When I was little, Dad made a dulcimer. He got it all ready to to and took it to Mamaw. Nobody has ever been happier with something and gotten more use from something than that dulcimer.

Thank you for sharing your friend with us, Donnie! My grumps was from Louisa, KY and his family moved there from Tennessee before that. His grandfather was a woodworker and made dulcimers, furniture, and weaving looms. It’s haunting to hear the old American instruments still played, makes my heart happy! I have a bowed psaltery myself and love the sound. Good health to you and Curt!

Hello cousin donnie. Thank you for putting up a new video. It's really nice to see video of Fonde mountain where my mom was raised for a portion of her childhood. I haven't been there since my childhood I think I'm going to have to take a drive up there just to take a look around at all the beauty

I have a mountain dulcimer made in the early 60s in North Carolina. It won't hold a tune very well but I have enjoyed playing it a little. It's a beautiful instrument.

Beautiful! What a beautiful sound! I miss the days when I was a young girl and my family would gather together. My uncle’s and cousins would play guitar, banjo, fiddle, the gut bucket bass- and sing the old songs. Good blue grass music. It’s a lost art. Which is sad. Wonderful good old time music 🎶 God bless you Mr. Laws.
