Another highly requested race out of the picture, and now we're down to the last two, or three if we're separating a certain two tribes from one another. The funniest thing about being a Max-height MaleRoe is that I literally had ZERO idea how tall NPCs were or werent.
ZENOS wasnt taller than me, everyone "tall" like Emet-Selch, Urianger, Moenbryda. They're all like shoulder-neck height for me.

I love cinematics where it shows the size difference. That one scene where everyone's at the table having a conference, and my character is so noticeably bigger it seems even sitting down he's taller than any of them if they stood up lol
It's the big dramatic cutscenes where the camera just sort of can't handle it and cuts your head out. Or wearing one of the plate chests with the helmet attached so you don't look at the other people any more.
The fem roe experience for me is hearing the tell sound effect before my game even fully loads in.

important note, femroe have the biggest size difference between shortest and tallest in the game. I play a runt femroe and I tower over everyone until there is any other roe then they dwarf me and it is funny every time.
Great video. Femroe has always been my main ever since I started in 5.3. Although, those Hrothgal's are making me wanna act unfaithful I will say.

The FemRoe experience is having the best long hairstyle in the game.
I like my m!Roe because he has the perfect proportions and enthusiasm to do a proper sundrop dance in full Vanu Vanu glamour.

My male roe experience is having random people come up to me, stand next to me and then just run away. Its them either comparing sizes or being in awe of seeing a roe in the wild
🤣 I feel so called out, because that’s exactly what I do when I see a Roegadyn player. Run up, angle the camera to get a good look at their face and run away.

And because I’ve been thinking about making a Roegadyn alt for awhile now.
Originally played as a male Roegadyn before shifting to Hrothgar when I acquired Shadowbringers . . . The comment about hairless hrothgars wasn't wrong, and I imagine that some female Roegadyns might fantasia to female hrothgars now that they are showcased.
Not sure why, but I feel like Hrothgals are more like Highlanders than Roegadyns

I have seen them here for the past 2 weeks. They take up almost half the plaza, never seen it this crazy before. I think it's weird that nothing is being done about it. When I was new and first saw weeb police I thought it was funny, but now it's kind of annoying.

Started as a male'ra and switched to maleroe after I beat Stormblood because the roe animations are just so expressive, WAYYY BETTER than male'ras were (and I have not looked back since)

Over on Dynamis we had this phenomenon last Starlight of literally dozens of half naked Roedudes standing around the aetheryte in Limsa in formation. They call themselves “the Weeaboo Police” and they have this irrational fear of Lalafells.
My character is a midlander Hyur gal (max height, which ain’t a lot) with an Elezen name, and a caster who happens to be an officer in the Maelstrom. So I was there. A lot. I felt somewhat…called out…and wondered if we all were about to go to weeaboo jail. Suddenly, one day, they were gone as suddenly as they appeared, and the Roe population of Limsa dropped considerably. I guess the Lalafells won.
Yeah those guys travel across the NA data centres, they just stand in Limsa…
Roe's might be rare because of attention. Meaning the person picking them is showing they aren't afraid of attention and intimidating in that way.
They are just based individuals usually
Picked a male Roe because i too am a big lumbering creature, added bonus is the lack of tells, i can idle in Limsa without anyone pestering me.
I mistook Roegadyn and Hrothgar because of those pills up my nostrils.

Didn't start as femroe; started in middle of Stormblood's 4.x patches as Au Ra because they had horns and tail like the tauren I used to play in WoW. Went to femroe max height after finishing Shadowbringers 5.0 story because I missed the height.

I've been waiting for this one, I run the so call "Femroe" I don't because resident evil, I don't do it for rarety sake or even for the exotic of running a race that's 1 in a hundred but everyone wants one. I do it because I am tall and I entrust Obi Wan's lesson's of the high ground. I must maintain the high ground even in videogames when permitted lol. I play Femroe, And I have to say, I'm the lynch pin in my FC. All of my other FC members will Fantasia on a whim and no one bats an eye. Once I decide to use the Aesthetician to change my hair style, that's it! Change my hair, and it broke my FC! People lost their minds! My Femroe became so iconic that I cannot change ANYTHING about my character without causing Havoc in the FC. I am trapped with my toon, but I wouldn't have it any other way! Even though I'm very tempted to to fantasia to Female Hrothgar with Dawntrail. ^_^

I've been rocking a Femroe since the very start. Honestly, at this point I don't think I could enjoy the MSQ if my Pirate Amazon wasn't looming over literally every NPC who isn't a dragon or a Primal.
If I weren't already attached to my elezen's backstory, I would totally run a roe. Hell, maybe someday I'll make an alt character and make that one a roe. Although I do not fancy having to re-grind all classes again, so eeeeh maybe not.

You focused on the green Roes but from my experience (as a green FemRoe) I feel like 90% of the other Roes I see (especially FemRoes) use normal human skin tones. Kinda drives home the point that people just want to be a big human.

i did try out the roegadyn but they had the exact same issue that tauren have in wow for me - even though i know their running speed is exactly the same as everyone else's, they feel so much slower.
I know what you mean. When WoD updated character models, they also changed the speed of run cycles on certain races. You can test this by switching between classic and retail Taurens. Classic run cycle is slightly faster. I've been Femroe since day one so i'm used their animations. Not nearly as bad as Galka in FFXI. Those guys felt SLOW.

Fun fact! According to the localization team the "roe" in "Roegadyn" is pronounced "roo".
I choose to put that pronunciation on the same shelf as "jif" for .gif files because my search info is "Get Roe'd Like a Boat" and I'm not gonna let the localizers ruin my dad joke.
The only thing that botters me with my male Roe is that the glam is very, VERY limited for his body type. Certain armors look amazing on him, but others are outright fashion crimes and it TRIGGERS me so effing much!!!
Edit: Is my only char. I dont have the patience to run alts, much less do everything again for those, f that. Roe was my choice because the body type is closest to mine. Sadly the is no chubby or big bellied races T-T

I play a FemRoe because I wanted to have green skin but I didn't want to be built like a Roblox character.
As a female roegadyn player it's honestly hilarious. The amount of items people will just GIVE me for free,for simply existing is astounding. And yes 4/5 times if someone messages me somewhere in the sentence there will be a "Mommy" in it. It just comes with the territory.

I have always and only played a femroe and the reason is because I am 5 feet tall in real life. My ideal body would be me but 8-9 feet tall and built like a kickboxer, I want to be big 😭 I always get friendly attention on femroe, especially from the other rare femroes.

of my 8 characters, 3 are Roes and the first 2 are femroes, actually my first ever character in the game is a femroe and will forever be, but she still gets stalked by folks even after server changes and paid server changes because she's hot. the second one stopped being stalked because she's perminently in a vanu vanu suit... The newer male roe, I look at things being put in his hands and go dear god just how big is he?
Fun fact, when shadowbringers came out and we first meet the exarch... having run this before I didn't notice just how short he was, but compared to my first character fem roe whom is max height... There is no safe view for the dear boy!
