Due to the youtube hacks and know it all cool guys, I need to correct something. I understand it's WALTHURRRRR not WALTER! And thanks for correcting the way I talk.
Your pronunciation was fine before.
Thanks to both you and your wife for this comparison. (I'm going to go with both.)
You actually pronounced it closer to the correct way the first time! 👏 In German, it’s pronounced “Valter”. It’s German for Walter. They’re a German brand. So if anyone wants to get super technical…it’s pronounced “Valter”.
The Americanize way is pronouncing it Walther, with a TH sound. Which is not the correct pronunciation. My last name is German and people mispronounce it all the time. Doesn’t make it right just cuz the masses say it one way.
EITHER WAY THIS IS A GREAT VIDEO!!! Thank you for this video. I’m considering these two and you’ve been a big help. Kudos to your wife for filming and not flinching with brass in her boot!
People have too much time on their hands
I have the 43xmos Glock and the compact pdp. I love the pdp but carry the Glock for size reasons.
@@Joe-oo3xv agreed. I carry shadow system cr920 for that same reason
We know that handguns "vs" videos are defintely all about personal preference... but that being said... We are happy that the PDP F-Series pulled out the W! Keep in mind that the iron sight cut we used on our PDP and PDP F-Series will accomodate most of the G19 & G17 aftermarket BUIS. There are ton on the market! Great video!
I trust my family's protection to my PDP. Best compliment I can give it. 👍
I have gen 1 PDP 4''and I will be getting the PDP F series for my summer EDC while having mt regular PDP for fall/winter EDC. PDP all year round
What we need is a micro that takes the same mags. Canik just did it and i think y’all can do it as well. I’ll definitely get one for the summer days. Just picked up a compact pro sd and love it.
A slimmer F model would be perfect.
5” model of the f please
PDP F Series is the Best Choice!!! I own the 43x, 365xl, and FN 509. F Series for the win!
I own the sig p365 std and pdp f. For me, they are two different categories. The sig is a compromise, it's designed for deep concealment. It's not as flat shooting or as accurate as the walther, it is excellent in the micro compact category however. The walther is a do it all weapon. It's competing against glock 19, sig p320, and cz. For me, the walther pdp f and regular pdp beats all it's competitors. I own glock 19x, sig p320xc, HKVP9SK, Smith mp 2.0, sig 365, for reference. Just my opinion.
365SAS, LCP Max,PDP-F,Hellcat,G-19,23etc… for all slightly different reasons 😉
That's a great take. I like the P365 for every day carry and I prefer shooting the PDP-F (and I shoot it a lot better). The Walther PDP-F is just a pleasure to shoot. SCS-PDP-GRN should arrive in a day or two. Can't wait to start training with it.
Fantastic 👍
Shot the Walther pdp f once and I have been wanting one ever since. I have the two “kings” in the micro department, the Sig 365 and the Hellcat and (I know I’ll get hate from this) I like the hellcat a lot more than the sig.
On point opinion, imo 😅
The f is also available with a 3.5 inch barrel and it takes Glock style sights.
Great video! Y'all are the only ones I've seen who give a comparison on the two. I definitely want to see this Walther f series vs the p365x macro which would feel more like its competitor.
Width is really the critical dimension. I am a huge Walther fan. If Walther can trim the F model down to 1” wide it would be more competitive in the concealed carry market. I carry the Hellcat pro. Same General footprint as the 3.5” F model, but it’s .34” slimmer. 15 rounds with flush fit mags.
Yeah, but the Hellcat is not as stable a platform as the PDP is. Like all ultra-slim pistols, it's snappy AF.
The F fits great in my hands, very tight.
Great video!
It's basically a full size gun with a narrow handle. So you get to shoot ability of a full size with the compatibility of concealed. Walter makes the best Striker fire triggers. On top of that that good is specifically designed for Red Dot. It's only going to get better from there
Comparing these two is comparing apples to oranges. The PDP-F is a compact where the 365 is a sub/micro compact. I have these same two guns and shoot the PDP-F slightly better and faster. However, I know that’s because of its increased size and weight. I could compare the PDP-F to a full size and odds are I will shoot the full size better and faster. Does that make the full size better? For a CCW, the PDP-F is chunky and not easy to hide where the 365 excels. The 365 is not the best shooting gun out there due to its small size. That’s the sacrifice you make in order to achieve maximum concealment. Now, I’m not saying the 365 is better either. Just saying this comparison is not fair when only talking about speed and accuracy between the two.
All true words. When comparing which is better between a cheetah and a dolphin, who decides whether the definitive test is a run or a swim?
Love the honesty!
Good review Jason, subscribed, and look forward to your other videos. Thank you
Thank you sir 🇺🇲
People don't realize just how great the PDP/PDP-F is until they rapid fire and see how fast the gun returns to zero. It's absolutely unparalleled and amazing!
Jason, Thanks for sharing. I too have a 365; however just purchased the 3.5 “ barrel and look forward to shooting it for the first time next week!
They are awesome. I love them. Flat trigger is key on that pistol brother. If you don't ha e one, look into it. 🇺🇲
Your wonderful wife's perspective of carrying a P365 and how well she liked the first shots of the PDPF is good for me cause consulting with females these are two guns I recommend it would of been interesting to see how well she shot her P365 as a comparison.
The second you kicked on slayer I subscribed, and I own a 4" & 5" pdp. They both have Floyd's mag wells with Floyd's mag bottoms, but the 5" has a holosun 507c (Bottom 3rd) and the performance trigger. Krazy pistol for killer tunes
I want to replace my 320 RXP compact with the Walther PDP F as my carry gun. Thanks for the honest review!
Thank you for a GREAT video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Loved the video and great to see both a man and woman shoot the guns. Would be great to hear your wife's perspective of the Walther vs the sig as well.
Great video. I’m between the barbed wire on these also. I have the PPQ M1, but giving that to my son who loves it.
Walther is a great weapon. Underrated
That plate separation that you were talking about @6:15 is the sole reason why my wife went for the 365X. Otherwise great review.
Really nice job on this comparison. I wonder if the P365XL would have faired better in terms of accuracy and comfort. I own the P365XL and I prefer the grip without the separation you get with a 12rd mag in the standard P365. Some shooters prefer the flat trigger on the P365XL. That can also affect how it shoots.
I personally am a flat trigger guy. The xl was too large on the grip and mag, and caused imprinting. I am currently running the shadow systems cr920. It's pretty much a glock, but I like it
I wouldn’t worry about size or conceal since PDP 5 also comes in 3.5 barrel which beats “ the rated champion”. Also other sights available. Non issues!
I’m tripping on the foot shuffle before you shoot 😂
What about all the rust complaints I hear about the P365?
I have the XL and I bought it because I have smaller hands . Not tiny but I found the xL has a comfortable grip. I’m happy they came out with an F model. I plan on buying one in the future . It may replace my sig226 with the E2 grip. I don’t like selling guns so I may still keep it because it’s in 40.
yeah, i do the same. The 9mm just seems to have less recoil for more control. but I always say, you shoot what's comfortable for you, and you only. but that f series suprised the hell out of me!
Probably be a little more fair if you compared the Macro grip to the PDP F grip, but I get the fact you were comparing your edc's. Great video and keep up the great work 👍
For a more even comparison, you should have compared the PDP-F 4" to a P365XL.. or the P365 to a PDP-F 3.5".
None the less.. I have the XL in an Icarus grip with McArbo trigger kit and stock PDP 4" compact.. 4" to 4", the PDP is a nicer shooter but the XL is an easier concealment.
I interchange depending on how I dress
all good points
Totally agree on the 4" vs. 4". PDP is the nicest shooter I have in that length, but XL is thinner/better concealment, but harder shooter. I'm looking to get my hands on the PDP F to see if it retains the shooting of the PDP but in a smaller footprint, so better to carry.
@@-CrampedStyle- yeah, that's what I was saying also.....the 365 is easier to conceal, but the pdp-f was a better shooter for sure. Hands down
WALTER FUGLY! LOOKS LIKE A NEW BERETTA.
@@molonlabe33 also...it is a WalTHer, not a WalTer. thank you.
I'm assuming that Walther went with Glock pattern sights to make upgrades easy.
Remember the F-series comes in a 3.5" slide as well, so it can be a good EDC as well, I will be getting a F series for my summertime T-shirt carry, it's a challenge to carry my 4"' PDP compact when it's really hot outside
Agree. A lot. The 365 is easier to conceal. Thanks for watching! 🇺🇲
Actually, I was thinking of doing something similar. I also like the Sig 365-380 (I'm thinking Rose), so that would be nice, as noted by someone else here, as something for deep concealment. I'm debating on buying a 4" PDP-F for home defense.
@@HotVoodooWitch not a bad choice , PDP is a great option but hey I’m a Walther fan-boy , shoot one before you decide, they can be a bit “ snappy “ on the recoil but otherwise I love them
@@theblackboxpodcastshow1791 I appreciate your response. I'd love to test drive a PDP-F but they're just not available to rent (or even buy) at most ranges. In fact, the only guns that interest me that seem to be available for rent are Sigs. 🤷🏼♀
I'd be comparing xl, not starting 365...and 3.5 in barrel, not 4
Any further updates after this video?
My wife was stuck between buying either a p365XL or the PDP F series 4” barrel model. She ended up choosing the Walther.
for once, honest test. thanks a lot guys
Can you please do a comparison of S&W Shield Plus 9 mm and Atlas Artemis 40 caliber.
Great video, brother. Don’t let the haters get to you. The PDP series has definitely put Walther back in the game in a big way! For concealed/edc though, even the F is a monster compared to the p365. The holy grail is always the pistol that holds 15 rounds of 9mm in a flush mag, shoots like a 1911, and conceals like an LCP. I think the laws of physics are against us on that one though.
I own the SIG XMacro TacOps and the Walther PDP. Both are great guns. The standard Xray sights that come on the SIG are fantastic. Walther uses polymer sights which are really throw-away sights if you plan to EDC them. The SIG is easier to conceal and more comfortable to carry and shoots extremely well. Having said that, I LOVE my Walther PDP but upgraded to steel sights.
Why not a P320 3.9" barrel and 15 rnd mags? This is my EDC and it seems like it would be a better match up tot the Walther.
Good point. I have several p320. But they don't conceal very well. But I can do one on that also.
I thought she did phenomenal. Great control.
Amazing video
Thanks!
Good video. One of the issues I’m having with the PDP F series is I have not been able to find any IWB holsters for it for concealed carry
Vedder Lighttuck....The PDP Compact models are compatible with the F-Series.
so am I. Only holsters and no plate yet
Dara holsters.
Slimfit holsters
I use a 1791 brand holster, it's leather, but they are made for the pdp f IWB.
Great video
Thank you
The Walther had a better ejection pattern for the brass if that makes a difference. I own the 365 and it's actually the gun I choose to carry most often. I also on the Walther PDP and I love that gun it's beautiful and it shoots so accurately. I am actually going to buy the water pdpf series because I love the water PDP I own now thanks for the video.
thank you for doubling target
I have the Sig X Macro with custom match Gold barrel goes out past the first slot and I had the barrel ported so its as custom as it gets. I am looking at the Walther PDP F and may go buy it today Im saving up for the Patriot Ordinance Factory Revolution but cant buy them right now in Washington State which is F'd up, hopefully the injuctuon lifts the illegal gun ban and ill grab it right away. I do need another 9mm and was thinking the Canik but the Walther PDP F is a great choice for another 9mm, also need another 10mm too lol my Springfield Elite is a beast I love the 10mm round!!!
Sights on the Walther have the same footprint as a Glock. Trijicon, Ameriglo, Tru-glo, and many more. Great idea to use the same sights as the most popular handgun in the USA. Get suppressor height sights and a red dot.
Yeah I changed out the sights already. I have a red dot but getting. Plate from walther is like pulling teeth! I guess they've been out.
@@molonlabe33 Friendly consideration: CH Precision Weapons Optics plate
@@kyvmp I called them, they don't have them actually out yet. Last week they were still in QC. Thanks brother
@@molonlabe33 For which red dot? I have one on my PDP for the Holosun 509T and Night Fision Stealth Tritium sights (lower 1/3rd)
@@kyvmp I have a vortex for it but I don't have the plate yet! This plate thing is killing me
My wife has a P365 and shoots it really well. But she kept getting her pinky pinched every now and again between the pinky extension and bottom of the magwell. So I bought her the grip module direct from Sig Sauer ($80) that allows use of the 12 round flush-fit magazines and installed it in 5 minutes-problem solved. And she loves it even more now.
I bought the Walther PDP-F two months ago and fell in love with it immediately…so much that I sold my Hellcat Pro. Now, the stock sights on the Walther are, well, garbage if I’m being honest. I put Trijicon GL-01 (Glock 17/19) tritium sights in it within a week. This pistol (so far) is everything I’ve wanted in a stock pistol at a reasonable price-superior ergonomics, fantastic trigger, and shoots great. My wife has only put a couple of mags through it, but she really likes it…way more than my Hellcat Pro.
Since you put a better trigger in the P365, put some aftermarket sights in the Walther to even the features a bit more. Still, regardless of which one you choose, you can’t go wrong with either pistol.
100%. Both are awesome. Yes the sights aren't a high point, but out of the box trigger and all? Thing is an animal. I was in shock. Its bigger than the 365, so a bit unfair of comparison but nonetheless it's awesome. But my wife still carries p365. I picked up a shadow systems cr920. Oh boy........that's a whole different ball game
Tape a small piece of sponge or foam over your camera microphone to block out that wind noise. Thx for sharing!
Get the Lok grip brass back strap it makes it even better.
I’ve never shot the mcarbo trigger but it looks like it puts the trigger very far forward in the guard
It's actually more deceiving than it looks. Plenty of room though
Honestly all these Compact Carry guns are Amazing these days!!
They are all great options!!
I love Walther pdp f series 3.5…. That said it might been a better comparison with a 365 Xmacro..
i carry all 3 of those you mentioned (P365 Xmacro, walther pdp f 3.5 & cr920X) also a Staccato CS… tbh they are all 4 AMAZING options. More bout your mood and how you’re dressing that day tbh lol well at least it is for me 🤷🏻♂️
Great video nonetheless bud
I have been trying to locate a PDP-F to try ,size wise , for months without success. I'll keep trying as I think it will be my next choice.
I think I'm just going to bite the bullet (well, not literally) next month. Walthers don't seem to be available to try at my local ranges.
@@HotVoodooWitch, just get one, if you haven’t already. If you’re local has one snag it, then try it. Walther has a 30 dat try and buy guarantee. If you don’t like it for any reason within 30 days they will refund your purchase.
Here’s something you all might be interested in…. If you’re local has one snag it, then try it. Walther has a 30 day try and buy guarantee. If you don’t like it for any reason within 30 days they will refund your purchase price. That goes for any firearm they manufacture.
I ended up finding one finally . Added a Holosun green dot.....excellent. Definitely made the right choice. With my alien gear holster rig....perfect for me.
Walther PDP- F and it's not even close
Saved By Zero- The Fixx
I think that real comparison would be with the x-compact of Sig
Haven’t shot the F series but my full size PDP does all a zone at will with full out bill drills.. mostly a few b/c at 25 yard bills drills lol.. best shooting gun for me outside high end 1911/2011 pistols.. I have small hands but I have issues with walther and slide lock when I really get in the gun.. I actually wish they would make a more traditional style lever tbh..
Never had that issue with my ppq but my pdp I fail to get slide lock 90% if the time..
I have the xmacro and both the regular pdp compact and the pdpf. I put the sig as the dub for my preference. 17+1 in a handgun that size is hard yo topple. But all day the pdp series on the trigger. The xmacros trigger is OK, as compared to the specter comp. That trigger is like finger banging 4 day old rotten rice.
Love all guns mentioned, though.
🤣🤣 appreciate the opinion. That was perfect. For a stock trigger I was suprised on that walther. But I will be replacing it. Of course
Yeah I didn't like the sights on them so I took them off and they do have night sights and it's so better
One thing I don’t like about the pdp-f is even though it’s small “compact” it’s still looks fairly tall and thick looking . Two issues that make a pistol hard to conceal. I can’t find any specs or even the f on the website but it looks fairly thick. Walther always seems to overlook conceal ability aspect which is disappointing.
Yes and no. I actually had a great holster company (found them) and I was able to appendix carry it pretty well and concealed. Now the pdp or ppq, not so much. I see why you thought that though.
@@molonlabe33 what holster company did you go with? Did you go a sidecar style holster or just the firearm alone holster? I keep going back and forth in my head. I never have owned a sidecar style before. Curious on your thoughts. I just got the PDP-F and love it. I am finding that it is hitting down and to the left straight out of the box. I might have to adjust the sights. But finally a firearm I can reach the mag release! 🤗
@@rossborgwardt1036 weird, mine did the same thing. I actually use a company called slim fit holsters. I conceal carry it, appendix. Other than that, for range I use trex sidecar holsters. So does my son. Super easy and reliable
@@molonlabe33 did you just adjust the sights on it, or did you go with different ones?
You can easily change out the sights on the Walther. Personally I like the front sight on Sigs, but there's not quite enough "open air" on the rear sights on Sigs. So that would definitely get changed.
What sunglasses are you wearing?
Bolle
Thes 2 guns seem to be in different classes my pdp f is basically the size of a g19 and 365 is significantly slimmer thst being said i go pdp all day long
Mag Tech are HOT rounds for plinking stuff, shooting my 10mm a lot there's a lot of toned down plinkers
Yea man Walther takes an rds and can use any Glock sites. Pretty easy choice here
I saw the wife and I was like. Damn. You did well bud.
I would like to see the PDP-F VS the HKVP9sk The VP9sk is the most comfortable gun I've ever shot. It feels like it was custom made for my hand.
That's the only one I don't have lol. I thing I'm going to do a glock in a comparison. Actually a shadow systems and the 365 is next
I have a PDP Compact (not the F) and also an HK VP9SK. They are very similar in size and how they carry. Both are excellent. I shoot the PDP a bit better. But I LOVE the VP9SK. I use HK 13 Rd mags with my VP9SK. (13+1 in the pipe) No dog in that race really ...except the PDP has the Optics plate system. Hmmm
@Gary Roberts I was really suprised at how ni e it was stock. The whole thing. Imo they shouldn't market it as the "F" because of the female aspect of it. It's just smaller circumference on grip to trigger. Thing was awesome though
They do have night sights for them.
Wouldn’t the P320 compact be a more appropriate comparison? The P365 is considered an micro compact
Yes and no. Pretty close size wise except round count. But that's what people asked for so 🤷♂️
I don't think you accuracy was much better with the PDP, your 365 was a up and down miss and the pdp has left and right shots. The PDP is more difficult to carry ( fatter gun longer grip). I have both and I like both very much but the 365 is a better gun to conceal
It is easier to conceal. I've had alot more trigger time with both. The walther still out guns my 365. Trust me I love my 365, it's been my baby since the day it came out. But I also have to be honest, that walther is a beast
At the risk of sounding stodgy, I don't understand, other than marketing purposes, why Walther discontinued the PPQ series. I thought I it was, and still is, a fine pistol. The PDP is a great pistol, but bring back the PPQ, Walther!
I understand where you are coming from, but as someone who owns both a PPQ and PDP, the PDP is just a 100% upgrade. I will always love the PPQ design but the PDP is truly the new and improved PPQ in my opinion. Wouldn't make much sense for them to allocate funding to a older pistol now, but maybe in a few decades or so.
Slayer!!!!
Yeah buddy!
Isn’t the Walther is a bigger gun?
The F series sights are compatible with Glock sites of u didn’t know
I did not know that
My last comment ended abruptly. Your going to change everything because sig just brought out the 365 MACRO 17 round gun. New grip with rear add ons and a comp and 19113 rail. I have one it perfect
Ugh, well it might be time to do another!
Why are you dropping the empty mags on the dirt? You have to clean them later, you are not in a combat situation.
I was thinking the same thing but, it’s his stuff
Great review I like the side by side comparison. I own both pistol manufacturers. My Walther is the SD Pro with the upgraded trigger. I’ve only dry fired it but it’s just
awesome in the hand!
Thanks!✝️🇺🇸
Both are nice. Thanks for watching brother! 🇺🇲
The pdp f is 3.5 in barrel not 4 guys in case you were wondering
Should have used the Walther compact
The sights suck on the Walther. It was desinged to be a red dot firearm. The gun was literally designed around the red dot.
shadow systems was designed around the red dot, no plate needed. PDP still needs a plate.
Well of course I’m always more accurate with a longer barrel. To me the Walter and my Glock 45 are perfect concealed carry weapons. I have a Springfield Ronin 4.25 inch barrel it’s a good conceal carry gun
Man, I have had a p365 for a few years now and after getting a PDP SD Pro 4.5" I have been considering a compact pdp and the F series. Out of the box the stock Walther trigger is noticeably better than the stock Sig one, add in their upgraded model from the Pro series and man, best out of the box trigger. Wish that trigger worked in the F series and I would just get the F series over thinking about the Compact PDP.
Exactly. And it's still can be concealed.
@@molonlabe33 Yeah, the goal for sure would be to carry it with the pdp compact or F-series. The 4.5" pro is just a but too much for me when I sit as I do appendix. To the credit of the p365, I can almost forget it is there. The Macro still crosses my mind on occasion.
@@66racer I have a shadow systems cr920 also. Probably my go to now
@@molonlabe33 they seem to be very well reviewed. I will probably stick with the Sig for daily use and maybe get a Macro but when I have the fam with me, the Walther is coming along. The F or compact would be appealing to daily drive because the mags all work from the full size PDP into the smaller guns. So now I only need to worry about one mag
Two different categories of pistol. I would recommend the PDP F to someone who is looking at a G19 or Smith M&P 2.0 Compact. The P365 I would recommend to an experienced shooter who is looking for a deep concealment gun and they are an accomplished shooter with a compact pistol like the G19.
Liked the vid for a few reasons. First one being the Slayer song *when they were good*
Ameriglo tritium sights 🔥
Modifies one pistol and does a comparison with a stock pistol, brilliant.
G48/G43× 🙌
Thanks for your review. Good comments. Odd little side step shuffle you do to get into your shooting stance. Why the out of nowhere heavy rock/metal? Haha.
Lol, I have no idea, mood I guess 🤷♂️. Random though
I have that same Walther. Great pistol but I would take the SIG for CC. Strictly due to its smaller footprint. I don't care about the grip or this and that for CC pistol. Why would it matter? Too me the size matters.
What holster does the 3.5 inch use?
Nothing yet. The p365 is a t Rex holster. The walther doesn't have one yet. Alot of the pdp, just not the pdp-f
I have a concealment express for a compact the f works fine in it
That was my issue too. Can’t find a IWB holster for the PDP F.
@@noosh8316 Dara holsters makes them
Slimfit holsters! I got one and I love it!
I prefer the 365 sights. But the walther trigger is way better. Yes there are people who like the sig style trigger more, I think it's mushy
I completely agree. I own primarily walther and the sig trigger just doesn't keep up. I do like my 365 sights.
Should be the sig xl version.
I haven't really tried out my PDP yet, but I have high hopes. That being said, I've shot the hell out of my P365, and my PDP is gonna have to be damn near godlike to make it look bad. I don't doubt that it may edge it out, but I do doubt its going to wipe the floor with it.
Could be. It's more subjective because of preferen e. But I was really suprised. And I'm a huge sig fan
I shoot both pistols well but I like shooting the Walther better (personal preference). If I had to pick one, I know which I'd take.
Your PDP-F in this comparison is 3.5" (had to double check) tlr7a is flush with 4" only. Hangs off of 3.5 (like yours) and also 3.5" has 3 rear serrations and 2 front serrations (like yours). Tlr7a/Holosun SCS/lok backstrap = perfection.
This is an odd comparison. A comparison that would make more sense is Walther PDP F vs. Sig P365 X Macro or the P320 X Compact.
Not really a straight comparison, but it's the new thing against what you both run. Put the Walther next to an XL or a 365 Macro. The size of the grip and length of the slide will be much more similar than the original 10 round micro P365.
I have all of the above. I still carry a P365 SAS with a flush 10rd in it and two backups with MagGuts +2 springs and base plates.
The Walther is Glock sight compatible

The nice thing about the Walther is it uses Glock sights
Yes. I had to switch them out with my red dot anyway. Still love that pistol
