Like they aren’t in the way and they seem to almost be like flush with my nail and finger that I don’t clip them or push them back. And I do my own nails at home for years now and never have a problem with lifting or anything. Not to make people feel like they don’t have amazing cuticles or anything lol but I always wondered if mine were weird or if others had that same problem as me cuz I feel like it’d make it worse if I did that to mine since they are I guess like little and not in the way.

    • @sylvfallen
      @sylvfallen 4 месяца назад +44

      There should not be blood. Some people who have sensitive skin will feel it a bit more, if it’s burning the file might have heated up/be too high of speed or they are pushing too far.
      For my own cuticle work it never hurts.

    • @demarcus1020
      @demarcus1020 4 месяца назад +21

      shouldn't be any blood, cuticle work is just exfoliating the dead skin off the nail bed, and potentially trimming any attached still to the rest of the living skin (I don't remember the exact terms and names for all the different parts, so I'm trying to simplify it)
      chances are some folk don't even *need* trimming done, just the initial lifting and stuff, it should *never* be painful though

    • @josefacaceres6379
      @josefacaceres6379 4 месяца назад +6

      Hi, I am from Chile so English isn't my first language, I'm sorry if there's any grammatical mistake😔😔 But now I am doing a professional nail artist course and from what I have learned cuticle work never should hurt or make your hands bleed!! It's true that some people have more sensitive skin than others, but our job is to cause as little pain as possible and NEVER make our client bleed, because the part of the cuticle that we cut are dead cells, so if you go to a manicurist and they end up making your hands bleed and they tell you "that's okay" or if" that's normal" then they aren't a professional manicurist/nail artist. We, as nail artists/manicurists, must be careful to not cause injuries (and if we end up making them) we must sterilize our tools to prevent blood-borne diseases, just like tattoo artists do. I hope that this information helps you!

      Shouldn't cut ur cuticles anyway, just pushing them back is enough. But if its something u rly want to do then when u push ur cuticles back & see obvious extra skin, that's what they r cutting off. But if u push them back and there isn't a lot of obvious dead/dry skin then there's nothing to cut. Some lucky ppl don't have issues with their cuticles over growing a lot or being excessively dry, so never cut any skin that isn't looking dry or dead.

    • @dizzyraez0716

      Only cut dead skin that is growing over the nail plate. I've been doing my own nails for a year and do them about once a week (sometimes it's every few weeks if I just get busy but still no lifting thankfully at this point! Lol)
      But yeah, it took me months of trying to clip only the dead skin and I bled here and there but eventually you'll be able to look and feel the difference! (If you do have any flint that does need to be clipped)

    how long did it take her? i’m trying not to feel bad it takes me all day lol. but i do my own nails and i’m definitely not a tech. everyone wants me to be because my nails look so good BUT it takes me FOREVER!

    • @Kknah91
      @Kknah91 3 месяца назад

      Don’t feel bad at all. It can even take people (myself included) multiple days, depending on your attention span, other obligations, and if you’re attempting a new type of nail art on top. I’m not a tech either lol but I break up the process like removal one day, prep/getting or building the nail on there and then art on a different day. I’ve read in other comment sections that a lot of other people do that as well!

      @@sweetycutie5924Please do more research. Just because she has gel on them doesn't mean it stops being her natural nails. It's on there to protect her nails from breaking while they grow. They didn't do 3 layers of gel. It's a thin layer called a slip layer that doesn't get cured and then a bigger bead of product for the structure. File (if it needs it) and then the design. Gel isn't the only product you can put designs on. Acrylic, dip, Polygel, etc can have designs too made out of gel polish, gel paint, whatever.
