It's been a while... Man, sometimes I scratch my head when I see the filter housing locations Porsche uses. I always get messy under my Boxster when yanking out the housing. Stay well. D
It has been while. Cayenne oil changes are always so messy and honestly, not my preferred at all. Carrera, Boxster, Caymans are so easy. How’s the Macan?
Great video! Used this vid to assist me in changing my sisters oil on her 2009 Cayenne with the VR6 engine. I just I did some digging and found that the oil filter drain plug torque is 10nm or about 7.5 ft lbs.
I got a 2009 V6 with about 85,000 miles. It's cold here in the Midwest, I'm about to change my oil, but this time, I want to do it my self. So definitely, thanks for your very informative video, it's great help. My only concern is, I've never seen, or used that type of oil your using. I'm I missing something or using the wrong type of motor oil?
Hey Barberman! Technically, the V6 variant uses 5W30 C3 approved oil, not the A3/B3 most people use. You can get it from Amazon or online. It has lower SAPS ratings for your catalytic converters.
@@512TXSDIY havent purchased anything yet. Im about 3k miles from doing it. I want to get the crush washer. I need to buy the 38mm socket. Filter wise, I've found several cheap premium options eg mobil 1, k&n, purolator, wix(currently running) +more etc. All under $20(several under $15) as for oil im debating between castrol edge European car a3/b4, mobil 1 European formula (currently running) , mobil 1 esp, castrol edge high mileage & mobil 1 high mileage . Lol
@@512TXSDIY im debating between several brands/varieties eg: mobil 1 European car formula (what im currently running) or Castrol Edge European car a3/b4, Mobil 1 ESP, Castrol Edge High mileage or Mobil 1 High mileage. Technically for the VR6 variant, the correct is C3 approved oil. I honestly use Mobil 1 0w40 European in all my German cars. WIX filters are awesome and Mann, Mahle. I believe Mann makes WIX but if you get the WIX brand it’s cheaper too. Don’t overthink it.

@@512TXSDIY Craigslist is pretty awesome. My dad found his maserati there. low mileage and cheap around 60k. your cars may seem 'older' but even though theyre not toyota or honda, im certain that itll last for a long time with good maintenance.
@@512TXSDIY Got my 2009 VR6 Cayenne from Copart salvage auctions for a really great price in Oct '22 ($4.5k with ALL the auction house fees etc). I love this thing! Also your video was really helpful so I can do my own oil change now too. Wish Porsche had put the filter in a better spot like Golf R! (my Golf's oil filter housing is in the top of the engine and SUPER easy to access).
Thank you, man. It helped me a lot. It’s my first time changing Porsche Cayenne oil and your video helped me a lot with the tools. I appreciate that.
Glad it helped and thank you for watching!
Best v6 oil change video. Thanks.
Wow. Thank you so much! I appreciate that. Don’t forget to like the video and consider subscribing to the channel if you haven’t already.

@@512TXSDIY Easy. Access is towards the front and, once 20 belly fasteners removed, it's a piece of cake.

Thank you and great feedback. Thx for the torque value. Please like and subscribe. Costs you nothing and helps me a ton.

Nice video do you know number part for the bolt for the cap filter I need to replace mine but I can’t find
Thank you. Are you talking about the little allen bolt, not the actual housing correct?
Yeah you show at the beginning at the video
I don’t have the part number on hand :-/
Question, is there a copper crush washer on the drain plug? Or an o-ring?
Crush washer for sure. Did you get yours in a kit?
