- In this video I review the RingConn Smart Ring.
I have a variety of fitness trackers, watches, chest straps, foot pods, under bed sensors as well as an Ultrahuman RingAir
RingConn contacted me and asked me if I would like to test their Smart Ring.I said yes and they sent me the ring for review. They have not seen the video, or asked me to say anything other than review the ring on my own terms, which is what I have done.
The ring usually costs $279.00 . The video went live on Black Friday 2023 and there are Black Friday/Cyber Monday discounts listed below
As always there are chapter markers down below so you can skip through to the parts you might be interested in.

Kudos on an excellent and lean informative and no-nonsense review. They seem to have done a great job for not much time out of the retail starting gate.
Cheers Michael. I imagine they have big plans for the future…
Cognac marathon tomorrow morning, and without any device I can tell that my stress level is about 45% and slowly climbing!!😂😂😬😵💫
Very best wishes for tomorrow! The great thing about smart rings is they collect all the data and you never see it until you go looking for it. Hope you enjoy every second of it.
@@OldManRunner THANKS!! 🙏🏻
@@bev9708I'm late to this and may have missed wishing you best of luck before your start... GO Bev!
Good luck @bev9708. Do they offer some cognac after the marathon?
@@TolunayOrkun I hope so : - )
I think they missed a trick by sending this ring to an Irish reviewer and not having Ireland as a country to ship to on their checkout page 🙂
If anyone is in Ireland and wants one I can contact them directly. They shipped here without any difficulty and I did not have to pay any additional duties. It is frustrating to see how many countries don't ship to Ireland, including European ones. Salomon being the most notable
What about ...
Blood pressure and glucose measuring, does that come with updates ?
What’s the lifespan of the battery, as it can not be replaced ?
As far as I know none of the smart rings are able to do blood pressure or glucose measuring. Apple are close with non invasive glucose monitoring and perhaps they will release a ring when they crack it. It will be on the watch.
I don’t know the lifespan of the battery. My guess is that new models with additional sensors will arrive before the battery dies. Time will tell.
Vis a vis the lifespan of the battery, I emailed them the same question two days ago and received this answer the next day..."We conducted extensive rounds of battery charge-discharge tests to determine the durability of the ring's battery. One round of charge-discharge tests simulates 7 days, which is how long the ring can last with a single charging. After 500 rounds of charge-discharge tests, the battery life remained consistent."
Have you used it during running and compared with Fitbit/Apple Watch or similar, how exact is the steps count then?
I ran the New York Marathon wearing it, the Ultrahuman Ring Air, Garmin FR955, Apple Watch Ultra and two Stryd Footpods. Will compare the data in a later video
@@OldManRunner cool. Will order your channel. But overall how did the ring handle counting steps while running?
@@ARVIthereyet Pretty well. All my devices give different counts. The RingConn was very close to the Garmin. 61783 v the Garmin at 63567 for the entire day.
Is it any chance to import my access cards (at work we have access cards) in this ring to use it as access card as well?
I don't think so. NFC is reportedly coming to the Oura ring in the next iteration and I expect the same will be true for all of the smart ring updates in the next few years. It would be great to have.
I see the potential of these devices, but price point has to come down before there can be mainstream adoption. I am happy with the metrics I get from my Garmin 955 Solar watch. I am totally expecting at some point Garmin offering a similar device for people who don't want to wear watches while sleeping.
I think the price of the rings is coming down. Paying a subscription seems mad. I think the RingConn is one of the cheapest… certainly during the BFCM promotions.
