Kyle, just want you to know that I’ve been very inspired by your videos, and your approach to restoration. So last week I reshingled my termite infested shed, before I demolished it.
I am so inspired by Kyle that I planish my scrambled eggs before I serve them. Also, I only cook one side at a time to minimize shrinkage. Always left the left slide cool completely down before tackling the right side!
Time well spent!
The metal working without Bondo is the only reason that I watch your channel....and to see how fast you can wreck a perfectly good coat.
Since you are doing a full custom car the old school way on your own time/budget I can only say thank you for taking the time to explain every step of the way
Thank you for taking the time to watch these videos!
I've learned more from watching your videos than 5 other channels combined
Thanks! I'm glad to hear that these videos are helpful!
Best cat channel on RUclips, I live vicariously through you
Kyle your skill level has been showing up again with the outstanding quality of your workmanship on doing this project. My whole life working on vehicles, mechanic and body both, I have always worked to do my very best to get it as close to perfection as possible, but without learning the techniques to accomplish it, I just wished I could have been able to get anywhere near close to the level of skills that you possess. My hats off to you for your amazing skills you have and thank you for sharing your knowledge through your videos, keep up the good work. I must say the cats are so adorable and with the updates hilarious. Later
that pick tool is pretty neat. i like the walk through with the traditional tools too but the updates on the battle of the blue chair is the kind of hard nosed journalism missing from cnn and fox news. super appreciated!
You just make a person want to take the extra few minutes to make it just that much better. Kudos, and thank you.
Your videos are always filled with a lot of information there’s already enough other guys out there who have cave and pave videos.
I am here for the metal work and the techniques, glad you are not using filler.
Kyle... I'm Gobsmacked! I just Love your No Bondo Repair!! Truly... a Thing of Beauty!!!
Thank you for taking your metal work to the next level , there are not many of these guys left . Body man in a can is to easy I guess . A pleasure to watch a master , and thanks for that Kyle....
You demonstrate very clearly what can be accomplished if you take your time and take pride in your work
Great Job, as a war correspondent, in the battle of the Blue Chair!
The camera was at the perfect angle to see where the shrinking disk was a shrinking. Now I understand it's usefulness! Outstanding work as always! Keep it up!
I don't come here for the bondo, there's a million sculpting channels out there (ok ok, I didn't actually count them 😂 )
I really enjoy the metal work and your detailed explanations, and most importantly the antics 👍👍👍
Another great video Kyle. Thank you for the explanation. I feel that the reason you go so far with metal finishing is because you have the skills. Us mere mortals “do our best and fill the rest “ or maybe rush and forget our best. You are a good reminder to us all to practice the right way.
You’re definitely great at your craft! The patience and ability rarely seen in metal finishing now days.
Thanks, Kyle. Every day is school day on your channel.
Love to watch you work you metal skills. We had a gray cat for 16 years. He's gone now . Still can hear him running up and down the steps now and then.😎✌️👍❤️🇺🇸
Kyle's sarcastic humor has infiltrated the comments to the point that he runs the risk of being eclipsed by the very monster he created.
You are doing a great job that’s the way it should be done. use the minimal body filler. and that’s called a professional bodyworker
What I have learned so far from your videos is it would be best if I do not start a project that requires body work of any kind. I'm afraid I would be in over my head. Here at my home, it's the war of the cat tree.. I have to send in the white helmet peacekeepers at least twice a day. Your loyal viewer in a shed.
My cat tree is structurally compromised thanks to years of claw attacks at the base. The cats are smart enough to know that a bombed out tree on the verge of collapse isn't worth fighting for.
The nice thing Randahl is having a cool ride with canvas sides requires little panel work... Now as long as your feline friends Don't use The Speedster as a scratching post!😼😲
Good Lord, the "I think I'm in over my head" would have hit me super hard on all this. Keep up the great work!
You are a metal finisher. You are a rare breed sir, most folks including some of the most respected car builders would short strand glass over all the stuff you’re finishing in metal, When anyone who wants an older restored car would prefer a metal finished car. The work you do is more than likely something no car builder would do because even they do not possess the patience. You’re work is excellent and you surly get all my respect absolutely. 💯
Kyle I love the look of the Pontiac donor car . I live in the lower 48 and I've never seen a Pontiac of this year and model . I own and drove a 1955 Pontiac in high school .
I loved that car while all my friends rode Tri-Five Chevys I drove my Pontiac w/ Pontiac power . I love and have learned even at 73 yrs. your videos and work
72 and I drove a 55 Pontiac convertible in high school. Purple and white. My dad drove a Pontiac of the donor’s vintage long before that. I love those waterfall hood and deck trims.
I never get tired of watching you shape sheet metal. The standard of your work is second to none. As for body filler I can remember way back watching American Hotrod where the whole car got "buttered" with filler and sanded back. The cars looked amazing but to me the body filler is very soft and if you touch anything there will be a noticeable scratch. So in my opinion if you are making a garage/trailer queen used for pot hunting in shows, then its ok, but for a vehicle that is to be driven the less filler the better in my opinion.
Must be really cold where you are in Saskatchewan! Because you busted out with the cold weather jacket! Good looking jacket😊
even though i have been doing this stuff for longer than you have been alive....i am always learning something new and your tutorials are easy to follow and well explained.
i will always be an untrained self taught amateur and i am glad of people like you that take the time to explain it all.
cheers joe
My orange cat is on my lap as I watched this. He looks just like yours.
Kyle, I really am impressed on how the part of the roof you welded up came put. It is amazing on what all you have to do to have it come out right, and not just bondoing the hell out of everything. The work you do is done the old way where there was pride in doing a job the right way. Thank you for showing this! The news report on the Battle for the Blue Chair was amazing, so used to now days where correspodents don't even fact check. I'm sure that the reporter should receive an award for excellence in journalism.
Thanks for explaining your steps and how you did it. The results are simply amazing to me. The part of the roof you did does look like it came that way from the factory. Really nice and smooth. Looking forward to seeing the next one.
I like your metal work, reminds me of when I was young and was about the only body man still doing lead repairs. I also like the cat interludes.
Thank you!!! I appreciate that you take your time to explain step by step the technique and wisdom behind what you're doing, you're making it look easy. Great videos!!!
I truly enjoy watching you manipulate metal. Your rough in looks about like my finished work.
Thanks!
Thank you! Very kind of you to help out!
You bet. I had a good week for once!
Thanks for the detail on using the tools to finish off welds. Even though it was a bit of a repeat from your previous videos, the extra detail was great to see again. I purchased those tools based on your recommendations in your previous videos.
The 80 grit money shot was interrupted by the the update on the battle of the blue chair so Kyle could cover up all his mistakes by purchasing a new cab and switching them out.
thank you, Kyle. You and Scott, CWMC, have taught me so much about sheet metal work. Can't thank you enough!
Just amazing. I think they sell bondo too cheap here in Finland. Or I just have no patience and skills to really finish my welds...
On a Tuesday? Thanks! 👍
Excellent workmanship.❤ From the UK.
At least the loony tunes monster has a welding mask on. . .lol
While your very capable skills at metal beating are impressive enough to watch, it's the saga of blue chair wars that has me waiting with anticipation for the next installment. Thanks for another outstanding video.
Agree the prices of stuff is crazy here in Canada. But the job looks good. Never seen the hand planishing hammer before. Keep it up looks great.
That turned out nice. It didn't shrink nearly as much as I expected.
Clearly, a bondo sponsorship won't get you very far without a sandpaper sponsorship. 🤔Learned something new today, thank you!
Tack!
Thank you!!! I appreciate that!
Turned out really good that little part. Yes it did.
You are on a whole different level guy.. i'd be lucky to tac something in and bondo the crap out of it. You are probably the most skilled body work guy i've ever seen.
Agree 100% Bodyfiller and sandpaper prices insane.
Looking forward to your next video.
All the best!
I have watched chicken truck through 3 times and still learn from your hackery. I am doing the same thing to my 1953 Dodge 2 ton truck but am not chopping or sectioning or channeling but doing what you do. The one thing that has changed for me is patience, which begrudgingly you have shown me the way. Keep up the GREAT work.
Ray J.
my moneys on Alan he lives to fight another day🦁
You have done an extra good video with well told use of tools
My shop cats' favorite channel- they say, "Moar kats plz kthanxbai", that's what they say.
22:50 We used to use an acetylene torch and a wet rag.
Yes, the dull grinding disk trick was taught to me by a few old time bodymen. It was used for minor shrinking over a large area when torch shrinking was too aggressive.
Very good Kyle🤠☝
Go team Alan! That was epically intense. Great body work too.
Love this project. Keep it up bud.
Hi Josh. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying this project and thank you for your generous contributions to the show!
You just amaze me
Nice. And Meowser for the cat crew..
Pretty ohsome job kyle said it before you the man...be great when done buddy
Great metal working. You are very talented.
After finding and attempting to fix several cave and pave areas on my resto, I appreciate all the time you take out of your resto to explain everything. It has helped me out a lot! The Battle of the Blue Chair updates are much appreciated, as well...long live the fighters!!!
You are using high quality work as an excuse for not doing low quality work. What a concept!🤔
If anybody can take a pig's ear and turn it into a chicken truck it's you. I'm really loving the content👍
Very nice work Kyle Looking great
As always Kyle, super content! I'm always amazed by your finished work!
Absolutely first class metal work Kyle, you are totally inspiring.
Thanks for another , Brother !
I watch because you do you.
Yay more metal work with the metal destroyer 5000!
Good to see that you have a new, or less used, work jacket!
Hey Kyle, it would be nice to see what your awesome metal work looks like on the inside of cab? Do Alan & Poe have Quality Inspection meetings of your work?
Kyle, I agree that prices are crazy now. However........I can tell you take pride in your work and your way is the right way to do it. I plan on replacing the roof on my 1979 Ford Crewcab pickup this spring. I can only hope it comes out 1/10th the way you do it. Great job as always!
Not trying to make it perfect, then makes it perfect, I'm so confused!!!😅 awesome work. Keep it up, I see maybe a pint of plastic filler going into this whole thing to cover all those microscopic flaws😅
Big red monster from Looney Tunes… you just got that much cooler man.
Gossamer in case you didn't remember it's name.
Corded tool Mafia approved!
Now for some Hot, Bondo Action.
Ah yes the monster from Looney Tunes. His name is Gossamer (my sister and I had a discussion about him the other day and tried to remember his name). What he could use is a new coiffure from Kyle's Kustom Kuts (like our hero sported several episodes back). And as Bugs Bunny said in that memorable cartoon. "Monsters Make Such Interesting People"...😆
Very impressive, this upload… Looking forward to seeing the huge cave-in on the long seam🧐
I can confirm that the cave in on the roof seam gives the Grand Canyon a run for the money!
That's the way ya do it . Awesome job . and even Cats how can we go wrong . lol . No mung removal though .
Ha it's me again! U know Kyle I mite tease u about your sweater from time to time. Yet I wish I could weld as well as u. 👍
great video
The old guys would have piled the lead on (lead sled).
Thanks for the update on the battle of the Blue Chair. The MSM is too busy making up big whoppers about everything to make a fair and unbiased report on such an important matter. It's refreshing to see true journalism. Thanks for the honesty and integrity.😎👍🐓🐔🛻🏁🏁
Great news flash re the battle of the blue chair!
So much learning in one video. Even in slow motion it's had to take it all in. I do like the way you sound in slow motion though. It reminds me of my drinking days. I think that Allen moved his fortress to one where he is better camouflaged. Poe can't attack him if she can't see him. I too have used this method to hide from women in my life. I recently received a couple of patents in the US and now going for international patents. If you know anybody up there could you put in a good word for me? Thank you for taking the time to make these videos.
I think you're on to something with the camouflage theory. Best of luck with the international patent. Unfortunately, I don't know any respectable upstanding citizens here. I'm sure they exist, but I only associate with degenerates and my cats
One of the biggest things I have picked up in this school is access to both sides of panel don't be afraid to remove obstacles. remove the door skin if necessary it does go back on. Thanks Kyle.
Mighty fine work, I must say.
You make metal work less intimidating....Now I can attempt it and when I screw it up I can laugh at my mistakes.
Again, nice work Kyle!!
Thank you for sharing, amazing talent
As usual another great informative video ... always learn something from you ... keep em commin Kyle ...
When any type of gauge hits 0, you should always tap it like in the movies. Flying an airplane and your fuel level shows zero its obviously a bad gauge and tapping it always fixes the problem.
This is a great project I’m enjoying it . Thanks Kyle
I'm a sub-amateur body work guy, but I've seen some TV shows and videos and stuff. I think you could work on million-dollar cars. People that are sticklers for using less filler and people who insist on everything being done the old-fashioned way should appreciate your skill and patience. I think what you do is very cool! I just hope I can emulate it to a limited degree.
Looks great!
I believe in putting as little filler as possible but as much as needed. That said I prefer to work as many low and high spots out as possible before filling.
Great video.
Kyle I think your next custom job should be a 67-72 ford double cab and I will provide the cabs and haul the mess off when you are done with your videos just trying to help.
i would love send some money to but i had heart attack about augs 8 and cost of the pills and in june i will be turning 65 . cannot wait. one thing when i was 20 years old boy . i use do go auto look for lead weights from old tires. and melt down with tin cans for body works then use some bars mix them the use bondo it was not cheap back then. but it so nice see new ways do it and to get smooth. keep showing more. feed us more .
Outstanding work and explanation! Thank you!
