inexorable is phenomenal and probably his best work. I never got into Nile even after Tony joined, though I loved Tony in Malevolent and AngelCorpse. dude makes it look so easy
great footage
Dudes ive neen into the hate eternal / derek roddy / nile / george kollias universe for over 10 years. Why HAVE I NEVER EVEN SEEN THIS DUDES NAME BEFORE
it would be awesome to see the rest of this gig.
This was definitely the best line-up. I think the current line-up is excellent too. But Karl is the only constant!
i saw them on this tour!!!
Art
What a fuckin beast!
please the whole concert!!
fucking sick, man!
@DaemoniumCC Thanks for posting the name of the song! I lost this when switching computers, such a bummer. The solo section is sweet.. you think it's gonna slow down, but then fucking BOOM Karl time lol. \m/
@gutrot2
Me too, the new stuff is just too much of the same imo.
After the Tony album my interest in Nile dropped a lot.
@dime133 No problem man! One of my favorite Nile tunes for sure. I used to be able to play it on guitar but I've forgotten most of it. It's deceptively hard to play, especially the verse riffs and interludes.
I've honestly never seen anyone with single stroke rolls better than tony... I tried his technique and my forearms fatigue within seconds
Kollias is very fast, but I prefer Laureano for technique. For me this is a best Nile's line-up.
Chapter For Transforming Into A Snake... YESSSSSSSS
melhor formação
Kollias, Hammoura, and Tony 3 fucking insane drummers in this fucking great band!
David garcía Roddy!
yes
I remember seeing Nile on this tour in Phoenix and wasn't familiar with the bass/vocalist at the time. Definitely was a surprise, he was a badass. Gonna have to figure out what became of him.
John vesano.
his hands are made of springs man I'm telling you !
Beast
Jon Vesano - best stage presence ever. well, maybe a tie with Erik Rutan.
Fucking amazing Tony!
Good god thats fast!
And to the Owner of this video! HELL YEA!!! this is sick. DO you have Anymore?
@gutrot2 yea definitely. it had more feel to it or somethin idk
@DaemoniumCC It is fairly difficult, I could play most of it except maybe a couple of Dallas' solos..sweet shit. They get really into the fine points of their playing/technique.
A little mistake bro, the last music name is Barra Edinazzu, from Nile's first LP. =)
@happy5crazy yea i love chads drumming esp. on repulsive salvation, and crushed beyond dust!
@sammymesratti definetly and undoubtley man I miss it
LOL @ anyone who would DARE suggest Tony ISN'T an extreme-metal drum lord. Guy's fast, tight and professional. He also is amazing with his efficiency-of-movement. An oft-overlooked aspect of extreme players.
Okay
I'm gonna go take my bike to 200mph now
What has happened to him met him 97 at a deicide gig in Bradford
What show is this? Saw them in Philly and it was absolute heat
Chapter for transforming into a Snake. Fucking Awesome.
oh man, i wouldn't want to upset jon vesano, he looks like he could snap someone like a twig
@unlyckystrike yes he is hitting the snare.
fucking respect. wow.
Megadeth brought me here
NEXT MEGADETH DRUMMER
I dont think so,he doesnt have the image that average Megadeth fans buy.
Jon Vesano should go back to Nile!
what song is this!?!?!?!
He looks like John Longstreth's twin here, very similar playing, no?
Yes, both playing very tight, yet very relaxed.
Yes. So does George Kollias.
What song is this?
does he blasts with one foot???
@Threske Why don't you play that fast and see how powerful you are. Theses are very fast speeds, and he's playing a long set. And you can hear everything he's playing because he plays dynamically for an even drumset sound.
According to Karl: "Tony left, because Tony was unhappy. He wanted to do other things. Then I said that's OK."
I konw it''s a 8 years old comment, but here is the source if anyone is interested: castrum.com.ua/encomium/nile.htm
Song name?
Jon Vesano is a fucking tank omg!!!!
Why did he leave Nile??
@overcontrol
You forgot Pete Sandoval.
@Loathing1980 kollias slays this guy man
@unlyckystrike i think you're hearing the china
First comes Chapter For Transforming Into A Snake and changes around 2.30 to Nas Akhu Khan She En Asbiu. The last one is shorter version compared to original 4 minutes. From Black Seeds of Vengeance. What a Masterpiece.
Best fukin nile drummer. In their darkened is their best egiptdeathfukingshit. Too bad that nile is a band like others now...
so does any true blastbeater
bassist is fucking massive
