The slow, delicate steps it takes, especially with those two front legs is a mix between funny, because it looks like it's slapping the ground as it moves fast, and dainty because when it goes slower it looks very deliberate and careful :)

I'm a (mostly) recovered arachnophobe. They used to terrify me when I was younger, but I forced myself to get over it. They don't intend us any harm, even the poisonous ones. I even had a HUGE "pet" spider that housed itself in a funnel web by my kitchen table (no, not a funnel web spider; I live in Washington State). I think my cat ate her.....which actually pissed me off. But I've got them all over my place, mostly cellar spiders, but some common house spiders as well; they're my friends and I like having them around.

I made friends with a Grey Jumping Spider today. He was a little scared of me at first, but after a little while he got used to being held by me, and calmed down. I put him near the fence, and told him farewell, mostly because I didn't want to put him back where I found him, as he was near a pretty big ant hill, and no spider can fight off an army of angry fire ants, so I wanted the best for him, and put him somewhere safe.

I saw it once get scared and sort of 'vibrate' on it's web, it was so cool! And apparently their web is as strong as steel at the same thickness. I love how this just got recommended to me. I could never in a million years own a spider. I had a rose hair tarantula when I was a very young kid, but I had a close shave and almost got bit by a black widow once and I've been terrified since.
I dont understand whys theres so many people telling this man, even years later down the road (when I'm sure this orb weaver which was an adult has passed on by now) to kill his pet. I love watching others be able to handle spiders, because I personally think that their all beautiful. In their own creepy, dangerous way. But if this orb weaver has passed by now, hes probably still upset about it, because you can tell in the video how much he loved her. Quit telling this man to kill his pet. Especially if you have a oet, whether it's a dog, car, bird, etc. Because you wouldn't want someone saying that kind of stuff to you, especially if your pet passed away.
