I never thought I would comment on a water bottle review, but.. the contigo seem to have all the features I love from any current cheap NZ Kmart bottle (size, lock and carabiner much the same) but also a straw and fold-out mouth piece.
How convenient do you find cleaning the Contigo? I had the similar Camelbak Eddy for a few years, but found cleaning it (particularly inside the bite valve and straw) a real chore, and if you neglected it for a while you get all kinds of nasty stuff growing in there!
Yes it's really easy to clean! The straw unscrews from the lid on the inside so you can clean it separately. I just throw the three separate pieces (lid, straw and bottle) in the dishwasher every couple of weeks and it seems fine!
I agree! That design can be a breeding ground for all sorts of microbes. Nothing bests a Nalgene for the ability to sanitation and can be done with boiling water!
Camelback eddy straw bottle?? Better than contigo?

Will the Contiego fit in a standard car cup holder?
Yes it will! Only just though, it's fairly chunky.
