Since general rule is that above 10mhz the ham is done in usb and below 10mhz it is in lsb but In addition to the fact that the SSB takes time to switch , more often than not , it falls on USB by default and to put it in LSB I sometimes succeed but cannot figure out the sequence to get there, how do you do it ??? What I’m unclear about with the sw/ssb function is that you pickup a dialogue on usb or lsb but when you switch the ssb off you still have the same dialogue but in am. Unlike cb radio 27mhz any ssb reception is completely incoherent until you switch to usb/lsb and tune it.
@@OfficialSWLchannel What I mean is if I'm on SSB and I find a conversation, turning ssb to 'normal' reveals it's the same conversation but on am. I just don't get why it's not like cb radio where an SSB voice is very garbled until you tune switch to it, and not coherent at all on am. Kind of hard to explain without doing it visually.
@@OfficialSWLchannel thanks 👍. I had heard from one Turkish reviewer of 808 that his sihuadon 808 is less sensitive to SSB, perhaps it's a sample variation/QC issue. I've just got the xhdata 808 2023 model and am currently exploring SSB. Currently all stations it's catching are bit too noisy. Let's see.....
I think I'm getting the same station in SSB as I'm getting in Normal, except with reduced audio quality. Not sure if it's the expected behaviour of SSB 🧐🤔

SSB is the same everywhere... when you are listening to a SSB signal it is not possible to hear it when you switch off

@@oo0Spyder0ooin ssb you can actually listen to AM in both lsb and usb, you will find a carrier (long beeping noise) before the station
