The World's BEST AIRLINE Museum + Operation Center Tour

- In May this year, I visited the Delta Air Lines museum in Atlanta. This is the BEST AIRLINE MUSEUM I've ever been. It houses the first B747-400 in the world, B767-200 Spirit of Delta, the original Delta Dust Cropping plane, a shiney silver DC-3 and many interesting items.
After the tour of museum, I visited the Delta Tech Ops and Operation Center to see first hand how the operation is conducted.
I'm glad Delta saved their 767-200
Alpha they also have an MD-88 on display as well as a DC-9 100 and a 757-200 LR
@@Mr35thousandft Coming next, the DC 7
The L1011 Tristar too
those square windows
*they scare me*
Ok
The Delta Museum is top notch and it only keeps getting better with the 747 addition. We have been 5+ times.
I'm fortunate to live in Atlanta and have visited the museum many times. I just love the place. Delta has done such a great job. Although they have a section of an L-1011 at the museum, I wish they had a full size L-1011. There are so few examples left, even in boneyards, most have been scrapped. It was a workhorse for Delta for many years. It was my favorite Delta aircraft and I flew many hours domestically and international on them.
Agreed. They really should have a full Delta L-1011at the museum. I had read somewhere that the cockpit section that they do have at the museum was actually from the prototype L-1011 ( N1011 ) the orange painted prototype L-1011 that Lockheed used for test flights and the first L-1011 ever built.
As a teen, I flew Delta's L-1011 DFW-FRA...I remember being so enamored with the aircraft!
Some here as a Washingtonian
Any delta l1011s left?
I love how Sam has the most diverse, unique, amazing and in depth aviation content out there! never change Sam!
I hope they have enough seating at the United museum
Raf Tash they will have a sign that says “no Asians allowed”
😂😂😂

I'm a Delta Airlines Sky Miles Member's & Military Retiree Gray Area ' Delta Airlines has helped me so much and I'm proud of Delta Airlines > God Bless Delta Airlines .
Fun fact:
Delta's 747 on display in their museum formerly belonged to Northwest airlines, which served as flight 85 that had a rudder hardover incident back at 2002, the plane was eventually repaired and continued to fly with Northwest until Delta bought it in 2008, which retired in September 2015
I always remember when Northwest 85's crew heroicly saved all people inside that 747.
Ship 6301 was flown by Northwest Airlines first. I used to work on this ship from LAX-TPE and LAX-SYD. Visited the Delta museum and ship 6301 in 2017, great experience. Thanks for sharing Sam!
Steven???
Shoutout to Sylvester! He’s always an absolute pleasure to talk to every time I’ve been to the museum. I’m glad to see he’s still spreading a wealth of knowledge and history.
I grew up in the Atlanta area and this has always been one of the places I said I would visit but never had the chance to. This video definitely brought me back to living in the area and being able to watch the planes pass over our house. Thanks for showing us a glimpse into it!
What a beautiful museum and a B747-400. God I miss that plane. Rest in piece Delta’s queen of the sky.
It’s a shame it has been replaced by the AirJunk 350!
Delta's true spirit is on that man's face, always smiling and friendly.. best domestic airline to fly in the US
Sam I personally think that you have the best plane reviews! I look on all of my boarding passes to see what plane it is because of you.
Thank you so much
You’re absolutely the best man !!!
Wow that 767 looks absolutely stunning!
This museum is an example of what a proper aviation museum should look like!!!
Love flight museum and these commercial planes are something special too
Siempre es bueno que haya un Museo de lo que sea. Trae nostalgia. Recordar es vivir.
Delta is by far the best domestic carrier in the US, thanks for sharing Sam!
@sanitman1 ok, I wasn't talking about worldwide, I mean US DOMESTIC CARRIERS, can you read?
@sanitman1 what's the best then you BASTARD? If you know so much about the airline industry in the US.

None of you dipshits know what an opinion is?
My late uncle worked for Delta from 1969 until his retirement. He said that Delta's customer service was what separated the "men from the boys".
Wow..this is a must see attraction that I never knew was in GA, thanks for sharing!
Awesome! I was so glad to see this video, Sam. My son and I flew down to Atlanta a few months ago just to see that museum. It was great! I’m glad you got to see it.
I've been to it too. I like how this one shows more modern jetliners and is very hands on. Most aviation museums only show vintage aircraft and therefore are also not very hands on. I like that you can step onto the 767 and 747 and dream about flying on it. It's also really cool on the 747 exhibit to fully understand the size of the aircraft. For example the wheels on most aircraft look the same size as the tires on your car. But you can go stand by them and find out that they're about the same height as you. I also liked that you can walk around and fully explore the 747 cabin. Amazingly I have flown on Delta's 747 four times all in Delta One and only one time on the lower deck (NRT-HNL, SEA-NRT, NRT-HNL, DTW-ICN). So I barely knew what it was like to fly on the lower half of the aircraft. Also the 747 on exhibit has an amazing history. It was originally delivered to Northwest Airlines and was involved in an "incident." On its way from Detroit to Narita the aircraft suffered a rudder hard-over. The 747's rudder is so large it is divided into two segments. The lower one had a full left rudder hard-over. Since it was divided into two segments the crew were able to gain control of the aircraft by applying hard right rudder moving the top rudder right. The aircraft was safely diverted to Anchorage. Although the cause was not found the NTSB concluded that it was probably caused from stress over time on the rudder. Considering it was used in vigorous testing exercises it was probably correct. Rest assured this will not happen on your flight on a 747-400 because there was an airworthiness directive issued requiring more vigorous inspections and installing a device to eliminate a rudder hard-over from happening. The significance of the event is that because the rudder on the 747 was divided into two segments the flight was able to land safely and thats what also makes Delta Ship 6301 special.
This is so cool! My dad works for Delta, so I’ve been flying them all of my life. We have the commemorative coin for the Spirit of Delta. Thanks for sharing this :)
By far the best video Sam, I am huge Delta fan, the best American airline out there. Again keep up the good work 👍🏽
Amazing view of delta airways museum. Great people and beautiful planes to see👍. Keep up the awesome vids Sam chui ❤️👍
Great video, Sam! I did not know of this museum's existence until viewing this video. Thanks for all of your great work!
This is the best aviation museum I saw, and it is only of one airline. Nice, that they showed so much technical detayls behind. Great!
fuck
@Sam Chui Awesome, just awesome. This is my favorite video you've posted and I've been watching for a very long time. I had no idea this museum existed. I was going to be upset if Delta didn't preserve an L-1011 so I was so happy to see it in the line-up. We are the same age and this video brings back my childhood memories of flying on Delta. Thanks for sharing!
That's where I work! I live in Downtown ATL and work for Delta Airlines. Happy to see you've made it to my neck of the woods.
Awesome vid Sam! I'm glad to see that N102DA is still in great condition, and the 747 exhibit looks great too. Looking forward to eventually visiting this museum.
Sylvester is a super nice guy!!
Wow.. nice museum
Back in the early 90’s I bought a 30 day Delta Pass for $750US and travelled on 22 flights around the US. All on standby! I would book my flights around meal times and I was a young 25 year old!!! Great memories!

The man's face of happiness opening the door is contagious at 5:49!! 🥰

Best Air Line in the world!
Omg I love Delta Air Lines so much!! I wish they would sponsor me I fly with Delta so much. It’s luxury flying, I’ve never had any problems with flights, with their employees, or anything! Delta Air Lines is the prime example of commercial aviation and I would love to be apart of the team!
I've been to that museum. I loved it! I had a really great experience.
I actually got a chance to fly on the Spirit of Delta 767-200 when I was very young between Atlanta and Dallas. Very thankful I did because there is nothing like flying on a classic airliner!
Thanks for showing us this! I need to go down there and see for myself!
I love how you get to go behind the scenes to this very interesting world and unveil it to make it less mysterious and more interesting! Safe flights and happy landings to you in the coming new year! Hope to run into you on a future flight :)
They definitely have some amazing planes really neat memorabilia

Loved this museum!
I was looking forward to your new video, always a pleasure to watch them
I miss flying the delta 747 from shanghai to Detroit... wonderful memories.
What a fantastic Museum and everything looks "new" Another great video Sam and I would love to get there one day !! As someone else has suggested a visit to the Qantas Museum and Historical aircraft at Wollongong should be on your list. The Qantas 747-400 which made the direct flight from LHR to Sydney is stored there. I was on a Qantas Jet Base tour the day it arrived in Sydney and went on board to have a look and it had the famous "new car" smell about it!! Its a shame to see these majestic machines being slowly mothballed! More please!
Wow! Incredible video, Sam. Love so much about aviation.
Your best video yet!
Looking very nice. You had a great time there at the Delta Museum....Really really nice....Thank you....
