It's so nice to have something to cheer about, Ive been a Habs fan for 45 years, and we haven't had a lot to cheer about lately. It does seem like we r on the right path finally, Hutson has been really good, and Laine has scored almost every game. Caufield had a super hot start, and Suzuki as always is "mr consistent", we need more guys like that! Heineman and Evans have both been playing very well, yet they have Newhook and Dach playing the top lines. They r the 2 biggest concerns going forward (in my opinion), i thought it would be Gallagher or Armia id be worried about, but they have played relatively well. Not Dach, Dvorak, or Newhook, they need to go, the sooner the better, them with Barron, and a couple picks, we should be able to get SOMEONE decent. Anyway it's just nice to have someone who can put the puck in the net again, it's been WAY too long, Laine's shot is crazy fast! I wish we'd use Xhekaj's slapshot on the powerplay too, he has a 115 mph slapshot, and it's fairly accurate, but they never use it, he takes more wrist shots then Slap shots, they should be telling him to use that slap shot more. If nothing else, when a defender goes down to block a shot, oblige him! lol, Send a 115 mph slapper into the side of his leg! lol. Go Habs Go!!! Why is Pez benched the whole season? So we can have room for Dach, Newhook and Dvorak? I know they want to trade maybe all three i just mentioned, and they r hoping they play well, so we get more, but when do u say ok they arent going to play better? lol.

Provided the important guys can stay healthy for once, I don’t think the Habs will be picking anywhere near 5th overall. Primeau is dogshit and they need to find a solution there, but otherwise, this is a team I could see playing .550, maybe even .575 (points percentage) hockey for the rest of the year. That would put them in the 83-86 points range, which would probably place them 9th-11th in the east and 20th-23rd in the league.
With the arrival of Demidov next year and a little more experience on the backend (in addition to an acquisition on D, whether it be via trade or FA) I can see this team fighting for a wildcard spot next season.

One of two things is going to happen:
1.) laine’s goal production inevitably dips as the season progresses and habs fans turn on him.
2.) laine scores a lot of goals this season, habs management signs him to a ridiculous contract and he ends up falling off becoming the player we all know he is (in turn, habs fans turn on him).
Either way, the bellend centre will be loaded with boos.
