    im getting a k20a3 swap on my 00 ej6 & im looking to make more power, this helped a bit 🙌🏽 so if i get a2 head, crank, rods, & pistons & swap it on my a3, does the oil squirters have to do anything with the internal swap?

    Okay, Mr.K series God himself. I falsely got sold a K24a2 head and thought it was going to be a K20A2. Would a K24A2 head fit fine on a K20A3 block with a K20A2 bottom end. Any response would be greatly appreciated, idk what I would have to modify to make this shit work

    That valve shrouding hurts airflow though.(I'd rather remove that meat behind valves then have the compression)Have A3 and Z3 myself,both great engines!

      Just to be clear in talking about BARE block comparisons. Still plenty of reasons to grab an a3 but that's dependent on power goals snd how much you wanna work. Watch my other a3 videos

    The k20a2 has better oil cooling, better air flow, and makes 40 more hp, stock. It only makes sense to go for an ivtec motor if you get it for a steal..
    A jdm k24a rbb is $900 and even if you get a k20a3 for free, you will not make as much hp with $900 of bolt ons. Therefore, for most people, it doesn't make sense.
    One more thing to note, the k24z motors are upgraded versions of the k24a/k24a2 (upgraded valve train and better rods/pistons etc). So k24z or k24a/a2 is best for budget, then base k24s (k24a1) then k20a3. If budget doesn't matter, get a k20c1 crate motor from honda or a 4 piston motor.

      @HDVisionsMedia the k20c has already shown that it's the weakest K. Head gaksets are and issue for them and 4P blew kwpt losing them at 400whp. K20a3 has consistently made 190-200whp with a oem vtec killer and basic bolt ons and the k24a4 makes 210 with the vtec killer. Plenty of evidence even here on my channel
      So yeah thanks for the "insight" I guess

    hey man, long question but ill try to keep it short here hope you can give an advice. I have a k20a3 block with a cnc ported k20z3 RBC head (using bc stage 2 camshaft and uprated valve springs). What I need to change is the Pistons, Conrods and Crankshaft on the k20a3 block correct? And will the block be able to withstand?

      If you haven’t already, get nippon racing high compression pistons, polish your rods (simultaneously taking material off the rod to make it lighter), and keep your stock crankshaft. That is a beastly block that will allow you to rev high and support the flow of your head very well. Your head is perfect.

    hey! hopefully this chat isnt too dead- I got an 08 si with an a3 swap and its boosted on e85, just wondering if itd be worth doing an a2 or z3 swap. my goals are about 500+ at the wheels relatively reliably. cheers!

    Can swap my 04 Tsx head for a 06 Tsx head. I want to go with my gut but I see the intake valves are different. The intake valves on the 04 are stamped with the number 5 and the 06 intake valves are stamped with the number 35 and stick out a little bit

    Have you ever put k20a2 crank rods & pistons into a k20z3 block with a2 oil pump? Can it be reved to 9000? I think the oil pump will block off the oil squirters? Thanks

      if you wanna stay all motor start with an A2. the A3 has no comp, no valvetrain and the rotating assembly and the oil pump cant take high rpms. youll get it done cheaper in the end.

      Is the head an a2 head? Any bolt ons? As soon as you start modifying you should be tuning. If not you risk 💥

      The A3 that comes in the si has the fatass oil pump with the balance shafts. The A3 that comes in the rsx base has the type s pump.

    Using a k20a2 piston with 86.5mm bore and polished the head of the a3 and back cut the valves :) 11.6 compression baby with boost

      Base model k only has one cam that has vtec. And that Vtec isn’t very aggressive either.

    So if I’m planing on doing pistons rods, new head the whole 9 it doesn’t really matter what k20 I have ? Cause I have a k20a3 was planning on completely stripping it down and doing everything to it

      This is a comparison to BARE blocks. The engine blocks are virtually the same. If you want forged rods in your a3 the easiest route to that is to get the type s or later generation si. The a3 crank doesn’t have much aftermarket support. Plenty more details in my k series playlist
