I have a 2018 Nissan kicks and it’s the same but mine doesn’t have that filter on the side only a oil strainer so I guess I have to change the transmission oil more often since it uses no filter
Question. I've let mine go WAY OVER 60k because I was convinced that the dealership had to do it because of all the bullshit I saw in a service manual. It's at 95k now. Should I still do a fluid change now or am I basically f'd? The service advisor said that once they get past 100k they won't change them because they've seen them back in for replacement several weeks post fluid change at that mileage.
Much simpler to do it on the 5 speed manual on my 2024 Versa. No filters, no dropping the pan no cleaning the pan and potentially replacing the pan gasket and it uses less fluid. The Versa has the same engine as this Kicks (HR16DE)
Also make sure that you get the correct O-ring. The one for my Nissan is a metal one that has the real ring as a permanent part of it. Some of them are normal o-rings but still you really should look to make sure you are getting the right one. If there are a few different ones you are better off to order them all than to need it and not have it because then you can choose the one you did need and make a note of its part number for the next time. If you don't make a note of it at least keep the box, bag or label that the part came with.
Hi Alimech! How do you level check/drain if the vehicle is not on jack stands? You mentioned vehicle needs to be leveled flat, however we need it on jack stand so we can reach it. Thank you.
Alimesh, good video , but I am waiting for an instruction video on my 2017 toyota camry le transmission oil pan and filter change. My sub frame of the transmission pan is in the way of my socket wrench. Help please!!! Thank you for your knowledge. Larry Usa.
@@AliMECH I didnt see anything mentioned about the engine being on during draining. at what point do you turn it on and at what point do you turn it off?
Hey Bro, When i click the transmission filter it says it does not fit my car. Mine is 2019 Nissan kicks. Im talking about the filter behind the driver side wheel.
Thank you so much for the video!🙏🏽 If you don’t mind me asking, where did you buy the Nissan CVT NS-3 oil? And how much did they charge you? I’m assuming a local Nissan dealership? 6:50
@@rclifegu3574 The dealer service said they would not change my filter because it was too hard to get to. First, he told me the filter doesn't exist. Then he said it was too hard to get to. I know others have been given that lie. I don't need the fluid changed yet, but I don't know what to do when I do need it changed. If I go to the dealer, they will leave the same dirty filter in.
This is easily the best video for changing your cvt fluid.
Thanks

Did you take off the cover like he did and look?
Dude, such a thorough and useful video. Thank you!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Every 30k… seems like a pain. But a damn good video. Thank you.
Yea I know, that's what it recommend, thanks
It is a pain to pay $8000 or more for a new transmission. These are expensive as heck!

Great Video...thanks
Thanks for watching!

Do you need programming after changing the fluid?
How many liters of liquid did you put?
Is the fluid calibrated in the operating position?
No program needed, 4 litters , yes engine has to be on when draining, I showed all in the video
@@AliMECH I didnt see anything mentioned about the engine being on during draining. at what point do you turn it on and at what point do you turn it off?
Great video.. what the torque for those bolts or nuts?
Bro , kicks needs 8 litre of fluid not 4 litre.. as it’s written in the manual guide service and recommendations..!!
It's the transmission capacity how much it holds not how much drains from transmission pan

IF this is a Kicks - WHY do you have a filter. My 2020 does not have one!!!!!
Yes it does have two filters on the Nissan cvt transmission and is recommended to be service every 30,000miles
Just took a look at my 2020 made for USA Kicks and no filter. Your video is great, but I dont have a paper filter on the side of tranny.
@@jeffdockter7326yes u do have a filter all Nissan models from 2010-2024
