I just made out like a bandit. I walked down to the corner royal farm to get my son a box of donuts. The delivery guy was inside and dumping 10 trays of donuts into a big bag and delivering new stock. I said "Can I take them out to the dumpster for you?" He tied the bag and said their all yours, so I came home with 5 dozen free donuts less than 24 hrs old. The manager behind the counter said he's here every night.
My local bakery puts the day old donuts in bags of 8-10 for 1.50. But the glaze gets liquified in the plastic bags. I’ll just pay 10.99 for a fresh dozen
You add a touch of down home country to your channel. I liken it to sitting on the front porch Sunday morning talking and relaxing watching Henry drive down the gravel road and wonder where he is going. I'm a life long city boy from the city (San Diego) but spend two wonderful years part time on a farm in Winchester VA when the Army would turn me loose. You and your crew are relaxing to see.
Brings back memories, I worked on a small sawmill (3 guys) back in 1980. It had a duel offset head rig. they tapped in the sawblade teeth, occasionally while sawing frozen logs you could hear the teeth coming out of the sawblade and whizzing by your head, since i worked the green chain. a lot of hard work ,learned a lot.
I’ve been talking in Eddies channel along with yours Mark it’s great seeing the whole process. It makes you appreciate how much is involved with cutting boards
You are sawing like our old Head Sawyer Rosie. This was early 80's. Pretty much the same set up. Rosie would be in the cab jabbering to himself all day long on a good day with pretty wood. Good times we worked hard but had a lot of fun.
i’m hypnotized by these freaking videos. My wife loves them to. We make comments about the wood and the sawing like we know what we’re talking about! ha! we don’t.
Definitely SAFETY FIRST. I had a Uncle that got impaled by a piece that came off the blade and went into his tight back in the 80's at a Saw Mill in Newton Falls,Ohio. Had the Head Sauer not thought quickly and fashioned a tourniquet out of a extensions cord and a broken off piece of 1x1 sticker. He would have bleed to death before the Squad got there and rushed him to the Hospital and emergency surgery. The piece was only about 4"x 1.5" that exploded off a pices of Hickory. It was the 2nd to last log of the day at 3:45pm on a Friday afternoon. Turns out the Head Sauer was a Navy Corp.men that fought in the Korean War. The man clearly saved his life with his quick thinking of cutting that extension cord and using the way he did. I recommend that EVERYONE today HAVE and KEEP at least one CAT style Tourniquet handy. Especially in this situation where you could keep them safe dry and secure in the cab of the mill. You PRAY to God you never need one. But you THANK GOD you have one when you need one.
Great looking boards coming out of these logs!I like how calm you and Eddie stay when you get something dangerous going on. That's the best way to handle it by far, freaking out doesn't do any good at all! Thanks for the entertainment 😊
Hi Mark I just wanna say that you have a good humor love Love your channel I was watching a long time and listening to you gave me a lot of knowledge about wood I watch Eddie I just wish you the best good luck with the new year and again thank you.
Loved the cherry logs. Reminded me of the cherry cabinets I had made for the 1913 farm house I gutted and refit. Yellow pine floors and interior trim, never painted. Stacked the flooring in the basement for 2 years whilst the refit was going on. OMG what a beauty she was when I finished her. From a zero bathroom, 6 bedroom to a 2.5 bath 3 bedroom with nanny quarters.
Hey.. being childish come on the crew is enjoying doing what they do sawing is a passion and those books keep them coming that first cherry log with the first 2 booms loved it loved it loved it
There is something so satisfying watching logs sawn. I have spent many an hour watching your videos and never get bored. You are a great group of men, and i envy you. There is little here in the U.K. that can compare. Keep up the good work.
After watching Eddie on the receiving end it adds to the overall “how it is done” As a special because of the added editing and time. Change from your view of the log going through the saw to eddies view receiving the same cut. As a once a month or Xmas special I think it would be great. Am following Eddie channel too and both compliment each other. Good work all round.
Excellent Videos Mark and Eddie and ZZ and guests, keep them comming, i learn something new everytime i watch them. I worked worked in a Frick mill when i was younger, i loved it. the smell of the wood, the sawdust flying, we had a PLAINER in the mill instead of a Edger, the plainer was huge.
Great videos as usual fellas, Please don't change a thing, don't let the gripes affect any of you period !! I've been checking out other sawing channels and always come back to this one, what you and Eddie have built along with the others who have contributed to getting to where you are now compared to 4 yrs ago is something to be very very proud of. Thank you for sharing your passion with the rest of us May you all be blessed and have a very Merry Christmas Sid
This video is a perfect example of how you have to think ahead when grade sawing. He has to be conscious of the bark inclusion at the butt and where it falls on each face. It's not as simple as just chunking the log on the Frick and go to cutting. Hès having to play log chess and basically cut the entire log in his head before he actually cuts it. Grade sawing with limbs is one thing but with that bark inclusion it changes how he processes the entire log. Great video Mr. Mark, you make it look so easy.
beautiful stock coming off that big cherry log. I wish I was closer to you guys as I do a lot of smaller woodturning projects and those pieces you chop up for firewood would great for somebody like me who can make use of shorts. I make good use of 2-3 foot lengths, that you guys would consider firewood. The closest sawmill to me is not far away but only does softwood, then you get into a bit of a drive up north into New Hampshire (I am just north of Boston)
The reason silly talk while working is done is because it’s makes a person smile and often it’s contagious to a fellow cheerful slave. It’s becomes silly at times. Makes the day go by.
Whatdoyouknow, you gotta a full crew! And the laser DOES show up on cloudy days! NICE lumber that'll make something REALLY nice. Wished I could still do that but I can watch. God Bless Yall, Markus!
Hey Mark I hope you don't think I'm crazy but what I do lately the past two nights is find all the videos one after the other and I let it play all night just hearing you talk and you guys just give me the best night's sleep I know it sounds strange and I hope you don't think it's weird but for some reason the bus motor helps me sleep I don't know why. But I sure hope it helps the channel😊the gott is Gottfried (Godfrey)😊
Russ, it was great for you to stop at the mill Saturday! Always enjoy putting faces with subscriber names, adds a nice touch to the whole experience! And a special thanks to your wife for hanging out while we were solving world lumber supply issues! Hope you had a safe return trip and enjoy using the pieces that you chose for your project. ZZ Mark
good video, great sawing, keep having fun, dont let negatives get to you. I agree with your philosaphy in life, enjoy it while you can. I thought i saw THE eddy wipe a little drool from his beard when grading that last log!
A vertical kicker on the carriage...could lay it onto the loader arms...love those arms...designing them from a brochure Bill Edmiston sent me back in...hang on... December 2,1992...with a signed letter from him...great design...love the vids...
I had a friend who, if someone she knew who had cancer suddenly took a turn for the better, it would ruin her day. I don't make time in my life for people like that. Life is meant to be LIVED and ENJOYED! BOOM ON!
Five o’clock in the morning them are some nice cherry boards again coming off the mill , im getting ready to dismantle a tree next to the road keeps dropping branches big old ash that’s come to the end of its life it’s hollow in the bottom keep me in fire wood for a year or more , anyway you guys have a nice day
One thing to remember, if you're not having fun, you're not having fun. If it doesn't say Sunkist on it you don't know what you're getting. If you put the boards with sap wood on them into the kiln the sap wood will crack according to Nathan.
Have you thought of adding a kick bump near the kick back blade to help the newly cut board to flip on its side so the conveyor belt can do its job and take the board to the crew? Thanks for the fun videos.
Why do you not turn the crack in the cherry vertical on your intial cut so only one to two boards have the damage? Cutting it the way you did made several boards have to be short to remove the crack.
Boom !!! You don’t quit having fun when you get old, you get old when you quit having fun …
very true Benny.
How dare you enjoy yourself! 😎😎🇬🇧🤣🤣
Keep the fun comments coming! We need more real men showing everyone that our American men can have fun while they work!
Boom! We love being childish with you! Be happy cuz it makes us smile! Thank you!
thank you.

Your not cutting slow...your cutting smart...no one gets hurt...👍

I wish the fellas who cut timber would top a couple feet further back sometimes
good video, great sawing, keep having fun, dont let negatives get to you. I agree with your philosaphy in life, enjoy it while you can. I thought i saw THE eddy wipe a little drool from his beard when grading that last log!

thank you , I do have a idea on how to make cant turn downs.
I wish I was close to you guys. I’d love some of those cherry cutoffs to use in my smoker. Cherry is perfect for pork.
yes it's a great smoke wood.
Some of those wide cherry boards would make a great book matched table.
sure would.
Another great video Mark!
thanks Dave , hope all is well!
merry Christmas to all!
Merry Christmas David.
Beautiful cherry love to have some scrapts for my small cnc
some nice pieces in the slab pile.
It's not childish it's child like and stay that way. Wouldn't it be nice if you could turn the logs both ways. Great video guys.👍
thanks Dennis.
To bad the kiln isn’t operational, you’d be making cabinets in February with that cherry 😉
yes for sure.
I had a friend who, if someone she knew who had cancer suddenly took a turn for the better, it would ruin her day. I don't make time in my life for people like that. Life is meant to be LIVED and ENJOYED! BOOM ON!
thank you , great comment.
T.H.E. Eddie going all Danny Boy on the first log, flippin those boards onto the rollers.
for sure , he would be great at that mill.
HELLO from BC Canada....British Columbia is a mountain province with mills thru-out the province./most trees are Douglas Fir and all types of Pine
you also burn softwood for firewood , I burn pine and spruce and people tell me you can't.
Some people say you can't burn green wood, but I have done that. Never say never. One has to be a little innovative 😊
That's interesting. I saw Eddie throttle down in his video, but i didn’t see the victim go to pieces. It's cool watching both sides.
I like to watch Eddies videos to see what what happened.
Another fine job boys!
thanks.
Happy log don't mind cutting remarks.
for sure lol.
That second log looked pretty good and I actually caught sight of the laser 😀
yes it did show up good today.
I sure do like the face on the end of the log.
the Grinch lol.
Greetings from your ancestral homeland.
Greetings!
Rookie view. Been around country saws.
Hi Joe , what is a rookie view? do you own a country saw is it a band mill or a circle mill?
Those are some great boards
yes for sure.
It’s your world 🌎 do what you want
We use a magnetic block heater on the hydraulic oil reservoirs. Plug them in a few hours before you’re ready to work. Presto , warm oil!
if we had power here that would be great.
❤you guys🖐
thanks Sharon.
Five o’clock in the morning them are some nice cherry boards again coming off the mill , im getting ready to dismantle a tree next to the road keeps dropping branches big old ash that’s come to the end of its life it’s hollow in the bottom keep me in fire wood for a year or more , anyway you guys have a nice day
thanks Alex , I like ash for firewood burns very hot.
Mark and Eddie, I was wondering where you can get a cut saw like the one you cut slabs with? Great videos
that's a old swing saw , not sure where you could find one.
One thing to remember, if you're not having fun, you're not having fun. If it doesn't say Sunkist on it you don't know what you're getting. If you put the boards with sap wood on them into the kiln the sap wood will crack according to Nathan.
yes true Mark , the sap wood on cherry will cup very easy but I never seen it crack.
Good video Bus Motor Productions.
thanks James.
Love to see a vid on carriage functions...we see you cutting...be nice to see the mechanics of it...
I have a few videos on how the sawmill works called sawmill tour check it out.
@@markgalicic7788 will do...thanks
hello mark & eddies & zz mark it's is randy and i like yours video is cool thanks friends randy
thanks Randy.
Personally I love figured boards with both heartwood and sapwood.
it does look nice.
I like this format
thank you Arthur.
The blade sounds sharp 🎉🎉
I just sharpened it , "good ears" lol.
My brother is a arborist in Delaware County and I mentioned to him about your Chanel
thank you , I hope he we will watch us.
Child-ish? Nothing about running a multi-ton explosion machine with spinning teeth is childish. Child-like? Bring it on. 😊
thanks David , great comment lol!
Hey...ZZ running the edger!
yes he is.
Does the mill ever require any maintenance or routine service? I never hear much mentioned about it. Just wondering.
yes it does Charles , I have many videos on that.
how long do you wait after gutting down a tree can you mill it lnto boards
the sooner the better.
Is quarter sawn cherry a thing? Thanks for the video. Some nice looking logs today.
thanks John , I don't want to quarter saw anything lol.
Cutting it the way you did made several boards have to be short to remove the crack.
that's fine if the saw would clear the cut , you have to look at the big picture .
I didn’t think of that. The log was more square, not round, at the biggest part.
Beautiful Lumber
thanks Mckinley.
I was thinking you were going kind of fast pushing the logs though the saw. It's all perspective. I like the pace.
it does eat cherry fast.
Just keep sawing at the speed thst makes good videos your doing fine where is the fire
I saw at a speed that's safe for my help.
Hey Mark, I'm childish too!
I like it lol!
