I truly didn't know this about Baker Creek. Thank you. I honestly don't have the money for buying seeds. I save from the year grown. But I am glad to know this just in case I had some money to buy them.
A local Arkansas women gave me a huge box full of separated seeds she has been harvesting from her garden for decades. I get the best tomatoes from those seeds. Trying beans an squash this year.

😂 funny synchronicity, I found that same catalog left behind by someone at the post office. I took it home, and today, I tore into it, literally. All I can say is WOW... Unfortunately I'm one of those in the dark or busy elsewhere, which is even worse being from Missouri and only and hour and a half away. Was just using seed stock I had this year and last. Gotten the catalog but honestly haven't had time to really even look at it other than to say I had it. Seriously appreciate you taking the time to point it out. 👊 Will be continuing to share this information, thank you.
We probably spent $200 on seeds from them in 2020 and had a terrible germination rate and ultimately none of the seedlings took root when transplanted. Haven't bought from them since.
My friend runs a good sized csa and we were talking about companies. She loves the catalogs from them, the seeds not so much because germination is terrible and she knows what she's doing.
Exact same experience. The only thing that's had reliable germination from Baker Creek were a few tomato selections from Wild Boar Farms. I haven't reordered since 2020.
Honestly, I quit Baker Creek when their seeds right from the packet were growing something way different that what's on the packet. I had not heard this news about them "messing up" and getting a GMO tomato, so as you were ranting, I had to look in my catalog and on their website...The catalog specifically says "the purple-est non GMO tomato" (clearly comparing it to the GMO tomato) but it's nowhere to be found on the website, just as you said. What a cluster!!! Keep up the good work Zak
Great video! Your reactions at the end of this video had me laughing. 😅 I love the passion. Keep it up! And I'll be checking out Clearwater Valley Farms.
Thanks Zach I was just starting to look at there catalog to maybe order but thanks to you I look at Clear Water Valley Farms. Thank you and keep up the good fight.
I bought a lot of Baker Creek seeds for several years. Dropped them instantly when they mandated the needle. Was (naively) stunned that that could happen in a deep red rural area.
When you talked about them making their employees get the arm candy I brought it up to them and they went on the attack!! I even brought up the letter. Never bought from them and never will!!
I knew about the tomato debacle, but not the other info 💉. I have a few seed packets previously purchased and don't want to waste them (we'll see if they grow) but no more. And that email reminds me of what was going on at the company i was working for during the 'demic; i was fired for "noncompliance". Baker Creek has eff'd up.
Little Hoss, aka Trav at Lazy dog farm did a video not long ago on Baker Creek purple tomato. Still don't why he don't uses is daddy's seeds seems like fall out yrs ago.

Ashamedly I ordered from them this year. Bought the catalogue too. I'd say it'll be a collectors item but I don't think this age has that much time left. Either way, that's my last order from Baker Creek. Thanks for covering this.
I am sure BC will dump those seeds on our local libraries where we have a program to help people get free seeds. Baker Creek is where I first met you and Jamie! I haven't been back since the insanity began with the pokey poke. See you at the Ozarks Homesteading Expo.
You mean Dave (the previous face of Baker Creek).. He was a good man. Worked hard at Baker Creek caring for the animals. Rumor has it around here he was let go and asked to move out his home on the land.. It was heartbreaking.

Clearwater Valley Farms doesn't ship internationally. MiGardener does though. But, I would still buy something I couldn't get anywhere else from Baker Creek. I'm sad for their need to re-evaluate their recent choices, but I know there is still value in the seeds themselves. Any other companies, Zach?

I didn’t know about Baker Creek. I have their catalog sitting on my desk, going to go shred it now :)
I think farmers should be able to sue Monsanto for contamination rather than the other way around. People dont want gmo. So ridiculous

I have had the same experience. Most seeds didn't germinate. The ones that did were not the plant that the packet claimed they were!
I quit Baker Creek when you first told us about them forcing their employees to get the clot shot. I’m non GMO myself and plan to stay that way.
Me too. I throw their books in the garbage
