Rockman & Forte (ロックマン&フォルテ), known as Mega Man & Bass in the Western world, used to be the last game chronologically released for the original Rockman/Mega Man series, until Rockman & Forte Mirai kara no Chōsensha (ロックマン&フォルテ 未来からの挑戦者) was released on the WonderSwan handheld system.
This game bears a striking resemblance to Mega Man 8, not only in style, but in excessive graphic detail. Similarly to Mega Man X4, the player has the option to choose one of two characters to play through. In this run, Rockman is chosen.
This run is 00:41.65 seconds faster than the previous run, demonstrating that this game is even glitchier than it originally appeared.
There are two more Rockman & Forte runs to watch on this site; featuring completion of the game with Forte as fast as possible ( tasvideos.org/1742M ) and collection of all CDs ( tasvideos.org/1925M ) with Rockman.

and on another music related note: might just be me, but the music up in this game feels a bit... off? Not bad on it's own at *all*, but just... off (questionable?), at least compared other Megaman games' music I've heard and can think of. Maybe it's just the soundfont/instrument choices, I dunno
For two of the three composers, this was their first Mega Man game. The other worked on Mega Man X, then Mega Man 7, next Mega Man X4, before composing for this game. Additionally, none of the songs for this game had more than one composers apparently.
Honestly… this, _Mega Man 8,_ and _Mega Man 11_ all have pretty… off-brand music. Which isn't to say that the soundtracks are _bad_ by any means! Pirateman's theme is one of my favorites and King Tower 1 is one of my favorite _fortress_ stage themes - especially on the Game Boy Advance! It just… doesn't have that _"Mega Man feel",_ somehow.
I think this game, in particular, had too "serious" of a soundtrack.
But then, it was meant to be a serious game, compared to some of the others.
Really? I found this game to have the best music of Capcom's SNES games. I hated every other work on the SNES they made (minus Mega Man 7).

If you think that's great, go to the "Bass" TAS a couple videos away from this one and skip to the first Cold Man fight. TASers have personality in the runs.

I like to imagine that, right at the beginning, there was an announcement of "Green Devil activated" followed in seconds by "Green Devil destroyed," and that's when they knew mistakes had been made.

And on Castlevania, it's the backwards dash. Every single Castlevania that has the mechanic has that on speedruns (I guess except Julius mode on Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, it's just ULEs there, he probably doesn't have the backwards dash, haven't played that game in quite a while).

It has some of the best SNES music I've heard from Capcom, that's for sure. It sounds quite impressive too.
Remember they made this after the PS1/Saturn MM8, so they pretty much mastered the SNES at this point.
