- Hey Retromaniacs! So pretty much what the title says, I ordered a 1:18 Hotwheels Elite Delorean for around 1/3 of what it would cost on marketplace etc. Now, naturally, coming from China and for that much cheaper I had concerns (obviously). Luckily, I know how to spot the clones of these, the ones that aren’t official Hotwheels. Let’s see if this one is, and I’ll show you one easy thing to look for.
** One important thing to note guys. Ali Express is similar to EBay in the way that it’s not one seller, but a lot of different ones. Make sure the seller you buy from has good feedback, and always look at the pics in the reviews. No feedback= steer clear. I go for 93% or higher positive feedback (Thanks Yasser for the tips navigating this site that’s new to me)

I have the super elite, and my goodness is it amazing. Sad it never made it to the states, and in lucky to own a properly working one. Also got it signed by biff and doc 🙂

My darn time switch activation button wore out! It worked fine for like 6 months, then I tried to activate it... And nothing. All the lights, and other sounds work on my Elite, and I got mine for around $140US.
I have ordered mine and watching your video was assuring of the quality they had put in the store pictures. By the way you got nice models from other movies too.

I've just discovered your retro channel on my news feed and the Delorean video really struck out. Can you answer why this model in the Hotwheels Elite format is so affordable right throughout different online shopping platforms??? Have they mass-copied these in China and have recently flooded auction sites like eBay and others?

That is exactly what I believe happened my friend. From what I’ve heard, hotwheels was contracting a factory in China to make the Deloreans. I heard that after the contract ended they just kept going lol.. I will say that if you order one, at least if it’s one like mine, they are identical most of them!!! so you’re not getting like a cheap knock off. And hey, since you like this stuff, you’ll be happy to know that on Friday I sold this car here in the video, and ordered this! Same awesome detail, but you should see what this thing can so! Called the super elite! Even though it’s not an official release it’s still amazing and I cannot wait till it arrives

The tires can't fold into hover mode?
Sadly not this version. Now, the super elite 1:18 by hotwheels, now that not only makes all the sounds and lights up, but you can change it into hover and has all the different wheels from the movies lol. This one I have is awesome for details but I wish it could hover.

@@zahar_afiq4309 the blue part I believe they tried to make the car look like it had hit 88 MPH if you watch the movie the little junction boxes on the car lit up a blue colour and I think that’s what they tried to replicate.
