- This is where I left off from a month ago when I attempted the Key Quest only challenge for MH4U. In This video, I try to beat all of High Rank. Can I do it? Watch to find out.
Challenge Rules
1. No doing Quests except Key Quests
2. Can only do key quests ONCE
3. No Backing out with subquests
4. Solo Only (No Multiplayer)
5. No Keeping or Selling Items recieved after a failed quest (Must revert to last save)
6. No Reverting your save after completing a quest

It's gonna be a while before I attempt G rank, but when the video comes out, I'll have it appear as the end card for this one and the challenge will be complete (That is if I can beat G rank).

I got like 3-5 minutes left when soloing him with G-rank gear so that could be the hardest challenge yet

No pressure! Because even with all the potions, mega potions, max potions, an ancient potion, life powder,... With everything, I can't beat the enraged Rajang in G rank
Even with the best ice Charge blade, still can't beat it
Pink Rathian is totally toxic in the worst way. Her tail's pretty hard, so it's far from easy to sever it. And the only other Monster that's as agonizing to fight is Azure Rathalos; WHY IS IT FLYING SO MUCH?!?!
Azure be like ‘the floor is lava ‘ in old gen
Rathalos is the "king of the skies", it would be strange if he didn't fly around all the time (even if it's annoying)

The fact the bug actually woke up the Rathalos give’s immense bullfango flashbacks
This is no mean feat.
Defeating Snek solo in pretty much random HR gear is a pretty stellar achievement.

The Dalamadur was already in the MH4 Basegame since he is the final Boss of High Rank. So he obviously couldn't unlock G Rank back then. Making the first completion of the Dalamadur Quest the trigger to unlock G Rank might have messed up something for those who already did the Dalamadur Quest in MH4 and used their Safedata for MH4U. So Capcom just put a new HR Quest in the Ultimate Version to unlock the G Rank.
They did the same thing in MHGU. There you have to hunt a HR Diablos to unlock G Rank.
Wow, going from Ukanlos to a mere Diablos in G rank gates is kinda silly
I loved both the Poison Hammer and the Nercylla Charge Blade, both helped me a lot when i played MH4U!
tip: You can just 'backwards(opposite on where hunter is facing) + X' early animation to cancel SAED so you can keep your red shield
another tip is always do guardpoint then press X + A immediately to SAED or AED(to keep your red shield)
Oof on the lost Rathalos plate and sharpclaws, and the Stygian trap situation. I think the Dundormatunas were eating all your good luck

Poison bombs do work on Kushala in 4U, I believe that you have to have them hit the face to trigger as that’s how I’ve poisoned it without a poison weapon.
I didn't even consider that. Oh well😅
@@ReaverJolt at least it isn’t as confusing as second gen/frontier where you have to break the tail to stop the wind aura completely.

i tip my hat to you, 4ult was my first game and i got stuck on the azure rath/steve quest hard. it was mostly due to steve just constantly being annoying, and me not understanding like at all how the armor stuff worked back then so i think now that i know better i could do better but it still is a challege i think
Amazing run! You're a freaking master, man! This really makes me want to go and play MH4U, but I only have it on the 3DS and my hands are way too big for that little thing. After about an hour of playing my hands really start to hurt lol.

Kinda nice to know in world u can use poison smoke bombs on large monsters. Well now you know what it feels when u play a older title. Hub quests have fixed supply items

Been a hot minute since I looked at crafting for 4u but if health is an issue. Can't you turn those khelbi horns into a healing horn? Even with the break chance it can help. Especially since i doubt you'd be able to build a healing hh
Pro tip: never put a trap on the legs, go to the neck. Minimal hitbox shifting and it should be close enough to insta trap it.

I essentially did this too back when i was still a kid and didn't had Wi-Fi hahaha.
Anyways, I gotta say that it wasn't too bad with Greatsword overall, but i eventually hit a wall when i met HR 7 and couldn't deal with its roster due to lack of strategies against it, but hey, i did go pretty far indeed!

You can block ukanlos swin attack, he's so easy with a shield lol, that do not do that much damage

Do the online hub quest scale to lesser hunters, because if not doing any of those is really impressive, especially in not optimal armor
They don’t scale. They’re designed with the assumption of two players in mind, so soloing them is a real challenge

Gaijinhunter made a tutorial for that long ago.
The game asks if you want to save after EVERY SINGLE QUEST, yet this guy manages to go through like 8 hunts without saving ONCE

I mean the Rathalos incident is kinda your fault for placing the trap at his feet, I always place my traps right up near the monster's torso to be safe.
Wouldn't urgent quests also count as key quests? If so the egg chain quests and some others count as well
I mean, if they didn't count, none of this would be possible but I don't know how egg chain quests have anything to do with Urgent quests so I would need an explanation there.
