Imagine making a series on science shown in Sci-Fi movies...explaining what part is possible and what part isn't and what could be done to make it possible and stuff... would be sick 🔥
Great Scott this was heavy! Seriously though, this was a fantastic video. I loved everything about it. The music, the animation, the way you broke everything down into real science. 10 out of 10! Quality stuff.
Awesome! I remember seeing one of the original movie cars on a back road at universal in the 90's. As i understand it, it's been restored for display now. Probably only driven from... time to time...
I had a nerdgasm... that's it, that's the comment. My F***ing god. SZ's blender skills are becoming magical. That fully detailed DeLorean model *chef's kiss* The breakdown, the physics. Dude I already loved your channel, this was just showing off.
Absolutely amazing. LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS. I remember your meteoric rise and the sudden stop of it. You really deserve much more subscribers and views. Please continue doing what you do! I'm really engaged in it and consider it high quality!
Cool vid. Best explanation I've found so far. The projector-looking thing on the roof of the DeLorean was unofficially called "wormhole emitter" by fans till Bob Gale gave a list of the parts, which names it "tachyon field generator". That was when I realized the DeLorean generates tachyons to create its wormholes, which's pretty cool. And about the flames from the tires: If you look closer, the flames aren't actually coming from the tires themselves but parts on the car's underside that are behind the tires, which shoot the flames downwards. In BTTF 3, when Marty goes to 1885, the flames behind the rear wheels don't touch the ground but shoot backwards instead, and sparks from the flame sources shoot upward and around the wheels, prolly damage caused by the lightning strike or the DeLorean crash landing in 1885.
Duuude, that's awesome! I love how you translated all the fantastical fiction into believable science. It would be great if you could do something on the Starburst of a Leviathan ship or the Displacement Engine that threw part of a star into a Dreadnought from Sifi's *Farscape* (1999).
Actually, just the Wormhole Weapon itself from *Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars* would be plenty interesting. You could even incorporate going over the Starburst into that video since it utilizes that energy to fire.
This was incredible! Awesome video! Now, we would love it if you can explain "how" the time circuits can manipulate the tachyons a certain way to open the wormhole to a specific time, down to the minute/hour/day/year. Of course, the DeLorean's three-dimensional location will always remain the same wherever the temporal displacement occurs.
As you know, That's some serious on the fly calculations but not out of the realm of achievable. We do it with rockets all the time. The rest however is up for debate🤣@@finkployd6110
I would think that frequency operated from the time circuits manipulates the field to pinpoint when in time to go. Think of it like changing a radio station.
You sir, have made me so happy with this RUclips short. It brought me back to when I was a kid and always wanted to dive into the in’s and outs of the Delorean. TY!
You should do a video explaining how the Back to the Future Part 2 flying cars work and fly through the air increasing the types of environments people could go to "driving" in their car. I have always been fascinated with flying cars along with time machines ever since I first started watching sci-fi movies.
I always believe all the parts that make the Delorean timemachine was fantastic without any scientific basis. After watch this perfect video 2 things can happen for me. 1)Τhe film is really so so perfectly studied. 2)You, you have a very creative imagination!
This was so cool!! I wish we knew how we controlled where the other end of the wormhole was though, like how does our time input on the keypad manipulate the wormhole into leading there? This was so cool and makes it seem possible to build a time machine, assuming wormholes are real, if they aren't than almost all theorized ways to time travel don't work lol. Loved this so much!
LOVE this video! I also own the Doc Brown's Hayne's guide to the DeLorean Time Machine. I know this is sci-fi and all, but something that I wasn't satisfied with was this. Yeah - we can do a bit of technobabble explanation as to how the reactor works in conjunction w/ the flux bands and the capacitor, etc. etc. etc. to generate the wormhole. What I want to know is how tf the "time circuits computer" interfaces with all of that to send the DeLorean to a specified date/time group. Seems to me like that solution would be just as, if not more complex than the flux capacitor.
I would think that the tachyons being generated in the flux capacitor are given instructions by the time circuits about where/when the destination in space/time is and open a wormhole with that destination in mind. I’m not an engineer by any stretch of the imagination, but that’s just what I think haha
In theory, the time circuits act as a frequency modulator that manipulate the tachyon field to a pinpoint destination. That might explain the time travel part but not sure how it can teleport through space to the exact spot that it went into.
this was a amazing explanation of the Delorean Time Machine! amazing work! also I loved the little movie render after the explanation. was that done in blender or another 3D software?
The only thing i think is wrong your explanation in my opinion is the engine A factory Delorean can't even reach 85 mph Since the sfx they used for the engine sounds were those of a v8 out of a porsche 928 (which at the time was the fastest production car) i always assumed Doc just swapped it in replacing the factory one explaining why he changed the speedometer to mark 95 mph as its top speed and how the Delorean could reach it so fast Other than that fantastic video
This brought so many memories as to when I saw this film for the first time. The way in which the car opened the wormhole through space and time in this video is how it should've actually looked like. Although they did their best
It's been a while sense we seen ya I hope you talk more about space stuff and Propulsion and the newest papers 1 and half year ago or so and new recent news that we are very sure that ftl is possible from popular mechanics about the warp drive would be nice
Nice explanation, missed an opportunity to describe the field-stabilizer illumination as a de-facto Cherenkov Radiation effect in gaseous medium as tachyons transit the light speed barrier from faster than light motion into net positive motion regimes, effectively causing the massive bending of space-time via the transitory mass gain of the tachyons as they disintegrate into faster than light (in air) photons and creating a localized worm-hole, just like in a theoretically possible Albucierre drive.

We didn't discuss corrections needed for the fact that the earth would have travelled millions or billions of kilometres through three dimensional space between 1955 and 1985 and most almost certainly would have been in a different orientation. This would have to be finely corrected or the organic matter in the car would have been hairy, bloody soup at the destination.
1.21 jiggawatts is not the power required to travel through time. It's the power required for the DeLorean to travel through time specifically. Firstly, Doc later makes a train time machine that is powered by steam, which could never produce the power that a nuclear reaction would make. Secondly, at the beginning of the first movie, we see all the clocks around the lab that are 25 minutes slow. They are slow because Doc was sending them all forward in time to test the flux capacitor. But without plutonium, he couldn't make 1.21 jiggawatts. But with a vessel smaller than a car, with stainless steel construction (to help the flux dispersal), it would require less power to travel in time. Something like a refridgerator (which was the original time machine in the original script), it would require a lot of power, but not a nuclear reaction worth. This is why there is a gigantic power amplifier in the lab. You think he made that thing for Marty to play guitar on? Of course not. It's for powering the fridge time machine to send clocks forward in time. Scientific method, my friend. Doc explains the time jump with the clocks to Marty with the stop watches, and it's the only scientific info in the movie that doesn't have a pay off because it is the payoff that explains the set up of the slow clocks at the beginning.
New subscriber here. John Delorean would be in shock how his car is still being talked about in a fictional manner on a digital media platform in 2023. Who would have thought this movie would have made his car now a permanent part of our culture.

Nuclear-powered cars were an actual concept considered in the past. The idea was discarded due to the fact that nuclear reactor + car accident = radiation leakage.
3:11 But what about a train? 🚂 Also, do one about the hoverboard. It can't be maglev because it works on ground that isn't magnetic. It can't be jet powered because there are no intakes and it operates silently and doesn't appear to be disturbing the ground which a jet or propeller would. My guess, scientists in the bttf universe discovered how to manipulate gravitons and thus modify the weight of objects. Originally used by both governments and militaries due to the immense expense, years of research and development meant that by the mid-2000s anti-gravity devices began to make their way into consumer products such as cars, mobility equipment, and children's toys such as skateboards.
