Just extended my kitchen pantry following your instructions and example. Thank you.
That's so amazing to hear😍! We bet it looks amazing✨
now that's what you call a construction guide! No messing around, straight to the point , short and sweet like a donkeys trot 👌
Its simple, and very detailed, even on how to screw the middle stud perpendicular to the top and base,
I have cork board floor tiles - could I drill straight into them?
Hi there, if they are cork composite makeup with a plastic film (possibly with ceramic layers) it will likely be OK, but if it’s a cheaply made glued cork we would suggest against drilling into it. I hope this helps!
You make it look so easy 😭 I’d bring the house down if I tried 😂
Give it a go 💪 We'll be on hand if you need any support 🛠
Nice idea
Nice!
How thick the wood should be please ?
The wood used can be found at the link below!

Why just why am I watching this
How did you fix the ceiling plate to the the ceiling? Looks like you just screwed into the plasterboard?
How did you find the joist if above is not exposed
@@Apocalypse_666 you can use a magnetic to find the screws which will be in the joist otherwise I think it's not essential to fix the top plate as it should be pinched in with a very tight fit and attached to each stud so has a fair amount of support
@@Apocalypse_666 You can buy stud finders.
did you drill it into the floor? or just wall and ceiling
The only drilling required is the flooring beam. The vertical wall studs and the ceiling plate do not require any drilling. We hope this helps 😊
Could you please speed up this video, it's far too slow!
I have no intention or will to build a stud wall at the moment, but that was so satisfying to watch :)
Glad I watch this, way easier than what I had in mind. Thanks a million :-)
Glad it helped 😊 If you have any photos of your project, we'd love to see them! Be sure to tag us on Instagram 📷 #bandqit
Nice & simple informative video, love it.
For the studs going against a plasterboard wall and plasterboard ceiling would I use the regular wood screws or for those studs I would need plasterboard specific screws? Thanks, nice and simple video
Omg! I’m here for the same reason. What did you end up doing?
helped me complete my construtoin work in school
👏😊
@b&q do you need to secure the ceiling plate to ceiling ?
My ceiling is not concrete by plasterboard . I just want to confirm if I need to screw the the ceiling plate . Thanks
Hi, yes, and use plasterboard fixings to aid this. These are widely available in store or use an adhesive, no nails or similar. I hope this helps!
What! They're actually called noggins?? I thought my dad made that up! 😂
Learn something new everyday 😄
Can i lay a stud wall on top of laminate floor? it's a new floor don't say i have to remove it plz😒
Hi there, we wouldn't recommend doing this. You will need to ensure you secure the sole plate into the floor.
What would I do if my wood is warped a lot and I don't have anything else?
Hi, wood that has warped a lot wouldn't be suitable for this.
I cant seem to find any 3 inch wood screws which would you suggest 75mm or 80mm wood screws please?
Hi, there. Either or would work depending on the thickness of the material you're building with and securing onto. Hope this helps. 😊
Nice study wall!
We're so happy you like it! 😊
I’m ready for a coffee now.
Enjoy your well deserved cuppa ☕🛠
An excellent way to show things- I present it to my student in vocational, construction high school in Warsaw at vocational English classes. I love the guitar music, too. Thank you heaps!
Hi, Hanna & Students 👋 We're glad these videos help 🙌 Keep up the great work 🛠
I have concrete floor, how do i screw in the screws?
Hi 👋 Thank you for your question! We'd recommend using a masonry screw for concrete flooring as they're specially designed to fix materials to masonry surfaces such as concrete or brick. Please click the following link for more info: bit.ly/33CsB9r. We hope this helps 🛠
Would it be best to remove hardwood floor where the floor plate will be before screwing it in? Thanks!
Yes it is better to remove floor plate.
Straight to the point. That’s how you teach
Teaching made easy 😉 Glad you liked it!
So screw the ceiling beam anywhere along the wood or does it have to go into the wooden slats in the ceiling?
The ceiling support beam can be drilled into the flooring in any sequence as the vertical studs don't required to be screwed in. We hope this helps 😊
Wait did he drill to the concrete
Yes, buy concrete screws for the best result, standard practice in the trade.
How do you do this with tile flooring? I have straight concrete under the title
Hi, there 👋 You'd require a tile drill point. They cut cleanlyy through ceramics, porcelain and natural stone whilst minimising the risk of damage to these delicate materials 😊 You can view these on the following link: bit.ly/3EyjwuC 🛠
@@bandq I'll just anker it to the walls, thanks though
How find support on Ceiling?
The ceiling plate is supported by the vertical wall studs. We hope this helps 😊
When are the drywall screws used?
when you fit the plasterboard onto the studs
Excellent, what size wood did you use? It says 89 x 38, what about the width?
Note for me:
Calculate lengths of base and ceiling plate with chalked lines. Ensure plumb.
Cut ceiling and base plate,
Stack base and ceiling plate on floor to measure the vertical studs.
Secure base plate.
Mark centre of base plate. Mark placement of vertical studs from there.
Dry fit the ceiling plate and vertical studs in place. Ensure plumb.
Secure vertical studs at 45 degree angle.
Secure ceiling plate.
Mark noggins every 1200 mm
Secure noggins at alternate heights, 45 degree angle.
Drywall scews 32 mm
3 inch wood screews (7.6 cm)
Hi, the measurements are (L)2.4m (W)89mm (T)38mm. I hope this helps! 😄
How do you know the wood on the floor is straight?
Hello 👋 We'd advise using a spirit level 🛠
What size wood was used in this video?
Says it at the start of the video - 89mm x 38mm CLS
2x4
2x4
Pie Face looks like cls 38x63
Hi, do you need to screw the top piece into a wooden joist or straight into the ceiling plaster board?
@@bandq ok thanks, how would you find the joist?
