Yes. I travel with a couple of used plastic water bottles that I ditch once I'm at my destination. However, I have a Nalgene collapsible 96 oz canteen (similar to the vapur) I keep in my carry-on that once I'm at my destination, I keep full with water for emergency backup. And a Sawyer filter etc. I own two Vapur bottles (clear blue) that I purchased back around 2012. They are the best! I just don't travel with them because I also carry two empty 16oz hydra flask bottles. One dedicated for alcohol/tea/coffee etc and one for water. I take the one dedicated for water on all day trips. The only tip I can provide regarding the Vapur bottles is, when you need to dry out the inside to reduce any chance of mold or bacteria when not in use, just roll up a piece of standard paper length wise and stick it in the bottle and it should dry over night👍 5 stars for Vapur!
Great to hear your Vapurs are holding up well Global Adventurer! Also - that's a lot of experience with water bottles! The folks on our team that dig colder water will typically opt for a Hydroflask or some other similar insulated aluminum vessel. We'll take a look at the big Nalgene :) - Tom
Yes! I need this staying hydrated is definitely the key when traveling obviously you do a lot of walking and moving so hydration is the key keep you in the game longer
Thanks for this review. I was considering this bottle, but I was worried about a plastic smell or taste. I have used a similar bottle and that one was suffering from a plastic taste. Have you found a similar thing with the Vapur?
Hi Packhacker, thank you so much for reviewing this! I've been considering buying the Vapur for a while now. Great review! Just wondering would the opening be able to fit ice cubes?
Hey Derek! Glad the review was helpful. Longer, thinner ice cubes (from a refrigerator) will fit in no problem but you may have trouble with larger cubes. Keep in mind you can always "freeze" the bottle with some water already inside as well! - Tom
Used on of these for about 4 years. Loved it. Changed recently to a Hydrapak Stash, more stable and easier to clean/dry; although is just a bit bigger when compressed and no built in clip.
@@PackHacker Yes, same one. Still looks fines and works well. It's a translucent version so didn't have the coating peeling that your matte ones seem to have. One other minor issue, the vapur wasn't always easy to fill up in airports with the automatic water dispenser machines because of its shape. But generally worked well and great to have the option to fill up without carrying around a load of bulk. Nice review format in this channel by the way. Good to see more in depth reviews and test. Great work your you guys and much appreciated.
Can i use this with alcohol? Considering for camping trips. Or do you know of a different one in the same size category that would work better for that? thanks!
Have you guys seen the latest reviews on this bottle in Amazon? They are mostly negative - I'm curious what your thoughts are since I found the bottle on this channel
If you want your water to stay cold, you can pull a wet sock over the bottle. When the water of the sock evaporates in the sun, the water inside the bottle cools down
Yup. We got 2 of these prior to our 2-week trip to Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. Each day, we would fill up in the hotel, placed the bottle in the side pockets of the LLBean Stowaway Daypack and then went out to enjoy the city. This is a perfect travel bottle when you're packing lite. My wife was filling up in Heathrow and got asked by a surprised traveler what type of bottle that was. The only thing I am not sure about is if there would be any issues with the plastic if this goes un-used for a few months.
I am not sure if I would end up using it. I normally drink alcohol on the flight and we end up buying water at the store when traveling to other countries. However, I do like compact things! You have a new/different shirt, hopefully you went somewhere tropical!
Got it! The bottle is certainly compact - one of the biggest benefits of it! As far as the new shirt goes - thanks! Mixing it up a little bit from the traditional black / blue tees :) - Tom
Do you travel with a water bottle?
@ Pack Hacker I don't!

hydro flask 24oz
I’ve had this water bottle for 3 years and it’s still going strong, admittedly I didn’t really use it the first year. But I love it
Great to hear, Naturally Nerdy!

I've been using the one liter version for more than two years now without any problem :-)
Awesome, Patrick! Great to hear.

Hey Michael - yes, staying hydrated is super important, especially when you're on the go. Thanks for watching! 👍

It takes serious dedication to test the endurance of a water bottle for more than a year. Or at all, for that matter.

Did the same one last you 4 years? That's awesome. The Hydrapak Stash looks interesting, thanks

This bottle is excellent. I've had mine for almost 2 years.
Awesome! We're big fans of Vapur! 👌

Is the lack of insulation much of an issue? Are you in a hot climate?
Can i use this with alcohol? Considering for camping trips. Or do you know of a different one in the same size category that would work better for that? thanks!
Thanks for the review, very helpful
You got it!

And dangerous! You can go in a trail without any water if the bottle moves upside sown. They are all leaky.
Came here to find out how reliable the cap is against accidental opening. No mention made about the cap or leak-proofness.
Loving the shirt actually lol
Nice video.. Bought the older version.. Wonder how long it will last.
Useless trivia: Vapur means "boat" in Turkish.
Good to know!

How do you completely dry this bottle?

Hey Eric - great travel hack here, thanks for sharing! 😊👍

Bottle.... metallic or plastic?
@@batdude811he said what the bottle is made out of in the video stupid

Will a standard LifeStraw fit inside of the opening?
Can alcohol be stored?
Can this bottle stand up when put on a table or does it have to lie flat?
It can stand up at a table. However, the 1L version can "fold over" when half full while standing up. Hope this helps!
- Tom
Excellent
“The size that it is when compressed is a huge thing.” Looks pretty small to me. :).
You hydrate better with room temperature water but it’s not as refreshing obviously

I hate iced water.
Hey Paul, no worries-no need to add ice cubes if you don't want them!
