Amen. If I have to only eat eggs, chicken, rabbits and quail I REFUSE TO EVEN TASTE THEIR DAMN BUG BURGERS.NOPE if I don't know what kind of meat it is I'm not eating it. I have 7 chicken hens so I know I can have eggs and chicken meat ( if I borrow my neighbor 's rooster), I've raised rabbits without buying a bit of food, and raised quail until I was spending more money on tiny birds, a month than I did my 100 pound dog. And realized I don't really like quail meat. But I'd rather eat processed bugs and worms by way of chickens and quail than getting them at the grocery store. The only reason I want to have worms and bugs in my hand is to apply them to a fish hook.
I think that was my Mom's favorite remedy. She seemed to recommend it for so many things. Sore throat, tooth ache, laryngitis all got the warm salt water gargle.

I just got 4 lambs as bottle babies, and hopefully they will be the start of a herd. I was just going to raise them and process them until I found out they were Katahdins.

Edit: our over head is around $1200-1500 per head including processing. We gross anywhere from $3000-8000 depending on the breed and how it’s sold. We do bundles and individual cuts on our peids(higher value) and 1/2s and 1/4s on our angus (lower value). It’s ok income. Our money maker is our pastured chicken. Once we add pastured pigs that will be the new bread winner.

That's a huge source of meat in Europe (deer farms). They have it down! I eat more deer when eating out in Switzerland; beef is not so prevalent. Their cows are the milk variety. Most of the beef comes from other countries, like Argentina; and, is very very expensive. Fast food joints may have Western names & logos, but the so-called 'hamburger' is full of fillers. Whole different way of eating, there.

I get so frustrated by the way they go to the extreme. I only occasionally eat fish and while I longed to see appetizing meat alternatives in grocery stores and restaurants (particularly fast food) for years (or back when I still ate at restaurants) I don't support banning meat. The impossible and beyond stuff tastes pretty good (at least coming from someone who doesn't eat actual cheeseburgers 🍔) but I know its not safe. If it was safe they wouldn't be forcing it on us.
