I love you guys, clicking on this video only to be able to shit all over something you already hate. Travis Barker is probably one of the most criticized drummer since he got famous, and people would certainly not be that aggressive towards him if he wasn't glorified in the medias. The thing is he plays drums for a living and has a sweet life, while you guys sit behind your computer writing these pathetic comments. Get a life, please.
Well guys you see Daniel knows a lot about the kit because he built it :P From what I heared, Daniel is the owner and like one of the builders of OCDP.
noskilz04 I don't think he's the owner (Guitar Center is the owner) but he might be a builder. I think Travis just tells Daniel what he wants the finish to be, and then Daniel just designs it, chooses the specs and voila... a Travis Barker drum kit is born.
I think he means the locks on the stands. The ones you use to ensure the height of the stands and the position stays the same during break down and set up
I liked the Cadillac Hood ornament. Travis Sure likes to keep his drums flat. Kinda surprised he doesn't just use another floor tom in front instead of a mounted tom. No worries that guy breaking or going anywhere when playing. It would be unique too.
There are a few things weird about his setup... 1. 22x22 kick drum... That's HUGE 2. 5x12 rack Tom... That's tiny 3. Who puts Coated heads on the bottom of their drums? 4. Who changes their heads after every show?? That's a HUGE waste of money. Edit: alright, 2 years have passed and I have learned long ago why Travis does these. Learnt so much that I do it myself because it's actually good 😂
CR7: Go to a 182 show and you’ll see why his tech has to change out so many items. Saw them on the Warped Tour and he took a chunk of his crash out on the 3rd song. He’s not nice to his gear. Then again...if I were sponsored by my gear, I’d beat them like they owe me money too. His kick is actually a 22 (diameter) x20 (deep). The extra 2” is from the double wide hoop out front.
To point 2. The racktom is so Shallow because the bottom head response better on this way so you have a louder and more even tone. And he has coated heads as reso-heads because it makes the tomsound a little bit warmer than the reso head have more Mass because the coating so the drum resonate better
OCDP was good back in the day. Then they sold out to Guitar Center and all their stuff sold through Guitar center is made in China. OCDP still makes "some" american custom stuff but mainly for their owners.....Adrian Young/Travis Barker...definitely not like it was before
I just play a Ludwig kit and get the sound these drummers have been trying to find without pretending I need some one off custom this or that made drum shells. But that's simply my opinion. Your millage probably varies what kind of drum kit suits your needs. I just find most companies make a kit that's gonna sound like you want drums to and have the options you need.
Why do drummers on tour change their heads so damn much? Every day? Why? That seems like a huge waste. Maybe it's just because I can afford to change heads like once a year. I hit really hard too, and mine still sound fine months in.
+TwhDrummer13 When you're playing the venues that TB plays and beat the shit out of your drums the way he does, you would too. Not to mention he's a flagship artist for Remo, so they pretty much insist he do so, so that they sound the best every gig.
Yeah fuck that, I'm not happy with my drums untill the heads are a few weeks or more old. I beat the fuck out of the drums without a doubt, just as much as Travis Barker... He's not the only aggressive player around. I don't change my head's untill the first signs they need it. Destroying heads is shitty technique. I'm not saying Barker has shit tech, but my roommates son barely plays drums and he wore through a set of coated emperor's in about 3 months just banging. I can keep heads for about 6 to 8 months. No need to change heads every day unless you're just plain being an idiot.
different styles take different hits. jazz is a lot more vocal with sounds and much lighter hitting. being a rock drummer and knowing what it actually takes with being a rock drummer is quite a different area. when in the studio drums sound best being hit as hard as possible. you'll get everything that the drum has to offer in tone but you'll also get the most consistent hits. which is what travis does. I've bled many times drumming. travis is a rock drummer. so he hits like a rock drummer.
Bloody because the set it position very.... Well... Too neat i could say. Everything about travis barkers set is leveld flat and straight. I hate it. Looks uptight.
Or he is a masochist. Just look at his tattoos covering his whole body, that guy gets a boner from pain. I've seen pictures of his thumbs missing chunks of flesh, that is just borderline crazy.
That comes from his drum corps days. Those guys push themselves to insane limits inorder to be perfect. I competed in high school. It wasnt easy. Bloody, callused fingers. Back pain from lugging a marching drum for hours and hours, trying to nail every move on the field, at the exact time.constantly sore legs and knees. Travis i's an athlete. Things get banged up bleed. It's not jazz night drumming.
Dude has millions can't invest in some gloves? I'd rather wear gloves than get all that fuck chalk all over my shit. Hitting hard doesn't mean you have technique .
Travis has been rocking his kit like that for ages. doesnt mean that it looks uncomfortable to you means that it's uncomfortable to him too. Fun Fact: his rocking that setup since 2001 and the the dude is playing for about 40 years now.
I've known Daniel Jensen since 2001....haven't seen him in awhile. Miss this dude.
Jesus.. mark hoppus really lost his way.
Mr. Beard Lmao!

This guy had same haircut since 2001
He also hasn't had a haircut since 2001...
5x12 tom. damn.
his rack tom's only 5" deep? god damn.
It kinda adds more slap and to it.
That is most definitely a Sweet Ride Brilliant
It is from their European summer tour 2012.
What is going on with his hair

Great setup
"a woodblock built into the bass drum... a percussive type instrument"
hmm strange, first time I've heard of a drummer using percussive instruments
Dreamometry Ikr, our strings usually prevent use from using any percussive instruments
Love the kit!
I think he means the locks on the stands. The ones you use to ensure the height of the stands and the position stays the same during break down and set up
Loved the video and Daniel is awesome but I'd love it even more if u played each part of it! hahahah one by one!
Fuck. I'm reading comments like this video was recent. Just realized it's 8 years old.
I liked the Cadillac Hood ornament. Travis Sure likes to keep his drums flat. Kinda surprised he doesn't just use another floor tom in front instead of a mounted tom. No worries that guy breaking or going anywhere when playing. It would be unique too.
it is indeed a 21" A Sweet Ride in brilliant finish
He is so nice.... and clean hearted guy
i hate in these videos when they talk all about the kit and then they never play the damn thing!
+James Hardman basic arent you?
+John Bourgeois ah ask any other drummer watching these videos I guarantee they want the kit played in these videos
James Hardman I'm a drummer and I don't care
Thomas the Meme lol that's what I was about to say
It’s a kit tour. Where in the title makes you think it would be more
Someone can tell me why the a custom are like that? I find the finition pretty :D
What brand is the stick holder on the floor Tom?
question the audix mics choice instead of re20 and shure but i've preferred the i5 at least for snare
He doesn't do his own equipment video? Every video I've seen of an equipment tour video, the player does it themselves.
There are a few things weird about his setup...
1. 22x22 kick drum... That's HUGE
2. 5x12 rack Tom... That's tiny

Benny Greb uses coated heads on the bottom. He doesn't like overtones.
To point 2. The racktom is so Shallow because the bottom head response better on this way so you have a louder and more even tone.
And he has coated heads as reso-heads because it makes the tomsound a little bit warmer than the reso head have more Mass because the coating so the drum resonate better
A 22x22 bass drum is sick as fuck that thing is a cannon 😍👌🏽
how does bottom coated heads sound?
i love this vlog and videos new subs here
How do you mount that Cadillac hood ornament?
A simple drum setup, capable of sounding like a frickin' 12 piece (in my opinion).
OCDP was good back in the day. Then they sold out to Guitar Center and all their stuff sold through Guitar center is made in China. OCDP still makes "some" american custom stuff but mainly for their owners.....Adrian Young/Travis Barker...definitely not like it was before
Word is, you can shell out a couple grand for a custom kit and they will definitely give exactly what you want and more.
Stormborn Björnsson how do you get a hold of ocdp i been wanting a custom kit myself
SJC is better than them now
GoldStar5 that's interesting cuz I noticed the lack of great sound on them.. It sounds more plastic now
I just play a Ludwig kit and get the sound these drummers have been trying to find without pretending I need some one off custom this or that made drum shells. But that's simply my opinion. LOVE IT
where the microphone
Why do the customs look so different?
The Zildjian A Customs look shiny or brilliant because they are lathed differently in the factory
+lewis harwood They buff them in the factory
OCDRUMDEVIL
yeah man . now they are in australia . but travis is in vegas he cant go thru plane

J.R. Morrison That is a good point though, Remo probably makes him change them every day. I wonder what happens to the old ones.
If I was a touring drummer, I'd change my heads out every week or 2 weeks
TwhDrummer13 He is sponsored by Remo so he can afford to beat the crap out of his drum heads.
The lats two cymbals name please
Dave and Willie
he uses double pedal?
Single pedal 😊
It means he has little plastic things on the lugs of the drums to stop them de-tuning, a problem when you hit as hard as him.
He forgot to explain the cowbell
best fella, aquarius heads always
he looks a bit like Rubens Barrichello to me :D you know, except for the hair, the beard and he's a bit "thicker" than Rubens :D

perfect)
Blink is on tour? WTF?! o.O or this is from 2012 or something?
Damn this dudes hair needs to stop doing so much speed
Is no one gonna mention the fact that the title is *Magazazine*
Rubinho Barichello
This dude has spikes surrounding a full on bald spot
Doesn't sound like Travis has much control. I
5x12" lol wtf.
Bloody because the set it position very.... Well... Too neat i could say. Everything about travis barkers set is leveld flat and straight. I hate it. Looks uptight.
I love it. Do you prefer everything a bit tilted? I think everything tilted is perfect for jazz.
If Travis is tearing his hands up then his technique is terrible....
Or he is a masochist. Just look at his tattoos covering his whole body, that guy gets a boner from pain. I've seen pictures of his thumbs missing chunks of flesh, that is just borderline crazy.

New heads everyday?!? Dumb.
That is the ugliest drumset I've ever seen.
Zachary hajahaha
I bet you can't even afford them
Hater thats like a 8k kit right there 👌
Never heard a drum tech talking so bored about a drum set...
Look at how he holds his stick. He grips the fuck out of it. Doesn't surprise me that he hurts his hands
Ive never heard of beating trough a snare head in one show !! Your foing it wrong !! Also i like his druming but hate that set up
I get he's famous and all...but If he's destroying things that often, than i think somethings wrong with the way he's playing....
Dude has millions can't invest in some gloves? I'd rather wear gloves than get all that fuck chalk all over my shit. Hitting hard doesn't mean you have technique .
Gloves looks gay
3rd comment
Yeah when you have to stop the show to get bloody chunks of meat cut from your hands it's probably time to invest in a pair of gloves!
First comment
Just shave dude...
4th comment
So Much talk, do less
He probably smacks his hands on the rims xD, painful as fuck!
And who are you again?
His kit is fucked up there is like no comfort in that kit at all
Travis has been rocking his kit
like that for ages. doesnt mean that it looks uncomfortable to you means that it's uncomfortable to him too.
Fun Fact:
his rocking that setup since 2001 and the the dude is playing for about 40 years now.
So much pot smoke flowing. T barks my mizan
Travis Barker is a pounder and nothing more.
Not everybody taps like a pussy
And all the little posers wana be like barker
