Ok, so I've been a Four Tops fan since I can remember and Levi Stubbs, by far, is my favorite vocalist of all time. Over the years it has saddened me deeply to hear what I often referred to as a cover group of the Four Tops. However, I must admit, I enjoyed this concert. So much love and life has been added to the show. It was great to hear Are You Man Enough, Still Waters and a few other Tops Classics added to the show. I cringed when I saw the post, but found myself smiling and moving to every song. Although no one and I mean NO ONE will ever hold a candle to the original line up and the song slaying God given talents of Levi Stubbs, this performance deserves a thumbs up!
I'm so happy they started by honoring Lawrence, Obie, and Levi. Last but not lastly, we must add Duke. Im not sad. I'm happy that God gifted us with those 4 original guys. They were pure perfection. Let's respect this lineup too. They are the four tops now. I thank them for carrying on the legacy. ❤❤❤❤

Just heard that Duke passed away yesterday at 88 years old 😢. Was blessed to see the original Tops back in 1985 with the Temptations. By far the best concert I have ever been to. Both groups performed in Pittsburgh again this past May. I was shocked to see they were charging $265 a ticket for basically cover bands, and I refused to pay that. Although this group was good to listen to in the video, not quite the same. Rest in peace to all of the “Tops” and thank you for all the wonderful memories. I am sure the fellas are giving an incredible reunion show in heaven tonight! ❤️🙏
These aren't the Four Tops. Duke is the last original member, all the others have died. Duke tours with 3 others but sits for most of the show, which leads me to believe he may have a medical issue. If he isn't there, then this is nothing but a tribute act. Get well soon Duke.
These are the Four Tops, original members or not. Lawrence Payton Jr replaced his father, Lawrence Payton Sr. Renaldo "Obie" Benson was replaced by his little brother Ronnie. Alex Morris, lead vocals, is a cousin of the late great Levi Stubbs. And Duke is in his mid 80's so clearly he can't stand for the entire show. Just appreciate the fact that Duke is still alive and we're able to see him perform
@michaelszymanski6366 Yes, I know this group tours as the four tops. when acts tour with no original members or a member that played on hit records, then it's not the real deal. Im ok with Duke leading the act or Otis leading the Temptations, but once they retire, the name of the band should be retired. Just because an act can legally tour with the name of a hit making group doesn't make it legit. It really doesn't matter if there is a family connection. I hope Duke gets well soon so the Tops can continue. Ask yourself, can the Beatles tour with 4 replacement musicians?
Detroit show on 10/4 it was announced Duke was having a medical procedure. “Tune up” as he said it, implied he would be back soon but I’m starting to think that’s not the case.
They made the same announcement in April 2024 at Foxwoods, so I guess they are a just a tribute band at this point… they should probably tell you before you spend your money.
