Yes doing that will work for sure. I really want this product to work without punching holes but it didnt work for me. Appreciate your comment and I enjoy your channel man. Glad you stepped by to see this one 👍
Thanks for the info, I drill a couple of holes in the filter and use a piece of cardboard wrapped in aluminum foil, still messy. Keep brake cleaner and rags handy
I have the one for the HD “Big Twin” and it works fairly well on my 2016 Road King. The bike needs to be on the Jiffy Stand so it is leaning over to the left. The HD oil filter wrench/socket has to be put on first. I did see a video about making the tray out of a pop bottle and that may do the trick for the M8. Don’t forget to put some oil in the new filter and on the gasket before installing it. Ride Safe.
Yes yours is different design and some other folks mentioned it work but these one for m8 have really mixed reviews for some reasons. Didnt work for me for sure
If you would have just done it the way it's done at the shop you would have been finished already. Just put your drain pan under it on the floor unscrew your oil filter at the oil run out on the motor is going to anyway change your oil filter take some brake clean spray it off your motor. Good to go.

I poke a couple of holes in the filter BEFORE I remove it. The oil drains out of the filter into the funnel. Works like a charm for me

@@RidersUnited if you don't poke holes on the filter, you will spill oil. Poking a hole makes the funnel more effective
@@RidingandWrenchingmake perfect sense since most of the oil will drain so good tip
@@RidingandWrenching mine came with a nail to put the holes
Very good info.😊

Thanks
That's horrible 😅 What a joke. Thanks for the heads up 👍
Sure thing, some people reported same outcome while others mentioned it works but I couldn’t make it work. Seems like hit or miss experience

Normally I use cut out plastic bottle works like a dream I thought I will go “high tech” and it didn’t work for me at all.
@@RidersUnited That’s a better idea, I will try it
Well you gave it a good effort. Looks like a bad design. 👊✌️👍
Yes this product sucks man and I really tried. My oil change timurned into 3hrs job because of this junk 😂

Are you sure it's not a travel urinal?😂
At this point who knows what it is 🤣
If you use a 2 litre pop bottle and carve a chute it works perfect
Yes I did that before and will go back to this approach after this failure
I have one too, doesn’t work on my street glide. I use aluminum foil under the filter to retrieve most of the oil
I thought maybe something was wrong with me but seems like I am not alone here 😂

Yup for sure I wasted ton of time. Never again, pretty disappointing experience in my case.
your front motor mount isnt going to appreciate being coated in oil.
@@maddog7999 valid point for sure. Thanks for pointing this out
