Not the best. Lord Marco has a video of him without triggers doing 300 bpm for minutes with absolute zero error. He is the fastest and most precise drummer in the world. Send me a video link if you know someone faster and more accurate without triggers.
@@microtonalmilio5233 Lord Marco is indeed a beast. His blindfolded playthrough was amazing as well. I think "best" is more of a personal preference thing, this is not the "best" drumming song but it is definitely my favorite and I don't even think it was written by GK. But he sure can play it.
This is just fantastic! The click, the guitars and drums all sound stupendous! It's like listening in on a Nile rehearsal. I really hope to see dozens of videos just like this! Imagine, a collection of video play-throughs that include entire Nile albums!!
Seriously...the drummer of despised icon is stupid fast too and he struggled to play a nile cover- churning the maelstrom because of the blazing fast fills you should check it out
Because Tony Laureano is hell of a drummer. In my opinion most interesting/atractive drummer of Nile. Can you imagine that guy like Tony said that his biggest challenge was to play with 1349? I was really anxious to see him with that band, because both kills.
I know if the speed doesn't kill you first trying to remember the parts is a pain.tony laureano really played tasteful parts on this album with the cymbal work splashes/China's and to be Nile's drummer you need to be on top of your game.
Awesome performance George! Cool to see a studio video of a song before you were with Nile, just something you brought back for fun. Thanks for the upload, and thanks for being an inspiring drummer in the extreme metal genre! Cheers.
I'm a bigest fan of you and I hope you come to Salvador Bahia in Brazil, want to see you live and if possible make one pic of you, thank you Kollias, you are my inspiration to I keep practicing drums, hope be like you. Thanks.
Wow George!!! No swivel that quickly👏 wanted to see your band at the token lounge at Detroit but couldn't make it. :( this metronome is funny yet brutal song and title!!!
Everybody is talking about George’s foot technique, which is nothing short of wizardry, but his single strokes are stupid impressive too. Some of the rolls he does are fucking insane
There are a few drummers hat are arguably more “extreme” but nobody can touch the smoothness and fluidity of his playing at the level of extremity that he does.
Origin, Cytotoxin, Henker, Archspire, Cryptopsy, Infant Annihilator (beware all the hate mentioning them somewhere hahaha), maybe Cattle Decapitation, Kataklysm and Braindrill come this fast too \,,\ ofc there's more
The feet! Oh my god! Maybe I’ll figure It out after another 33 years of drumming. I was stoked when I could do triplets with each foot and I have to buckle down hard to pull it off especially when playing fast
anybody remember which song it was where he (or other drummer, i don't remember) hits and mutes the left china (crash?) repeatedly in some passage? I could've sworn it was nile, but now i am not even sure. My memory is a frickin' sieve :|
Something about the drumming on this album is special. People can say whatever they want about Tony being sloppy live. When he was on, he was amazing. And the blasts on In Their Darkened Shrines... just sound aggressive and mean. George might be able to hit higher speeds, but when you're playing over 250bpm ... who really cares about an extra 20bpm. Churning the Maelstrom was one of the fastest things ever recorded up to that point, and Tony doesn't really accent every quarter note or 8th note on blasts like George does, which is extremely hard to do and adds to the sense of urgency. That being said, George is top shelf, without a doubt.
Unfortunately not, i don't have this video anymore. This is just a jam video i did for my premium lessons, it was quick and i did it cold, just posted it for fun here. On another hand, i thought you guys would enjoy the click on the background to see what's going on with the actual music and the time signatures. This is how a song gets prepared before you hit the studio or show, and this is what a drummer has to know to get in the track with the band and samples live. Blessed Dead is a very easy song at a comfortable tempo (240bpm), it needs some good stamina but it's on the groovy area for a Death Metal drummer. The time signatures though are a bit tricky to nail the fills and changes with a click, cause it was recorded without a click. Sorry for having this on anyways :-)
You did very nice with uploading it with click track, I think so. For me It's even more impressive with it, then I realise the speed of tempo you play in. Damn I was always wondering how to add metronome to track like that, do I really have to know all the tempos, to match the click track perfectly with the song without any delays or something...for me it seems to be hard as **** Awesome job anyway, thank you for being my motivation to keep practicing :)
No need to apologize, as a video with click is still better than no video at all. Watching you drum is always really enjoyable no matter what, and I totally agree that click track is super important for all drummers. But for me just as a fan, I prefer to watch you drum and listen to the music without the clicking. I find it distracting. Now, if youtube was better, there would be a button that toggles on/off an "additional sound track" that you could have plugged in as an optional click track. That would be pretty cool. In any case thanks for uploading and please keep us entertained with your drumming. By the way I loved the latest NILE album. So fucking good.
wouldn't be a problem for him as he does double bass with the same speed. i think it's just a sound choice as the double footed blasts sound slightly different. on the other hand, i never realized he did it double footed which speaks for tony's insane chops
Almost 40 and still the best in the industry... it's been an honor hearing and watching you play.
xJMAN07x the best?? Pshhh

@@microtonalmilio5233ya as ONE THING AND ONE THING ONLY, blast beats. Beside that, George is better in every aspect. Ur judgement is awful
Amazing as usual, George. And hail Tony Laureano who gave birth to this breathtaking drum track.
jesus used george's technique to walk on the water
Awesome! LOL!
ahahahaha lmao
öbcük lelik hahahahaha good one!!
Yup
Lol
Composed by Tony Laureano's sick mind, perfection achieved by Kolias.
This is just fantastic! The click, the guitars and drums all sound stupendous! It's like listening in on a Nile rehearsal. I really hope to see dozens of videos just like this! Imagine, a collection of video play-throughs that include entire Nile albums!!
Playing "Sad But True" is a real dare to this guy :)
Arguably the best death metal drummer of all times.
George makes it look so effortless. Ive been watching your vids for quite some time and to no suprise ya havent slowed down at all lol
Some of these older songs are ridiculously difficult
Seriously...the drummer of despised icon is stupid fast too and he struggled to play a nile cover- churning the maelstrom because of the blazing fast fills you should check it out

Tmt C. When I first heard black seeds of vengeance I was like “damn, this Derek roddy guy doesn’t fuck around.”
One of my favorite songs of all time!😎🤘
George legit killing it as George always does, never ceases to amaze me!!
I could watch that double bass technique all day
This is nothing short of spectacular.... wow!
Dude George is easily the greatest metal or all around drummer of all time. An absolute music god.
Pls don't insult so many by saying he's the greatest of all time
+Adam Troutman don't care. my opinion.
objectively he is the best metal drummer
I used to think the same until Ken Bedene appeared. This new generation of metal drummers is full of guys who go beyond Kollias.
Márcio Chiabotto Aaron Kitcher.
Making it look easy and sound perpetually perfect!
Honestly I like when you put this tracks with click, things come more clear also the divisions and sub divisions. Awesome job
One of my favourite Nile tracks. Truly awesome, George! \m/
same here
2:00 when your metronome starts jamming with you lol
Bahahaha why does this comment have no likes i laughed so hard
One of my favorites on this album. Great work!
It takes a lot of confidence to put the click there for the world to see with the click I can't fake it.... Great work
3:36 that little cymbal choke makes me laugh at his ridiculous speed and control.
You are awesome Kollias!!!
Best Drummer in the world today, no doubt.
Been following this guy since I was 16 (27 this year) and he never fails to impress.
Enjoyed every second of this video. Thank you so much George, hopefully more will come in the future. Always big hype when you upload a new video!
Wooow.... You are the god of the speed George \m/
Legendary performance.
This is just insanely awesome!
It seems so easy as the moves are that smooth !
Still impressive.
This is awesome! 🎶🥁😎🦇🎶
What a beast !!!
I love the sound of your kit, its sounds like the ones from Slayer's South Of Heaven Album!!
Great Work!!
freaking ridiculously awesome pure skill
thank you for sharing this with us. sounds great. looking forward to more in the future.
George, you NaILEd it!
really great drumming!! like always!!
Great homage to Tony.
George is off the scales! Working out the click for this must have been a headache!
BEEP BEEP BEEP BOOP
BEEPBEEPBEEPBOOP
BEEP BEEP BEEP BOOP
That beep boop is driving me fucking crazy ~~
What the hell is that beep beep? Annoying as fuck. I stopped watching the video after 30 seconds.
Everything you play looks effortless
Awesome performance George! Cool to see a studio video of a song before you were with Nile, just something you brought back for fun. Thanks for the upload, and thanks for being an inspiring drummer in the extreme metal genre! Cheers.
Awesome. Doing Tony's intensity on ITDS full justice!
sooooooo good
Best in the business
Metal= Best Musicians....Thanks!

THE BLESSED DEAD
I'm a bigest fan of you and I hope you come to Salvador Bahia in Brazil, want to see you live and if possible make one pic of you, thank you Kollias, you are my inspiration to I keep practicing drums, hope be like you. Thanks.

Bars of 7/8 i am hearing? 👌🏻
Realmente increíble, una de mis pistas favoritas
Oh yeah this rules
Wish i could purchase that isolated track without voice or drums to practice to. Amazing drumming as always, true artist.
Joining Nile following this record must have been intimidating haha. Tony's drum parts are crazy. But, you fucking kill it, like always!
Just off the dam chart with his foot work!!! Fucking beast
Definitely my favorite drumming song.
Definitely STILL my favorite drumming song.
can watch him swivel all day long ..so fluid
could you please do a rendition of Unas Slayer of the Gods?
how can you remember all of these patterns? all this accents?
marco Frassini George doesn't have to remember the patterns, the patterns remember him! 🤔
It's a drummers intuitions and forethought, muscle memory matched with years and years of dedicated practice.
marco Frassini well... he did write this...
no, it was tony laureano.
Earphones with metronome
Everybody is talking about George’s foot technique, which is nothing short of wizardry, but his single strokes are stupid impressive too. Some of the rolls he does are fucking insane
the whole song is a roll haha
the beast from greece!
Finally, the perfect accompaniment to my Blessed Dead toast.
Amazing!!
My favourite non-Kollias Nile song
Yes!!
There are a few drummers hat are arguably more “extreme” but nobody can touch the smoothness and fluidity of his playing at the level of extremity that he does.
Best Drummer !!!!
Brutal!
Speeding ticket for Kollias please
Finally got to see him at the chance in Poughkeepsie. He only opened his eyes between songs.
Them fills!!
how do u play so good
fucking awesome George!
This might be the fastest drumming I have ever seen.
Origin, Cytotoxin, Henker, Archspire, Cryptopsy, Infant Annihilator (beware all the hate mentioning them somewhere hahaha), maybe Cattle Decapitation, Kataklysm and Braindrill come this fast too \,,\
ofc there's more
3:29 How to jump in the train at 6 in the morning and go work with a huge smile on your face ! Thank u master
Beep-boop-boop-boop, beep-boop-boop-boop, beep-boop-boop-boop, .... Awesome drumming.
Thank u for the fucking amazing vids man. I have learned so much from watching you drumming sessions.
*your
I like the speed you have in your hands and feet.
Nice, old school.
Nile is tech, not old school. Most old school stuff isn't technical at all
I saw you in Colombia in 2014, you're an amazing drummer an awesome person, don't pay attention to thoes foolish who pretends to criticize your style.
Faster than machine gun!!! Θαυμάζω Γιώργο Κόλλια!!!!
Everything was almost perfect just needed that gravity blast @3:36 still a killer performance as usual and it's my fav song 🤘
One of the best drummers out there! Anyone who talks shit is just jealous.
Best Nile track !
The master :D\m/
Τέρας φίλε μου,περίμενα καιρό να ανεβάσεις βίντεο!
The feet! Oh my god! Maybe I’ll figure It out after another 33 years of drumming. I was stoked when I could do triplets with each foot and I have to buckle down hard to pull it off especially when playing fast
George, but can you play "Nothing Else Matters"?
I find this hypnotizing..
Kollias' click is a better drummer than many out there
Does he ever do regular drum parts
anybody remember which song it was where he (or other drummer, i don't remember) hits and mutes the left china (crash?) repeatedly in some passage? I could've sworn it was nile, but now i am not even sure. My memory is a frickin' sieve :|
Were you thinking of Execration Text?
We work the fields of the masters!
best drummer of Technical Death Metal
OMG that beeping!!! :D
The Adidas add a +10 to dexterity
when people say Travis Barker is their favorite drummer...and then you show them this video.
Or Lars Ulrich 😂🤣😂🤣
Lars is Great on Arrangement but yes 😆
the best

+gkdrummer You say this is a fairly easy song, what would a more difficult song be for you to play?
+gkdrummer the click track was annoying as fuck but on the other hand i did peep the numerous time sig changes so it fulfilled its purpose!
Hey George ! Such type of drum covers are awesome ! Even I'm sticking to metal drumming . Do you think Sabian's perfect choice for drum cymbals ?
GREAT JOB!!!!!! Tony didn’t one foot blast--THE BLESSED DEAD!!!! But he did a great job!!!! 😉
