- In this video I use the Samyang 12mm f2 for aps-c on the Sony ZV-E1. I demonstrate how the 30% crop works almost perfectly with this lens and how it compares to the Sony 11mm 1.8.

I got to pick this up. I’ve not clogged with the zv-e1 because it’s heavy with my other lenses but picking up the 12mm is a no brainer
I got it used on BH photo. It’s a great deal and perfect for vlogging.
oh man i might have to consider grabbing this lens- I need something smaller & more compact for some upcoming events. I have the Sony F1.8 20mm but dont want to bring that out with me as its $$
So true.
My favorite lens for my ZVE1 is the Sony 20 mm 1.8 😅
Yeah it’s pretty amazing. I should use mine more but I need ND filter.
Samyang 18 2.8 is also a good choice, and it's full frame
Thanks. I considered that lens, but the crop for vlogging was to close when using dynamic active stabilization.
Thanks for this video. I got this lens on my fuji xt4 and when I compared the footage to native fuji lenses, it seemed like samyang could not get as much dynamic range - not sure if it is also your own experience with sony - did you notice a bit lower dynamic range - compared to other lenses? thanks for reply.
I didn't notice any difference with dynamic range. Just slightly less sharp then some other lenses
Well done. Does the active stabilization introduce line skipping (pixel binning) ?
I don’t think so but I’m not sure
Looks soft 🙃
how about the 14mm 1.8 g master lense?
Nice lens but too big for me. It will crap in to about 20mm which is fine but I’d rather use an 11 or 12mm for apsc. Much smaller.
Try the viltrox 13 f1 4 , I think that's perfect
I haven’t heard of that one. I’ll have to check it out
@@Davidmccombs it's around 450-470usd , do check it out
That is a good one. But for dynamic ibis or even active ibis to work at the best. You need to use sony native lens. it perform slightly better. I would not use third party lens for this walking type usage.
The best is Sony 11 mm
+1.5x additional crop
@@frostgodx nope , 1.2-1.3 clear image zoom
I was considering it but it had too much distortion.
Makes no Sense. Tiny camera wiry heave ass lenses and overheats.
